Antique, exterior door hinges salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. Each hinge is made of solid, heavy, thick, cast iron and has an acorn-shaped finial on each end. Originally. The hinges were coated with a black enamel paint, however, much of the paint wore off over the years leaving them with a nice, distressed finish. About Lift-off Hinges: Each hinge consists of 2 halves. Which are connected in the center by their"knuckles" The knuckle of one half has a pin and the other has a mortise. The knuckle with the mortise sits on top of the knuckle with a pin; gravity holds it in place. To separate the halves, you simply"lift off" the half, which is sitting atop the other half. Once installed, these these hinges will allow you to simply lift your door off of the jamb; no need to remove the hinges; no tools or spending time. At the point of salvage. The hinges were painted white and dirty. Since then, we've removed the paint, and cleaned and polished the hinges to the best of our ability. Penn Antique Restoration. Pair of Antique Cast Iron Victorian Steeple Tip Door Hinges 4"x3 1/2" Exquisite. Antique door hinges salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. They are made of solid, heavy, thick cast iron. Each hinge is beautifully embellished with a lovely Victorian style design, and has steeple finials on both ends. At the point of salvage. The pins wouldn't budge, and the hinges were painted, dirty, and rusty. Much time was spent removing the pins, and thoroughly cleaning the hinges in attempt them to bring them back to their original splendor. Up for auction if this pair of cast iron rustic looking large door hinges. the double sided hinge are 1-1/2" thickness between prongs. And measure 5" to 5-1/4" where they extend along the door edge. They are 2-1/2" at their widest and the hinge portion extends 3-1/2" They appear to be hand forged, but I am not an expert. They are in very good condition and have never been used. But there are signs of rust around the hinge areas, and some scratches where the black finish has rubbed off. They weight over one pound each and are very heavy duty. ANTIQUE BARN DOOR HINGES We have some old items to sell this week. Most have been shelved in the barn or out building and stored for many years. Things that were just sitting taking up space. Old misc. furniture hardware. Lots of cast iron hooks, lights and a few other unique items to list. These hinges and straps are very structurally sound. The hinges move and fold like they should with ease. Not stiff. Sorry for a couple pictures with only 4 hinges, I found 2 more and added them for the total of 6 hinges. All are the same matching size etc. We are honest and very easy going about selling here on Ebay. Shipping is for the lower 48 states only. Pick up at our home is free. Set of 4 Cast Iron 1800'S STEEPLE TOP VICTORIAN HINGES Eastlake 2 matching Pairs
Fabulous set of 4 Victorian cast iron hinges. Beautiful design, very sturdy and in fine working condition. They are all marked 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 on the back, they measure 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and 5 3/4" steeple tip to steeple tip. They each have great patina with much oof the original black paint intact, and some naturally occuring light rust where the paint is missing, no chips, cracks or repairs! Vintage Door Hinges - Lot of 5 Cannon Ball Top - 2 Copper; 2 Cast Iron; 1 Brass
Here are 5 Vintage Door Hinges all with cannon ball tops. I found these in my Grandfather's workshop and he was a contractor in a small town in Iowa from the 1920s to the early 1960s. Included in this listing are: 1) 2 black cast iron hinges. The plate is 4" long and with the ball pin 5 3/8" long by 4 1/8" wide full width and approximately 2" from the center of the hinge pin to the edge. I couldn't find any maker marks on these. These are very dusty and do have some scratches and a some rust especially on the hinge pin and ball tops. On one of them I couldn't get the pin all the way in(see last picture) There are 4 screw holes on each side. 2) 1 brass hinge- made by Stanley. The plate is 3 1/2" long and with the ball pin 4 3/4" long. It's 3 1/2" wide full width and 1 3/4" wide from center ... moreto edge. There are 3 screw holes on each side. 3) 2 copper hinges with a ton of paint still on them. These are the L shaped style which I think is called a half Mortise but am not positive. They are 3 1/2" long by approximately 4" wide- full width. One side with the indent is 2 1/8" wide and the other flat side is 1 7/8" wide from the center to the edge. The indent is about 1/2" deep. Again. All are worn with scratches, paint, rust and wear and the one cast iron pin doesn't quite go all the way in. I prefer to use Priority Mail with tracking. But with the increase in postal rate, I've added the Parcel Post rate with tracking so that you can chose the service you want. Please remember the Post Office doesn't guarantee the delivery date for Parcel Post. Also, I do combine shipping whenever possible to help save you money. Because these weigh so much- over 3 lbs, it's cheaper to use the Priority Mail Flat Rate Box* International buyers. Paypal is required for purchase.
