Another incredible antique hardware find! I was given the chance to salvage anything I wanted from a small antique barn that was going to be demolished. I went over the entire barn with a fine tooth comb. I found many fantastic treasures.including this piece! This kick plate was on a side entrance door. Above the door was one of those green& white porcelain barn lights, of course I salvaged that.it sold immediately! I estimate this kick plate to be about 55-65 years old It is made from solid brass/bronze.not the lower quality steel with a plating You will not find a more gorgeous authentic antique kick plate that has aged perfectly for 55-65 years. The patina and character on the bronze can only be created by many. Many years of exposure to the elements. The kick plate is in excellent antique condition. I used some sandpaper to remove ... morepaint that stuck to the back side of the kick plate(last photo is the back side) from the door so their some scratches on the back side, of course they will be hidden when installed on a door The kick plate lays flat and true. It is thick heavy gauge brass/bronze I will include some oval head solid brass screws 3/4" long that match the finish perfectly(see photos)I like the look how the oval heads protrude slightly I feel it adds architectural character. The existing screw holes in the kick plate are beveled/recessed. You will never find a kick plate like this in any Big Box store. I guarantee it! All the best. Early heavy duty antique deadbolt rim slide lock vintage door lockset hardware
I have a very nice cast iron deadbolt rim lock for your consideration. This lock looks gently used if at all. Very nice reusable condition with matching heavy duty catch. Box is heavy duty as well measuring 1 1/8 inches thick. This is a rarer rim lock which has only an oversized deadbolt slide. No latching mechanisms. It has an early brass flat key tumbler that looks almost new. I opened the box and everything looks intact but did not want to try and move deadbolt for fear of flat springs popping out and not knowing how to replace in proper position. I assume that when you find a key or have one made that it will work nicely from its condition and appearance. Once again. I have no key. Lot of three. Vintage, used, old, metal, cast iron, large, door handles, pulls, possibly antique. These item sshow overall wear including scratches. Scuff marks, discoloration, surface rust found, the smallest handle appears to have been copper plated at one time and most of the finish and paint are missing, the large handle has unevenness and warping found to the handle. 2 original, vintage 1940s kitchen door handles and hardware, with doors attached
A pair of vintage 1940s kitchen cupboard door handles. With hinges and spring action latch mechanism, including the latch mounts for the cupboard frame. Handles and hinges are still attached to the original kitchen cupboard doors from a house constructed in 1946. The doors are 3/4 inches thick, in excellent condition, no warping or dents, a tribute to the quality of the wood. heavy, dense plywood with a curving edge, each door weighs 6 pounds) Painted with an off-white enamel, the paint has a few blemishes but is remarkably intact. The doors are designed to fit cabinet openings of 12" wide by 26" high, with a half-inch overlap, making each door a total of 13 x 27 inches. The door handles have that nice 1940s curve with a single crease down the center. They have a slight patina of wear but not dings, dents or scratches, with plenty ... moreof shine remaining(I did not clean or polish these) The photos taken with flash give a truer picture of the metallic shine. The non-flash pictures make them look yellowish. The hardware can be removed if that's all you want, although I think the doors are worth having as well.
