A nice set of porcelain door knobs and latch plate
Here is a nice old set of porcelain knobs with a latch plate that although broken shows them and displays them well. The knobs have a few small chips and some discoloring which is normal for the age and use that they have had. The knobs are usable in a home restoration with the shaft if thats how you choose or they look neat in a display of vintage architectural or mechanical items. I love the look of these old knobs and you really get the feeling that they just don't make things like this anymore when you see them and pick them up and feel the weight. Vintage Brass- door handle latch-with Brass plate- Ornate Surface is grungy. Has tarnish and patina, only the two screws visible on the back in whole assembly are magnetic. The latch piece coming through the plat is bent, not sure if it is cut short too. The backer plate measures about 6 1/8 inches from tip to tip. The backer plate is about 1 3/4 inches wide(tapering very slightly so it is a hair wider on the bottom/key hole end) and the width of the latch handle-looks like a door knocker- is 2 1/4 inches. The only marked part is the box which is marked Skilman. The plates are bare steel with no finish. The box comes with a functional key. Penn Antique Restoration. Vintage Art Deco Chrome/Steel Door Set w/Knobs. Plates, Lock, Key. Handsome. Vintage, interior door set salvaged from Southeastern Michigan. The set consists of 2 steel knobs, 2 stamped steel escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock w/1 working key, 1 steel strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 threaded spindle with 2 setscrews. The knobs and escutcheons have an elegant. Art Deco style design. At the point of salvage. All parts were dirty and unevenly tarnished. Since then, we've cleaned and polished the parts to the best of our ability. The center of the knobs are bit scuffed. But otherwise all parts are in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, chips, or heavy scratches. The lock was opened, inspected, and we sprayed WD40 on and around all internal parts to facilitate their movement. This glass hotel door number measures about 6 3/8" wide and features reverse painting on glass. Some of the paint has flaked off and is missing. And it's crackling in other places. There are a couple large chips on the backside of the glass around the screw holes. I was told this was removed from the Henry Clay motel in Ashland Kentucky around the time it was remodeled. Antique Schlage Church Pull Door Plate Backplate Solid Brass Door Lock 2 piece
This is a solid brass Schlage door pull 2 sided designed for a church. Dimensions are 21 inches long x 3 3/4 inch wide. The handle is 5 1/2 inches long and sticks out 2 1/2 inches. The hole is 1 1/4 inch around. I didn't touch the patina at all or try to clean these in any way. That is up to you on how you want to clean them or leave them original. Look at the pictures. Another pair of escutcheon plates or key door knob back plate covers. These are a Greek Revival Design. Measure 2-1/2" x 7. The keyhole opening is 3/4" in length.
