Please let me begin by apologizing to the bidders and watchers who were interested in this item prior to this revision by LOWERING THE PRICE A BIT! The listing was erroneous hence corrections made and here we go again. This highly ornate and well made m ail slot is by far the securest and safest way to receive your mail. Right in the privacy of your own foyer! This is a beautiful wrought iron affair which includes the faceplate for the front of the door and an additional plate to compliment it on the inside of the door to keep the curious from being able to peek inside through the slot. I'm sure it also helps to keep the frigid air from getting in also! The paint on the front piece has chips in it as you can see in the photo's, the inside plate kept it's paint pretty well intact. The paint does not look so pitted as it appears ... morein the photo's it looks much smoother. The dimensions of this beauty are 9.5' x 2' 3/4 The screw holes are 7' apart. Vtg Arts Crafts Tudor Mission Mailbox Mail Box Slot Key Latch Newspaper Arms
Up for auction is an old heavy metal. not sure if front, top and arms are cast iron~maybe you know? wall mount mailbox with newspaper arms for the bottom. It was found at auction so I don't know any history or specific age. No names or brand identifying marks on it. Im not even sure of"style" You be the expert and judge! The little slot flap can be left to swing or closed. The front is hinged and opens downward. The arms will not be attached when shipped but the screws are taped to them and this was how it was when found. I have not taken them off so there could be some tape residue which will need cleaned. The front cover, top and arms have a rough knubby textured finish and the sides, back inside of the box is smooth lighter weight metal. There is a little piece which extends through the cover when closed with a hole in it ... morewhich I'm thinking could be used for a little lock to be used. That is what separates this listing from most others! I would describe it as being in fair to good used aged condition. It has a nice aged surface appearance now. With the rough textured front cover and top being distressed with a little rustiness. It could be clear coated or painted(in my opinion) for use. see photos) I believe it probably had a little clear window covering for the little window peep-hole as there is little holders on the inside but there is NO glass or plastic. You could easily slip a little piece in the holder to protect your mail from the weather. There is paint and/or whitish plaster type material on the backside where it was previously mounted-used. There is no structure issues dents or dings. Its overall a nice old piece but I always try to be more critical in my descriptions and will not call something mint if it's not! It measures 6 1/2" in width. 10" in height from the tallest back side NOT counting the arms which will extend approx 6" more when attached, and its 2 3/8" in width closed not counting the top little roof overhang. I believe the photos show it well.

This is one of two vents that I have listed they are a pair and they are out of my Grand fathers estate. The vent itself is an antique the embellishments( fluer de lis) I'm not sure. The screen itself is very solid and seems to have been bonded with epoxy to the vent and the fluer de lis are also bonded to the screen as well. Could easily be brought back to original by popping out the screen There is what appears to be some gold leafing on parts of the vent. LARGE & HEAVY Vintage Solid Brass Mail Paper Slot Door and Chute
This mail slot was salvaged from the door of a 1920's house in Dayton. Ohio. The entire unit is solid brass.and QUITE HEAVY. It took every fiber of my being to not clean the brass on this slot or the interior door piece. There is a dull patina to the brass. But there is also paint. I will leave it to the purchaser to determine what level of"restoration" this gets. This is one of those big. Heavy duty, beautiful and functional rarities that when you touch it you think, They just don't make stuff like this anymore.
