Antique Vintage Lockset 'Russwin' Brass Door Knob Lock Set 1930's
Here is an old lockset that was removed from a home that was built in the 1930's. The latch is marked'Russwin' And all of the knobs/roses/escutcheons are brass. The knobs are stamped brass, and each have a hairline crack on the underside; though this doesn't seem to compromise their structural integrity(see pics) The brass shows some paint, scuffs and scratches from years of use, as well as a nice worn patina; check all photos for condition. The lock face is slightly distorted from the previous installation. But the latch operates properly(see pics) There are no keys included. Most of the original mounting screws are included. I have an old cast iron rim lock for your consideration. Box measures 4 x 3 1/8 inches. Springs feel decent for reuse where the gear drive engages and disengages latch slide. Lever for latch lock engages and disengages lock for latch. There is no key so you will have to use without deadbolt until you either have a key made or find one that works. Will need a good cleaning and lubrication for optimal use. Im including a keyhole cover. Driverod, and a rosette. Door knobs properly flanged on necks. Catch has a small chip on underneath side although will still work. Could be repaired by a welder reasonably easy and would not be seen on underneath side either way. Questions welcome other wise what you see is what you get. Flat ship is 5.95 to the US. Thanks for looking.

GREAT Vintage Solid Brass Industurial Handle/ Deadbolt Lockset!! Got 2 See It!!
Here is a beautiful solid brass industurial looking handle and lockset. As you can see from the pics. It is of course used, tarnished and in need of a good and proper cleaning. It is aprox. 10" tall x 4 1/2" wide at the handle/lockset area and it is aprox. 1 3/8" thick at the area where it would fit on the door. There is no key for the unit. The only markings that I could find was the word"patented" at the deadbolt area. The inner workings are dusty and have some grease buildup. The lever does work the deadbolt. There are also some scratches on the knob where the key lock is. After looking a little closer, I did find a patent date on the inside that is June 6, 1899.

large antique rim lock vintage skeleton key lockset hardware pre civil war 1842
I have an early pre civil war rim lock for your consideration. Large heavy cast iron measuring approx. 5 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches. Upon inspection appears to be functional and intact. Original knobs were not acquired with this so you will have to fabricate something on the drive neck which is on the box on both sides. One of the coil springs came off as I was inspecting for the latch privacy lock but I am pretty sure I replaced it properly. It is an unusual lock and I am unfamiliar to its design. It also appears to use a larger than normal skeleton key which I do not have for the deadbolt. You will have to find a key or have one made if you are going to want lock your premises while away. Nice privacy lock if you want to fabricate a flush strike plate or find a surface catch that will work. It consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 brass mortise cylinder, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, 1 steel spindle with 1 setscrew and 1 securing pin connect the knobs, and all 8 of the original screws to fasten the parts to the door. All brass parts are solid. Brass, not plated steel. Except for the escutcheons which are stamped(pressed) brass, all brass parts are heavy, thick, cast brass. Originally, all parts were nickel plated, and surprisingly, most of the plating remains! Period black fire glazed red clay doorknobs, cast iron keyhole cover, cast iron rosette, and a standard 1/4 inch drive rod for your consideration. I had a Corbin skeleton key that worked so I included it. Not original to set. Although would not be too hard to find the original with all the skeleton keys being sold here on ebay if you feel so inclined. I have an early example of a surface rim lock for your consideration. Rare find in working condition. Will need a cleaning and some minor peening for optimal use. Large skeleton key operates deadbolt slide to lock premises while away. Privacy deadbolt slide engages and disengages nicely. Large ornate iron handle operates lift for latch smoothly. Flat knob on handle looks to be cast and peened brass. You will need to find or fabricate a large keyhole cover for opposite side of door. These were typically pressed steel rather than the later cast iron manufacture. So should be easy to fabricate something. As well you will need some sort of catch for latch lever to engage and hold to. Depending on your application could be a flat strike or surface catch. You might want to use a flat strike of some sort as well for a flush jamb application. Upon inspection looks intact although could use a cleaning and lube for optimal use. Here's an amazing lot of gorgeous mid-century style doorknobs/keyed entry sets. Plus a dummy knob. In total there are three keyed knobs with turn-button on the reverse knob, the keyed entry with deadbolt(perfectly functional) and one dummy knob. Rare vintage find to have such a large group! All are marked"Schlage" but we have been unable to find exact model. Heavy, solid, smooth action. They don't make them like this anymore(not for the price! We've assembled them and they all work; there are keys to open the locks. One knob does not want to slide all the way on its shaft. But perhaps it needs coaxing? We don't want to damage it. It's possible that it won't fit, but it sure looks like it should. Otherwise each unit is complete(missing screws- we've included some but they might not be the right ones) and ... moreappears to be very gently used. There are paper instructions/template and plastic latch receivers with them, probably not from this set, but came with it so we are passing them along. The knobs are perfectly cylindrical in shape. Nice heavy lock box with catch. Period porcelain doorknobs, cast iron rosette, ornate keyhole cover and standard 1/4 inch drive rod. Lock box measures 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches. Knobs have appropriate flanging for door and box side of lock. Privacy latch lock lever engages and disengages lock for latch. I do not have a key for the deadbolt slide so you will either have to find a key that works or have one made to lock your room while away. Still quite a bit of original paint. antique rim lock Victorian skeleton key vintage door knob catch lockset hardware
I have a nice early cast iron rim lock with catch for your consideration. Lock box manufactured by Corbin. Standard 1/4 inch drive operates latch and the secondary latch lock lever engages and disengages latch lock nicely for privacy while in room. There is no key for the deadbolt slide lock. You will have to either find one or have one made to lock the room while away. Included are a pair of old discolored porcelain doorknobs with iron necks consistent with their age. Cast iron ornate keyhole cover, cast iron rosette, and a standard 1/4 driverod. Doorknob collars are tight for reuse. Knobs have appropriate flanging for inside and outside of door. Will need a cleaning and lube for optimal use. Springs feel good for reuse and appears internal parts all look intact upon inspection. Box measures aprox 4 1/8 x 3 1/8 inches. lot antique Victorian Eastlake mortise locks doorknobs vintage lockset hardware
I have a fabulous rare lot of old Eastlake period door hardware for your consideration dating to the 1880's. These are direct drive from doorknob to latch drive. No drive rod. Doorknobs simply snap into lockbox by depressing latch armature and sliding neck collar end into place. This is high quality cast bras or bronze manufacture made by Niles manufacturing Co. of Chicago. Solid cast backplates have a beautiful ornate geometric floral patterning on them consistent with their age. Large bulbous doorknobs look that they might have had an unusual original pattern mimicking a wood grain? Lock face plates have similar patterns. There are two sizes of mortise locks. The larger has a face plate size of 1 1/16 x 6 3/8 and the smaller has a face plate size of 15/16 x 5 5/8 and both have a face plate thickness of 3/16 of an inch. Both mortise ... morelocks appear to have a standard 2 3/8 inch offset. Face of mortise lock to center of key barrel. I do not have any keys that fit so you will have to find one or have one made for these. Subsequently I was not able to test the deadbolt slide. The latches seem to work fine and springs feel good for reuse. Most of the original screws included which are brass or bronze as well. Sorry forgot to remove the matching strikes.You will have to find some that will work with this configuration. This is a nice hard to find lot of old door hardware for your renovation or repair or for the vintage hardware reseller.
