I am unsure of who made the knobs as there are no makers markings or dates but I would think they were made in the late 19th century. About the 1880's. The knobs are a standard size 2¼" in diameter and the overall length of each knob is app. 2½" The knobs are uncleaned and as found with an excellent surface patina. The only flaws worth mentioning are that the set screw in one has the slot of the screw messed up to the point that I was not able to remove it, the second knob has had the head of the set screw broken off, so the remaining screw section will need to be drilled or gound out to remove the piece of steel shaft that protrudes. As they sit this great vintage pait of door knobs displays beautifully and definately rate as one of the more unusual and beautiful door knob sets produced. This great antique door knob pair will make an excellent addition to someone's collection, shouldn't it be yours! Available now is a wonderful complete 5 piece set of antique victorian door knobs. Plates, locks, and every original screw piece. Manufactured by the Russell& Erwin Manuf. Co, New Britain, Conn. U.S.A, pat, Jan 29, 1889, manufactured June 11, 1889. Each set has been completely cleaned and cared for. They appear to be made from a combination of steel, copper plate and brass. Manufactured around the turn of the previous century. Each set includes 2 black porcelain knobs, 2 stamped iron escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with 1 working key, 1 iron strike plate for the door jamb, and a spindle with 2 set screws to connect the knobs. Almost all iron parts are copper plated. The amount of copper plating varies from part to part(see photos to compare) The ... moreshanks(bases) of the knobs are cast iron. And the escutcheons have a lovely oval form with beaded trim. At the point of salvage. All parts were covered with paint, rust, and dirt(see last photo) Since then, we've removed the paint and cleaned all parts to a uniform finish. The knobs and plates have some slight scratches but are free of breaks. Cracks, gouges, dents, or deep scratches. Some of the lock faceplates have small, light scratches and nicks-common wear from 100+ years of usage-but no breaks, cracks, chips, or dents. This is a hard-to-find Victorian Eastlake design by P.F. Corbin. This is the"Canton" design. c1905. Very ornate. This is a pressed steel plate with bronze plating. The bronze plating is now warmly distressed. Condition is very good. No cracks or breakage. No chips. No paint. No rust to the face. But there is miniscule oxidation on reverse. No bending or warping. Design is crisp and clean. Door knob collars are nice and round(no bends/chips) key holes are clean without rips or tears. Measure 5 1/2" tall. They are 1 7/8" wide. The doorknob well is 3/4" in diameter on front. It is 2 1/4" from the center of the door knob well to the center of the round part of the key hole. The key hole is 11/16" tall. We accept Paypal. Circa 1870-1905. They are heavy cast door plates. Condition is very good. No rust. No paint or varnish. They still have a good deal of their original brass plating whick in its current state is a warm aged brass. One is missing the reducer in the center of the doorknob collar where the spindle goes through(easily replaced with a washer) The other has an original mold flaw on its square door knob collar. They are completely ready to install. These plates measure 5 1/2" tall by 1 3/4" wide. It is 2 1/8" from the center of the round part of the keyhole to the center of the doorknob well. Two Vintage Antique Victorian? Glass Lamp Finials And Glass Brass Door Pull Knob
Two Vintage Glass Finials and a Victorian Glass Door-Drawer Pull. The Opalescent Finial is 3 1/2 inches long and 1 5/8 inches wide with a 1/4 screw hole. It has a chip on the top that is hard too see but you can feel it. The Shark tooth Finial is 1 3/4 inches long. It has cool bubbles inside. It also has a tiny rough spot on the top. I am not sure what size the thread is. The Victorian Pull has a 2 3/4 inch base. The Glass Ball is 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches. It is 1 3/4 inches front to back. I have a nice lot of 7 antique pressed glass door knobs for your consideration. Upon close inspection there are no cracks or chips. There is however a very very small flea bite along the outside edge of one of the knobs that you would not see unless you are looking for it. One of the knobs will need a dab of liquid cement since it does not seat properly in the brass collar if you will be reusing for its original intent. Nice reusable lot for possibly that hard to find match for your repair. Replace or vintage renovation. Fabulous lot for the collector or creative repurpose art mind. Would display well too. Set screws all spin freely for seating on a standard 1/4 inch threaded mortise driverod. Questions welcome other wise what you see is what you get. Flat ship is 9.90 to the lower 48 United States.
