Another one of my estate sale Relics. The hinges are estate fresh. And could use a detailed cleaning. The hinges are cast iron with a brass pin. The hinge on the rights pin is half way out and needs to be pounded back in. I put some water on the right hinge to bring out the details. The hinges would have been door hinges for a very old cabinet. They measure 2 1/2in tall x 3 1/2in wide, opened flat. These aren't trunk hinges, and would have gone on a door. Very nice display advertising model for"Big 4" roller barn door hinges. Nice store display or can be used for any architectural project. Big 4" National Mfg. Co. Sterling. Ill. Hinges and hardware have never been used, only for display. Some spots of rust on some of the metal, I have lots of pictures so you can check that out. There is a logo in the center of each hinge that is stamped with the Big 4 and the pat. date, which is April 24, 1906 and the mfg. name. Hinges slide on the 27 inch track, shows how nicely they work. The two door rollers are-3.75 inches, work great. The washburne latch is missing. The wood frame is in nice condition and gives a nice presentation. Hardware can be easily removed and is ready to use for any project, if your not interested in a display model. Vintage Lot of 4 Farm Door / Gate Metal Strap Hinges - Various Sizes
Here are 4 antique Strap Hinges for a Farm Doors or Gates in various sizes. From small to large they measure: 1) 8 1/4" full length when laid flat by 1 1/2" wide- from center of hinge to tip 4" long. Each side has holes for 3 screws. 2) 12" full lenght when laid flat by 2 5/8" wide- from center of hinge to tip- 6 1/8" long. Each side has holes for 4 screws. 3) 12 1/4" full length when laid flat by 2 1/2" and from center 6" Each side has 4 holes. 4) 16" full lenght when laid flat by 3" wide and from center 8" long. This one also has 4 holes on each side. All 4 have a lot of rust and wear but do open and close easily. The 12" one also has a bend on one side just above the tip screw hole. It looks like they used a hammer or bar to pull it out and bent it. I took an extra couple ... moreof pictures to show this to you. I found these in my Grandparent's home in Iowa. Antique Swinging Door or Cafe Hinges, copper metal door handles locks
You are bidding on a lot of antique metal and copper swinging door hinges. Door hinges, metal door knobs, latches and locking mechanisms. My favorite of the lot is the 2 copper hinges that measure 4.5" high x 3.25" wide. Also included are 2 swinging door hinges that do work but need to be cleaned up a bit. They meausure 3.75" high and 3" wide and they do work! There are 4 metal door knobs(2 measure 2.25" in diameter and 2 measure 2" in diameter. The larger door lock mechanism of the 2 is marked RHCo and the other is not marked except for a 2 printed in 1 corner. Again the corrosion is only on the surface and the 2 sets of hinges can easily be cleaned up. There are also 2 latches and 1 bar that the knobs screw on to. Came right off the barn, The hinges I have pictures of is 7, but 2 of them are not moving, the other 5 are just fine. I'm sure just need to have some paint and rust removed out of the hinge part, otherwise in great condition. Antique Salvage Early 19 c. Forged Iron Door Hinges Old Paint Flange Trade Sign
Great architectural salvage pieces. My good friend has done it again! He saves pieces from homes slated for demolition and brings them to me.these are special. Straight off of a door from a home in Ol' New Orleans.early 19th c. Very possibly earlier, hand forged, large and heavy, iron door hinges. Rustic and coated with chippy, original and early paint. Original white underneath, a coat of hunter green, with a top coat of a different green.with the later coat being decades old. As a testament to age, these pieces are perfectly imperfect, very prim. The attachment plates are a bit different in size(one has a tiny 1/4" age related crack in it) The iron posts are pegged and soldered into the main plates. Each hinge measures approx. 15.5 long" x 1 3/4" tall. The plates are 1.5" wide x 5 1/4 and 4 7/8" tall.
