Appears to have never been mounted or used despite its cosmetic"issues" Reason I believe that is there are no"ghost ... moremarks" by, at or on any of the mounting or connecting holes or screws. Does have numerous paint flakes/chippage on the bell portion from years of age/handling& knocking around in some old parts bins, some plating finish loss, some pitting& light surface rust on the base some of which may clean up some& polish/buff out some, otherwise not dented or damaged, has a little wire"mouse hole" on the bottom edge for the connecting wire when surface mounted. Can't tell you any electric specs or particulars as there's nothing marked on it at all except for the makers name on the bottom, looks like 1266 Bell marked on the paper tag& Gaynor Elect Co, Bridgeport, Ct on the bottom plate. Has a nice"ding" when I tapped it with a pencil. Bell section is 2 1/2" in diameter& the base is 3 1/2" in diameter& will protrude 1 3/8" from mounting surface. Vintage General Store DOOR BELL RINGER with WROUGHT IRON MOUNTING BRACKET
~ CHARMING ~ ~ ANTIQUE VINTAGE WROUGHT IRON BELL WITH ORNATE BRACKET ~ PERFECT FOR COUNTRY. FARMHOUSE, COTTAGE DECOR. This lovely wrought iron bell with wrought iron mounting bracket! The bracket is rather ornate and measures 8 3/4" top to bottom and is 1/2" wide. It has scroll-like design and displays a nice hammered texture. The bell is smooth and measures approx. 4.5" top to bottom. The mouth of the bell measures 4.75" in diameter. It rings well and has a lovely sound! CONDITION: As with any antique/vintage item there are age related signs. The inside top of the bell shows rust. note photo# It is apparent that the screw/bolt that holds the bell to the bracket has. At some point been replaced.the screw cap is original. You can only see this if you invert the bell and look deep inside. This must have been replaced as ... morea result of corrosion over time. I also noted that the leather pull has been replaced to ring the bell.assuming the old pull had worn out due to age. There is one tiny fleabite out of the rim of the bell.please see last photo. Vintage/Antique Side Hanging Cast Iron Door Dinner Bell wtih Horse Farm or Barn
Here is a very nice antique cast iron horse door/dinner bell. This is not a large piece. It only stands about 5 1/4" tall but is really a nice old item. Mostly black cast iron, but the horse is a shade of brown, and there are a couple of tufts of green grass. You can see all of the'cracks' in the original paint. Looks like the eye might be hand painted. Bell is hanging from wire and has a strip of leather hanging from the end of it. A great sound to the bell. Stunning Old Vintage Fancy Wrought Iron& Brass 8 Bell Pull Chain Door Bell I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! I have to tell you- I sooooo don't think that my photos do this one justice- it was a real OMG shopping moment for me! What I have is an older vintage. Wrought iron and brass bell door bell. It mounts on the wall via the 4 screw holes(2 up, 2 down) and has a pull chain operation at the front. You can see that the iron has been pounded and wrought into a flower and leaf design at the front, with an arm that reaches out from the center onto which a chain is attached. ... moreThe chain is black steel that is looped at one end to form a handle and, while it works great to rotate the wheel of bells in the center, I do not think that the chain is original, I do think that it is a replacement- the patina is newer than the rest of the piece. The chime in the center is a round wheel onto which are pinned 8 brass bells vary in size slightly in order to give variation to the ring- but all are around 2" long by 1-2" diameter at the mouth. All are in excellent condition with their clappers intact. In order to operate, you have to take the chain in your hand and rotate it, thus rotating the wheel of bells. It has very much of a jingle bell sound to it when it's rotated. It measures 13 1/4" tall, 8 1/4" widest at the bell wheel, and will stand 8 1/2" deep from the wall when mounted(wall to the very tip of the rotating arm) It weighs a little over 4 lbs and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There's light surface rust that can be seen in some spots on the iron- mostly at the screw mount holes. I've only seen/sold one other of this type of door bell before, and it wasn't nearly as fancy- this one is very unique. Yo

Here we have a unique. Vintage, solid brass doorbell which is mounted on a piece of mahogany with brass screws. The board is 7 1/4"long x 6"wide x1 1/4" thick. The bell and supporting brass frame is nicely cast. The brass wheel is grooved to guide a cable; which. When pulled would rotate the wheel and ring the bell. All the brass casting are smooth and nicely done. The bell has a 3 3/4" base diameter, the top is 1 5/8" in diameter, the length of the bell itself is 3" and with the finial it is 4 5/8" tall. Even the clapper is solid brass. This would make a nice conversation piece or it could actually be used; it resonates with a very loud. Lingering and crisp ring. This piece has good age, is not modern; but, it has no makers marks anywhere, that I could see.
