Threaded spindles, back plates, mortise locksets, strike plates, and a fair amount of brass screws in a few different sizes and shapes. They only thing not included in this collection are the Skeleton Keys for the locksets. As with most antique hardware and knobs, these pieces have old white paint on them.some just a spot or two, others a a full brush stoke. The paint is easy to remove from the knobs and the face plates. One of the glass knobs has some surface scratches on the end of the knob, otherwise eggsellent condition with no chips or cracks. ... moreA couple of the brass face plates and rosettes might have a dint or minor dent- nothing major, but noted for accuracy. There are a total of 23 antique clear glass door knobs and a single old hollow metal door knob. I was able to assemble 7 complete door knob sets. One set has been finished in chrome on one side and has matching hardware(a strike plate. Latch and rosette face plate, all in silver with silver screws) Two of the connector loops on the actual latch mechanisms are bent and need repair or replacement. The door knob sets that I put together include the following parts: 2 glass door knobs( 2 of the door knobs are missing one brass tightening screw each) a threaded spindle with latch mechanism in the middle a door latch a strike plate to match 2 brass rosette face plates for the knobs 8 screws. 4 rounded smaller ones for the rosettes& 4 flat top brass screws for the latch and strike plates There is a large door knob and lockset that I pieced together– I am not sure if I put it together right. I purchased this for my Victorian home about ten years ago. I moved out long ago and this was never installed in my house. It is from The Brass Knob Architectural Antique store in Washington DC. It still has price stickers on most pieces. I pieced together a full set that I thought was gorgeous and went together well. It also works. I guarantee it or your money back. See shipping and return information at the end of this description. Included are everything you see pictured: Two faceplates. Two doorknobs, one lockset to insert into the door, a lock in the lockset without a key and another Corbin lock with a vintage key, a door jamb plate with screws. You will only need screws to mount the antique faceplates. The door knobs are an identical set. I cannot find a name on them. The lockset has a lock in it, but there was no key, so I bought the ... moreCorbin lock with a key to have inserted. Everything is vintage except the piece you screw into the door jamb, that is shown in the plastic bag. Everything works. The deadbolt turns and moves well. There are two faceplates. One is 8 3/4 by 2 3/8 inches. The other one is 11 1/2 by 3 1/8 inches. The knobs are 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The deadbolt thumb turner is 1 3/8 inches. The white painted plate is 1 3/16 wide and 7 15/16 long. The part of the lockset that gets inserted into the door is 3/4 inch wide. 5 1/2 inches tall, and just under 4 inches deep(including the thickness of the white painted plate) Each Knob has a six petal flower center. There are tiny flowers decorating the edges of the larger plate and some type of crest with tiny urns decorating the smaller faceplate. The larger faceplate is marked $55. The smaller one $65, the lockset $30, the knobs $110, and the Corbin lock and key and new door jamb plate are not marked. The'new' door jamb plate is 4 7/8 by 1 7/8 inches and comes with two wood screws that are one inch long. It is shown in the plastic bag it came in. I know nothing about what I have. UP FOR AUCTION IS A CORBIN MORTISE DOOR LOCK IT HAS 2 KEY HOLES AND BUTTONS AND DEAD BOLT ON SIDE, The deadbolt is thrown by the lower keyhole from either side of the door. The split spindle allows the doorknobs to rotate independently and the buttons on the lock face provide an additional independent level of security(with or without the deadbolt) Pushing one button in keeps the outside doorknob from turning(the strike will not retract) You can still open the door by the interior doorknob. With the buttons in this position you can enter the house using a skeleton key in the upper keyhole. It retracts the strike and you would simply push the door open. Pushing the other button in allows both doorknobs to rotate so the door can be opened from either side. I do not have keys for the upper or lower keyhole function. Lockwood Mfg Co No 3 Mortise Mortice Skeleton Key
Lockwood Mfg Co is stamped down the handle. With the number 3 stamped where the handle and the shaft meet. There's a mark to the side as well, but I can't tell if it's very tiny engraving or just a mar on the metal. The handle and shaft are flat, but the key portion is barrel(not hollow) The key portion is fairly intricate, which makes me think it wasn't your average lock that this key worked with. I bet there was some kind of expensive treasure behind this key's lock. This key measures just over 2-3/4 inches long. Is a silver-tone metal that has a black patina stating, and it is attracted to a magnet- which makes it either steel or iron. I see no signs of rust. I accept Paypal. My eBay name says it all.liquidators. I was an eBay seller back in 2000 and I sold to meet a financial goal. Life has a way of taking over such that when my goal was hit my inventory just sat in storage. Well. I have to admit not only did it sit but over the years I have added to it. Due to my fiancé in all likelihood having to move overseas due to work in 2015 and me tagging along I HAVE TO liquidate my inventory. And yes, I have that much that I need to start now.
