It does need 1 set screw and a screw for the plate. The lock moves freely when turning the knob The porcelain does have cosmetic wear. The ornate oval brass knob is in mint condition. The plate under the ornate knob measures 10 1/2"x3" The plate under the porcelain knob measures about 8"x 2 1/2" The mortise measures 4 3/8" long x 3 1/4" wide x 5/8" deep. It is 2 1/2" from edge of face plate to center of knob. The brass face plate measures 6 1/4" x 1" x 1/4" This vintage lock set will look great on your door. This mortise latch fits a 5/8" spindle/shank. A 5/8" spindle is included. But you might need one of a different length depending on how thick your door is. The brass face measures 1 5/16" x 3 7/16" The green part that slides into the door is about 3 1/4" L x 1 3/4" H x 5/8" Thick. Seems to be in perfect working order.

This auction is for a antique solid brass thumb lever door handle set off a old barn from a exquisite farm estate. Although it looks like a greenish patina it was actually painted long ago and the paint is wearing exposing the brass underneath. The handle plates and thumb latches have a pebbled/ hammered finish look not often seen. The handles have a spiral design in the middle with sets of perpendicular lines at each end. The handles and the levers along with the lock cylinder[ sorry. No key] are marked WELCH along with various numbers on the backs. The outside handle is 12" long and the inside handle is 8" long. The mortise box is marked E-Z MORTISE. All seems to be working on it including the" deadbolt. This is an antique front door knob and lock set that came from an old home north of Pittsburgh that was being updated. The decorative parts appear to be brass. Although the door and keyhole escutcheons have a copper or bronze look. The original screws with the exception of one missing flat head wood screw are included. The lock faceplate measures 1" x 7" The lock box is 5/8" x 3 3/8" x 4 7/8" The door knobs are about 2 3/8" wide at their widest. This antique mortise lock set is in the Aesthetic style. The back plates are 5.25' x 1.75' The plates are steel. The knobs are black porcelain. The only marked part is the box which is marked Skilman. The plates are bare steel with no finish. The box comes with a functional key. The lock faceplate is 7/8' x 5 1/2' The box may be opened and the catch bolt can be reversed for doors that swing the other way. The spindle also comes with the set screws, everything shown in the first photo is included. Circa 1890 or earlier, a nice antique set. If there are questions please ask them early. 3 antique/ vintage **door knob back plates** 1920's/30's- for mortise lock
I purchased a group of assorted old doorknob backplates to get the one I needed for a house I am renovating. I am now offering some of those I don't need for your consideration. This auction is for THREE(3) rectangular antique door plates, I believe from the 1920's or 30's. But I wasn't around back then so I don't know for s ure. T wo plates are plated steel- a magnet does stick to them. The third is not magnetic- appears to be plated brass. The coating is a bronze or copper color. These w ould have been used with an old. Large mortise-type lockset and skeleton key- neither is included. P late A measures 10" high x 3" wide. This is the non-magnetic. Bronze-colored one. I believe this plate would have been used on the outside of the front entry door- possib ly exposed to the weather. Plate B measures 7" high ... morex 2 1/4" wide. It is plated steel- the plating appears to be an' antique brass' color. It is similar in design to plate A. But not an exact match. The previous owner"cleaned" these two plates with steel wool, so there are scratches evident. And some finish loss. Plate C measures 7 1/4" high x 2 3/8" wide. It has not been cleaned at all. And is mostly covered with old white paint. It is also plated steel. I believe the color may also be' antique brass' But I can't tell with the paint. It is. Again, a similar design to the other two plates, but not an exact match to either. I received plates A and B as you see them- I do NOT have any knobs or screws to go with them- sorry. The 4 screws that were holding plate C to a door are includ ed, but there were no knobs on the door. This auction is for only these T HREE door back plates. This set fits doors that are not pre-bored. The Rice pattern was made by Yale and Towne of Stamford Connecticut around 1885. We collected originals. Tested the bronze content, and cast in the finest sand to capture the finest details. The lock box measures 4 x 3 x 1 inches The face of the lock measures 5 1/2 x 7/8 x 1/8 inches. The center of the round part of the key hole to the center of the hub for the doorknob is a standard 2 ¼ inches. The back set of the lock is 2 3/8 inches. The back plates measure X x X the doorknobs are 2 ¼ inches in diameter and have detailing also on theie reverse side. A vintage heavy duty mortise framer chisel marked'R.Beatty-cast steel' Steel 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 15 1/4 o.a. Someone made a newer long handle with ring for it. Well made. Has proper taper to 7/16 at the neck for clearance. Has 5 1/4" of applied hard facing, extra thick. Has some dings and very light pitting but nothing to interfere with sharpening or use.
