victorian LATCH antique CAST IRON door "ACORN" lock OAK TREE keeper PULL & CHAIN
For sale is another antique victorian period Latch with chain. What is so unusual about this is the size in so much that this one is rather small with the body itself measuring about 3" long by about 1 5/8" wide(if you include the mounting holes) So it is not tiny but it is not big like many of these I have seen. It has a black painted finish and what looks like an acorn and leaf oak tree sort of motiff which is quite lovely and uncommon! It is also in excellent shape and might be'old-store-stock' It does have some light wear from age and some oxidation on the metal pull chain but this is all to be expected from a hardware item that is perhaps 125 years old or so! As far as the keeper I am not sure if that is original to the lock or not. It came in the same pile when I bought it but just not sure. Threaded, steel spindle to connect the knob. All brass/bronze parts are solid brass/bronze, not plated steel. The lock is fully reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. If it is not functional, you could also buy a new cylinder for the same price. The handle and mortise cylinder plate have a lovely. Arts& Crafts style design with lovely spade-like forms. We removed the set off of an old. French, entry door(see last 2 photos) At the point of salvage, all parts were painted and dirty. Since then, we've cleaned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. Considering it's age. The set is in great condition! There are some small nicks and scratches here and there, which are typical for old, used door hardware. However, there are no breaks, cracks, or gouges. The lock was opened. The backplate measures 8.25"x1.25" and the handle measures 1.75"x2.25" They have a brass finish, but I don't know what the base metal is. It is not steel, so may be nickel, brass, or maybe another material. Some of these are still in the original packaging, but I can't guarantee that the small nails to hold the backplate on will be included as they may have fallen out over the years. Iron Entry Door Pull with an antique Middle Age Motif
This door pull is a little over 16" in length and is one inch square. The distance between the two extensions that attach the handle to the door is 11" The extensions are 3" in length from the square pull and the rectangular area that affixes itself to the door is approximately 1" x 3/4" The pointed ends are approximately 2.5" from the edge of the extension pieces. The most striking feature of the handle is the bold vintage design. It reminds me of the middle ages or possibly a Moorish design. It is a simplified four piece design. Please. Review the photos. Two Vintage Antique Victorian? Glass Lamp Finials And Glass Brass Door Pull Knob
Two Vintage Glass Finials and a Victorian Glass Door-Drawer Pull. The Opalescent Finial is 3 1/2 inches long and 1 5/8 inches wide with a 1/4 screw hole. It has a chip on the top that is hard too see but you can feel it. The Shark tooth Finial is 1 3/4 inches long. It has cool bubbles inside. It also has a tiny rough spot on the top. I am not sure what size the thread is. The Victorian Pull has a 2 3/4 inch base. The Glass Ball is 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches. It is 1 3/4 inches front to back. Antique Victorian Eastlake Brass Or Bronze Door Handle Pull
This is an ornate antique Victorian Eastlake brass or bronze door handle or pull. I would date it 1880s or 1890s. Based on its design. It's a very heavy piece. Weighing 4 pounds exactly(1.814 kg) I'm not sure if it's brass or bronze. But based on it's weight, I would tend to think it's bronze. At its longest point. It measures 13 inches(33 cm) It is 3 3/4 inches wide(9.5 cm) When attached to a door with its two smaller pieces, it protrudes out 4 inches(10.2 cm) It's a great looking piece. The detail is classic Eastlake. There's no company name on it. But I'm sure it was made by a skilled craftsman. Except for some tarnishing. There's no damage to it. If you’re a buyer who not only wants an antique handle but also one that looks old then this just might fit the bill. I gave these a hard rub down with an oiled rag then cleaned them before giving them a high quality oil base clear coat to protect the patina. These are pressed steel most likely from around the 1920s or 1930s. These were used originally as widow lifts but they can also be used as screen door ... morehandles or drawer pulls. These originally would have had a brass finish but that is mostly worn off and they now have aged to a fantastic spotted smooth rusted appearance. The reproduction people can’t come close to this look no matter how hard they try. These are light weight but strong and durable. How many big and small hands and years do you think it took to wear away the brass finish? The grasp has a 3” grip opening or what I would call an average size hand 4 finger pull. The measurements are taken at the attachment base: 4 ¾” long x ½” wide with the center to center of the screw holes being 4 1/8” Free first class shipping in a padded envelope. Great original cabinet pull with nuts& bolts. Clear glass. No paint on them. Some fairly invisible scratching, less than I'd expect for pulls of this age. 3" between the holes. Pull has been acid-cleaned to remove any trace of rust. Though it possibly could be brass(it is non-magnetic, except where there is a small sleeve that goes over the end of the post that inserts into the bell) Excellent condition and beautifully preserved gilded finish. It may have been paired with a bell I had purchased years ago.
