Penn Antique Restoration. Antique 3"x12" Cast Brass Store Entry Door Pull. Heavy-duty. Exterior door pull salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. The pull consists of a backplate, a handle, and 2 nuts to connect the handle. The brass parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast brass, not plated steel. At the point of salvage. The plate has a stunning hand chased design on it. An assortment of flowers in circles arranged in a circular manner, with a central medallion that has a proud lion carved into it. Also with the plate are a pair of antique push up candlesticks. While all of these pieces now are two toned, there are signs that they were all silverplated, but most of the silverplate has worn off, leaving just recessed areas where you can see the remains of the original finish. Each piece also has an embossed or repousee shell and flourish or botanical design in border zones, around the rim of the plate, and the base of the candlesticks, the base of the candle or the node, and the bobeche. Inside of the candlesticks, where the bottom of the candle would be, you can see a maker's mark stamped inside, R& Co, with the number 8138. There is a Robinson& Co from Shrewsbury, United Kingdon, that is a possible match for the maker. We strongly suspect that the candlesticks predate Robinson& Co, dating to the late 18th or early 19th century. The candlesticks are quite heavy for their size. Penn Antique Restoration. 3"x10" Antique Cleaned Beveled Iron Push Plate. Charming. Antique push plate salvaged from Northeastern Mississippi. It is made of solid iron and has beveled edges. Originally. The plate was brass plated, however, much of the brass wore off over the years leaving it with a nice, distressed finish. At the point of salvage. The plate was found dirty and rusty(see last photo) Since then, we've cleaned it to the best of our ability. There are still a few spots of rust here and there, but that only enhances its distressed look. Considering that the piece was probably touched hundreds or even thousands of times. Vintage 1965 Porcelain Seven-Up Door Push Plate
Seven Up door push plate was made in St Louis. Mo. by Stout Sign Co and is labeled, 79, 4/65. It has some wear, and some rust on the edges where it would attach to the door, but is in relatively good shape. I got it from the local variety store where I grew up back in the 70's when they tore the store down and have had it housed in a closet ever since. It measures 31" wide and 4" tall.
