Antique, original entry door set made by"Norwich" of Norwich, CT during the late 1880's This set consists of 2 bronze knobs, 1 bronze escutcheon, 1 bronze rosette, 1 bronze keyhole cover, 1 bronze thumb turn, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze face plate, 2 working keys and 1 spindle with 2 set screws. All bronze parts are solid, heavy cast bronze- not stamped or plated iron. We found this set with the 4 parts with it. so we added a period rosette, keyhole cover, and thumb turn from our collection to complete this set. Antique Glass Door Knobs Lot of 7 glass knobs. Included: 7 knobs. 6 plates. Note 6 of these have same brass fitting with detail, the 7th knob has a different brass more basic brass fitting- please see image pointing this out. Condition: Spindles are attached(jammed) on two of these. However, I did not put great effort into detaching them(figured prying them off may damage glass) Metal parts are pure brass. Door plates are also pure brass. No chips in glass. These are obviously old. I'm guess 1940's, so the naturally come with wear and tear, a little paint. Please note screws that hold knobs onto spindles are not included except for the one different knob attached to spindle- in this case. The hex screw spins and will not surface. More to come. The set consists of 2 steel knobs, 2 stamped steel escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock w/1 working key, 1 steel strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 threaded spindle with 2 setscrews. The knobs and escutcheons have an elegant. Art Deco style design. At the point of salvage. All parts were dirty and unevenly tarnished. Great lot of 8 green Depression Glass drawer or cupboard door pulls There are two different sizes and two different styles of these solid glass knobs 4 large matching pulls in hexagon shape measure about 1 1/2" across. 2 smaller pulls also in hexagon shape are about 1 1/4" across. 2 more smaller pulls with 10 edges rather than the 6 edges in the others measure about 1 1/4" across. No chips or cracks or repairs in the glass knobs. There are a few bubbles in the glass- these are quite old. Screws and washers have light surface rust and some screws are longer than others. 6 Full Sets Antique Arabic Pattern Door Knobs & Back Plates Mallory & Wheeler MW
Up for auction is a large collection of Mallory and Wheeler doorknobs and backplates in the Arabic pattern. There are enough sets for six doors! Backplates measure about 6 3/4" x 1 3/4"and are marked M.W. Co on back. The knobs measure about 2 1/8" in diameter. With domed.or raised front. Not sure if these are brass or bronze, but they all have patina and some oxidation. There are six spindles for the knobs, but you'll need to get 11 set screws, as there is only one there. These can be found through many hardware sources; the one left will allow you to verify length, diameter and screw thread count. There is one knob, seen in fourth photo, that has a shorter part attached to back where the spindle goes in. Looking closely, this appears like it may have come from the factory that way, I'm not sure- remember, factories ... moreweren't all computer perfect back in the 1800s. But this part is hidden within the backplate's protruding circular part. There is one extra backplate missing that protruding part that I'm including with this set, which you can find some fun innovative use for in the home. So there are"twelve plus" backplates. Antique Corbin Brass/copper door lock set/plates/knobs/lock/no key July 17,1900
This is a old door lock set that we removed from our antique door. It looks like brass or copper not sure which one or both. It surely needs to be restored as needs some cleaning. The date on the back of the plates say July 17.1900. The plates are two different sizes one is 7" and the other 10" It says Corbin on the lock. It looks like a matched set because of the dates on each of the plates and the color. It looks like black with the copper and brass. On the lock at the top it has a S34. That's about all I know.
