Up for bid is an old metal cupboard spring latch with a twisting knob. I don't know what metal it is made of. But it is brown like brass with a gold finish that has mostly worn off. Antique Vintage Cast Iron Porcelain Eastlake Cabinet Door Latch w/Keeper
For your consideration is a Vintage ornate cast iron Eastlake Victorian style cupboard spring load door latch with porcelain knob. The door latch and the keeper do not match but not real noticeable unless you look closely. Door latch is 2" long x 1-1/2" wide x 1-1/4" high to the top of the porcelain knob. Keeper is 1" long and 1-1/2" wide and has some light rust. Spring in door latch is in nice working condition. Both pieces are untouched. So shows their original patina and character. Porcelain knob could use a cleaning. My uncle's career was repairing/refinishing/repurposing furniture for antique dealers.these items are from his estate. This is a heavy piece of cabinet hardware. I don't know if it was ever used. It may be brass. But I have no way of testing. This may be a reproduction, but it is not new. The combined size of the base when both pieces are together is 2 1/4 by 1 3/4 inches. Height is 3 inches with the part that moves in the up position.

Vintage Antique Brass Door Window Cabinet Lock Latch Unusual
Up for auction is an old brass and cast iron lock/latch. Its in good shape with a very nice patina! I do not have the key. But it is unlocked and moves like it was brand new. It works by pulling the handle up which would unlock it from the other piece. Its an odd style, but really cool. Don't pass it up! Item is sold as is. No international bidders please! It's a bit hard to read but I have had others which are more readable and are identical so I am confident that it is the correct date. Actually looks like Feb 7. 1871. It is in beautiful condition! No rust. The T bar turns easily and functions perfectly. It is complete, both pieces of the latch and with the original screws. It measures 2 1/8' X 2 1/8' when installed. But from age and drying the veneer back has a crack that does not affect it's use and can't be seen when haning on wall. It has a magnetic latch and shelves with glass door.
