Backplates and lock set features the Candler family coat of arms of an angel with a sword in one hand standing over a crest with six horses. Underneath is a banner reading"Ad Mortem Fidelis" which translates to Faithful Til Death. This is not the usual Candler coat of arms offered online and after much research. I was only able to locate several references to it's use and that was by the Asa Candler( the man who brought you Coca Cola) There are several references in books describing this crest including it shown on the cover of a book by Asa son, Charles Howard Chandler. There are also references of Asa Candler using it in brass door knobs, mailboxes and other hardware. I have including a photo of his use of the coat ... moreof arms in a stained glass window and the cover of his sons book(it is very small and I had no success resizing it) The only difference I see is the horses are standing while on the backplates I have listed, they are running(like foxes) I come from an area close to where many of the Coca Cola Heirs have homes. That said, your guess is as good as mine. I do know I have not found any others like it online, for sale or that had sold in the past. Great antique condition with age appropriate wear/spotting and scratches indicative of use and storage. Should polish up if you so desire. No breaks. Cracks or repairs. Pella lockset for older Pella french doors
So. Funny story, well funny odd, not funny ha ha. My husband and I moved to a new house two years ago. The neighbors seemed nice and they asked us to watch their dogs for them while they were away. They didn't give us a key because, hey, they never lock their doors. Okay, eventually, we asked them to watch our dogs and we gave them a key to our house because we have lived all over the country and we DO lock our doors. Turns out our neighbors are crazy and have since threatened and screamed at us on more than one occasion. When I asked for my key back, they refused, so long story short, we had to change our locks. There is nothing wrong with this lockset and considering it cost us $60 to order a new one from Pella, I thought that someone might be able to use one for a fraction of that price. Here's what I know about the door that this ... morelockset came out of. It is an older model door with no identifying numbers. When I called Pella, they told me to look down between the two panes of glass(the blinds are sandwiched between the two pieces of glass) but there were no numbers there. They said that this meant that the door was from their earliest models. I think that they said before 1985, but don't quote me on that one. I added photos that I thought might be helpful for you to match your door to this one, but if you have any questions, please ask. The lock worked fine when we replaced it and it comes with two working keys and the instructions for how to install it. If you win more than one auction. This FACP was taken out of a church that needed to upgrade their panel due to a large building addition/renovation. there is nothing wrong with the equipment. The system functioned properly. However, there is an additional dialer inside this unit that was never connected(it was a local sigling system) so I am not entirely sure the dialer will function, but the actual fire alarm panel works properly. this unit is still programmed to the previous users needs and may need to be reprogrammed. Just informing you that there may be some troubles or faults on the panel when it is powered up due to the zoning on the panel. once EOL's and/or devices are connected or panel is reprogrammed to your needs, this panel will function perfectly.

IL around the turn of the previous century. It consists of 2 bronze knobs, 2 bronze escutcheons, 1 iron lock with bronze faceplate, 1 bronze strike plate for the door jamb, 1 bronze cylinder mortise w/4 working keys, 1 spindle w/2 setscrews to connect the knobs, and 10 installation screws to fasten the lock and plates to the door. All bronze parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not stamped(pressed) bronze or plated iron. The knobs and escutcheons have a fantastic. Egg& dart design, which is accentuated by a beautiful, rich, original patina. All of the dark greens are pure verdigris-not paint! We know that not everyone is a fan of patina, ... moreand if you prefer your hardware clean and shiny, although it would break our heart, we could clean and polish all parts prior to shipping for an additional $30-email us after the auction if you are interested. The set was salvaged from Northeastern Indiana. We found it in excellent condition with no breaks. Chips, cracks, gouges, or deep scratches. About the lock: The lock is reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. The mortise lock is locked by pushing the top button on the faceplate. And unlocked by either pushing the bottom button or using a key. Once locked, the door could only be opened by turning the knob on the interior side of the door, or by using the key on the exterior side of the door. This is a very convenient feature for the person inside of the room. No more locking and unlocking to let someone in. Simply turn the knob, open the door, let someone in, close the door and it's already locked. To disable the auto-lock feature, simply push the bottom button. The lock was opened inspected. There are a few places were the brass wore off, but the majority of the plating is intact. The set is considered. New Old Stock, which means that it was made a long time ago but was never used. Aside from the tiny nicks and light scratches in the plating. All parts are in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, dents, or deep scratches. The knob collar of the exterior plate broke or fell off at some point and someone re-secured it with solder. Although the repair worked and the collar is secure. The silver-colored ring around the collar stuck out like sore thumb. We removed most of the solder with some steal wool and a lot of elbow grease. Whatever solder remained will be concealed by the knob. On the exterior plate. There is a crack in the bottom of the knob collar, and a few small dents and scratches around the hole where the mortise cylinder goes. Otherwise, all parts are in great condition with only the typical small nicks and light scratches that you would expect to find on 100+ year old hardware. About the lock: The lock is reversible and could accommodate either a left or right swing door. The buttons on the lock faceplate control a function. Which disables/enables the exterior knob from turning. Once the bottom button is depressed, the exterior knob will not turn, and the upper latch will remain extended, in the locked position.
