They were made to attach to a screen door so that customers could push the door with their foot without kicking out the screen. It measures 10 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 15" It is embossed. And it reads"Say Pepsi" with the bottle cap. The bottle cap is a double dot, so it is an earlier piece. As you can see there is rust on the front, and the paint is worn. Vintage early 1900 Bronze Door Pull and Push Plate
Dimensions: 17-5/8" x 3-3/4" Weight: 7 lbs together. These items come from the University of Wisconsin and were sold as surplus. Have never seen one like this and I have been around electrical plates for a long time. I feel that this is new because it is in good condition with a few small scratches. Light pitting and knicks from being transported. This was in a box lot of a bunch of plates and I believe that's were the wear came from. The back is void of markings to determine origin. Welcome to my auction for antique hardware. This push plate is new. Made by Sargent and Company in New Haven. CT. No. 892 The size is 12 inch by 3 inch. It feels heavy and is likely brass or bronze. The metal is very glossy as you can see in the picture. These hardware items were originally purchased by my uncle in the 1930’s; but never used. He was a carpenter by trade and built many beautiful homes. I have clasiified all these items as used; since I did not buy them originally. It is possible that there is some discoloring of metals or flaws over the years. I am no expert on cleaning these up. So I am leaving everything in“ as found in the attic” condition. Let me say again this item shows no wear or use. Everything is being sold as is. So look close at the pictures. I have taken several photos of most item. Huge Cast Metal PUSH PLATE SET FROM DOOR Wooden Handle Antique Sargent Co. Store
This is an amazing find! It was in the back of a barn at an estate/moving sale. The lady thought her uncle had once run a"general store" and presumed this was on the front door. It is quite large. Measuring approx. 16-1/4" x 4-1/16" and with a long wooden handle. There are two metal plates, one for each side of a door. Made by Sargent& Co. 3rd photo shows their mark. It weighs over 6 pounds! The piece with the handle has been repaired, but it was very well done- with some type of stabllizer on the back. Somehow, it just ads to its character and shows the age rather well. This is a lot of six vintage switch plate covers. The double switch plate is solid brass while the others are a brass finish. The double measures 4 1/2" square while the others are 2 3/4" wide x 4 1/2" high. The brass finish covers are worn as you can see in the pictures and there are some small dings or bends.
