Antique 1910 Arts & Crafts Cast Brass Entry Door Set Knob Plate Lock Lockset Key
Penn Antique Restoration. Heavy Duty Arts& Crafts Entry Door Set Knobs Plates Lock*Please note that there are no mortise cylinders included with this set. Beautiful. Bold, entry set salvaged from Northeastern, NJ. The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 1 large brass escutcheon, 1 brass rosette, 1 brass thumbturn, 1 brass anti-theft collar, 1 steel lock with brass faceplate, and 1 split spindle with 2 setscrews. All brass parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast brass not stamped brass or brass-plated iron. Although there are no markings, judging by the design, I am pretty sure this set was made by"Russwin" of New Britain, CT. Unlike most old-fashioned mortise locks. Which have rectangular deadbolts; this lock has cylindrical bolts with odd-shaped heads. When you turn the key, the bolts spin as they spring forth from the lock. The spinning ... morecauses the heads to turn in a corkscrew manner. Because of this feature, this will require a special strike plate with circular holes, not the typical rectangular holes. Unfortunately, we don't have any compatible plates, however, I don't think it would cost too much to have one made-less than $50 for sure. We do not have any mortise cylinders that will fully extend the latch. Our cylinders only push it out halfway. However. You can stop at any locksmith shop to buy one that will work for this lock. The knobs and escutcheons have a lovely design accentuated by a grainy texture on the faces of all the parts except for the lock. At the point of salvage. The set was found with many layers of paint and was heavily tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've removed the paint, cleaned, and polished the set to the best of our ability. All parts are in great condition with only a few signs of wear like nicks and scratches. Otherwise there are no breaks. Cracks, chips, dents, or heavy scratches. The lock was opened, inspected, and we sprayed WD40 on and around all internal parts to facilitate their movement. This is not your typical vintage or antique set of hardware. I

The set consists of 2 bronze knobs, 2 bronze escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with bronze faceplate, and 1 spindle with 1 setscrew and 1 securing pin to connect the knobs. All bronze parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not flimsy wrought/stamped bronze or plated iron. One knob, one escutcheon, and the lock faceplate were nickel-played at some point, but some of the plating wore off. We didn't include a strike plate for the door jamb. However, if you need one, we could sell a bronze strike plate lock for $12- email us after the auction if you are interested. Old Antique Brass San Francisco Fire Department Door Plate Plaque Unique
Up for sale is a brass San Francisco Fire House stamped brass plate. I do not know the history of this plate but it appears to be very old. It looks like a door push plate that would be nailed to a swinging door. It has 4 small pin nail holes in each corner where it would have been attached. It has great patina but could be easily cleaned up if you wanted to. It has a picture of an old horse driven steam engine and other firefighting items on it. There is a lot of detail on this and would make a great wall hanger or door plate. HUGE KBC Drawer Door Pull Handle and Plate Antique Brass Gothic
Large door or drawer pull or handle from KBC. It is some sort of metal. I'm unsure which kind, it sorta looks like pot metal to me but it is pretty heavy and has an antique brass finish. There is some green"patina" tarnish on the backside so unsure if that helps you figure out what kind of metal it is. The"plate" that goes behind the pull is 12" x 6 3/4" The pull itself is 9.5" and the holes are 6" apart. Seems very gothic to me. Comes with its original two old screws. Has some tarnish but I think overall it just goes with the antique finish! The plate is marked N6618, the handle N6244 66 PCS KBC. 1890's Ornate Bronze Victorian Door Knob , Plate & Lock Set #2
This auction is for a vintage thick bronze or brass door knob. Plate and lock set. I have more sets listed that are just as nice from the same home and I can combine. The knobs are 2 3/4" tall. They come with stem and screws. The plates are 8 1/16" x 2 3/8" The face of the lock is 5 11/16" x 15/16" The lock is in working order. The spring loaded catch is reversable so this will work on either a left or right handed door. I will mail to the U.S. only and payment is due within 3 days of aution closing.
