7 Victorian Style ARCHITECTURAL Salvage Country American Wood Corbel Shelf Brackets Brackets measure 10 1/4 x 4 1/4 x 3 1/2. Identical. Composed of three pieces of wood(either pine or poplar) Stained a dark brown. These are reproduction and not antique but are at least 10 years old and have been used once that I am aware of. The finish is original. The outside pieces of wood are cut with a flourish design in the side. The center piece, which is thicker, is in a complementary design. The three pieces are nailed together. All are solid with a few cracks from drying and age. Three show no signs of use, Four have a nail hole towards the bottom(see last photo) These are custom made and not mass produced. It includes an 18" X 5" X 1/4" thick milk glass shelf with two brass shelf brackets and two 18" milk glass towel bars that each have 2 porcelain brackets. The shelf is smooth on one side and the other side has a front to back line texture. It has 2 chips. One on the textured side about 8" from the end and one of the back corners is chipped on the smooth side. The brass shelf brackets are marked with what looks like Will Wear Trade Mark. See pictures. The towel bars are in very good condition with one of the porcelain brackets having a piece missing. Could be repaired or still used as is. All in all a great vintage hard to find set. vtg shutter shelf stained wood w/working blinds & cedar new white metal brackets
Very old vtg shutter my grandparents used around the back wall above and to the sides of their bed. I used two new white metal angle brackets to make it a shelf. The holes were pre-drilled to prevent cracking or splintering of the wood. It measures 19 × 7 1/ 4 × 8 3/4 inches total. There will be other listing for uses of the remaining shutters. The shutter blinds do move both direction to allow for open or shut display. You decide on being hung with brackets up or down. The additional two boards are cedar tongue and groove not treated. I left the two brackets on and you could attach a piece of wood to hang something from it like season fabric. I did not predrill holes 16 inch apart or attach eyelets for a cable hanger b/c of not knowing which way it is to be hung/used. I do not believe the actual top shelf section of the bracket is original- it appears to be was added later. The carvings ... moreare 19th century, from the same circa/genre/source. The hanging hardware is also old(but sturdy) The overall condition is good to very good. The carvings have some very subtle areas where it appears a clear wood glue was used to fill the intricate carvings for added support. They are handsome and warm. Provenance– I have owned these since the early 2000’s. I purchased them from Neal Johnson Ltd in Charlotte NC. An established dealer(go on-line for more information about this company) Neal Johnson is a high end importer/dealer who purchases European antiques and architectural items. Set of 4 Antique Cast Iron Shelf Brackets - Snowflake Hexagon Design
This is a fabulous Set of 4 Antique Cast Iron Shelf Brackets. The design in the corner almost looks like a snowflake inside a hexagon border. With vine or curlicue accents. Each bracket has a bit of rust and one of them has more than the others. They are all solid, however, including the very rusty one. They are all usable. One is broken at one tip. Please see photos. Long side is 10" long Short side is 8" long The bracket is wider at the corner and tapers toward the end. The corner is about 1 1/4" wide and tapers to about 5/8" wide near the ends.
