Have a man-made antique finish that tries to look old and are lower quality metal.You may find a solid brass kick plate, However you will not find a more gorgeous authentic antique kick plate that has aged perfectly for 55-65 years. The patina ... moreand character on the bronze can only be created by many, many years of exposure to the elements. The kick plate is in excellent antique condition. I used some sandpaper to remove paint that stuck to the back side of the kick plate(last photo is the back side) from the door so their some scratches on the back side, of course they will be hidden when installed on a door The kick plate lays flat and true. It is thick heavy gauge brass/bronze I will include some oval head solid brass screws 3/4" long that match the finish perfectly they are made to protrude a tiny bit from the surface. Not flush mounted(see photos)I like the look when they protrude slightly I feel it adds architectural character. The existing screw holes in the kick plate are beveled/recessed. Vintage Yale Door Knobs with plates -steel, copper and brass coated, hardware
This set works. I took it off an old door from my grandmother's house. I didn't strip the paint off of it but have left it in the condition I found it in. The pieces are steel(magnet sticks to them) but appear to have been coated with copper on the door knobs and brass on the plates. As you can see this was on a door that led to the outside as one knob shows more weathering then the other. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Nice lot of four antique Eastlake patterned doorknob keyhole backplates for your consideration. These are good reusable condition. Some very minor peening might be needed to straighten a couple of the edges. Most of the original copper Japanning is gone. Some residual cleaning will be needed for a new finish where there is some old paint and finish on them. Neck collars are tight for reuse and measure just shy of 3/4 of an inch. Plates measure 5 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches and are 2 inches ctr to ctr of the skeleton key barrel to the doorknob collar. Questions welcome otherwise what you see is what you get.
