Antique leaded window / door brass ring & hinges oak wood frame 17 x 17 1800's?
Window/door was given to us 30 years ago by a relative that had razed a house in Kentucky(we believe) We packed it away thinking we were going to use it in our log home but that never happened. The frame is oak(we think) It is put together with finger joints or notches. The see through window looks like glass but we do not know that for sure and are attached with what we believe is lead. The window has 2 hinges on one end and a brass ring for pulling open. We believe the house was built in the late 1800's and was torn down before 1980 and know for sure that this was from that property. But do not know if it was built with the house. It looks very old and in good condition for it's age. If we remember correctly, it was in the dormer of the house. It is dirty and could be stained. Up for sale is one large lot of Yale&Towne Hinges. Door knobs, backing plates and letter doors. The have a Pat. date of Nov. 1887 They also have a marking on the back that says Solid Yale Silver. This listing is for a set of 3 pieces~ TWO 4-inch STANLEY door hinges and ONE larger hinge w/a hook-like thing. Each 4" hinge says"PATENTED MARCH 14. 1922, MADE IN USA" And the larger one with the protrusion reads"PATENTED OCT. 28, 1913, MARCH 14, 1922, MADE IN USA" I do not know exactly what the one is w/the"hook" or protrusion-type thing. Was it for security of some kind? I don't know. These pieces came out of the demolition of a 1930's building in Southern California. This, as well as a few other listings of hardware, is what I have left that I forgot about in my garage until this past weekend. Three large 5 X 5 brass 5 mounting holes to a side. They need to be bead blasted to remove the paint but they are brass under all that gray paint. The back I cleaned on one is brass and the two screws for decoration are also brass. They are very substantial in size and weight. They are 1/4 inch thick at the hing pin.
