The label shows pat. dates of July 22. 1919 and July 22, 1924. The parts are made of brass with a plated finish. The bolt cylinder is made of steel. The latch knob is apr. 7/8 inch in diameter. Old Vintage BRASS Cupboard / Cabinet latch / lock and keeper - with brass screws
This sale is for an old brass cupboard/cabinet latch and keeper probably from the early 1900s. It is in"AS FOUND" condition and has not been cleaned or polished. As you can see in the picture. It has an oval turn handle that turns freely. The latch portion is approximately one and a half inches side to side and two and an eighth inches top to bottom. The keeper portion is the same height top to bottom and approximately five eights of an inch wide. When you put them side to side they are close to a perfect square. Vintage Antique Brass Lock set and key, hinged latch cabinet furniture jewelry
Complete set. Brass lock with key. Key moves but can't get lock to work. It seems like the lock bar will move. But I did not want to force the key. Smaller size- latch part is 2" long, lock is 2 1/4" wide and 1 1/2" tall. A couple of dings on the latch, but overall nice shape.

Ok. So here's how these work. You mount the poly white piece to the cabinet and the round head screw in the door. When the door closes, the round head on the screw goes thru the poly sleeve and secures it. These work really well and the poly sleeves are still in mint condition. Not dry rotted or brittle. I used 2 of these on the doors in my kitchen that I don't want my grandchildren to get it and it makes the door impossible for a small child to open. My oldest is 20 months old and a boy. They work great where a metal catch just won't fit and they are much quieter than metal catches. I couldn't find any info on these things. They were in with some other old hardware I bought at an estate sale. Check out my other items from this estate.
