ANTIQUE French Garniture Mantle Clock Set 1800's Bronze Brass Marked Dostal Key
ANTIQUE French Garniture Mantle Clock Set 1800's Bronze Brass Marked Dostal Key This is a beautiful set. Incredibly heavy and ornate, in need of a little TLC. The exterior is either bronze or brass and at one time had been all gilded. When I purchased it, it looked rough and someone had tried to polish it with brass cleaner. My goal was to remove all the dried up brass cleaner and have it regilded. Unfortunately, I had no time or money to get this done. It has sat in the garage just begging to be fixed up. It's also missing a spear or sword on the cherub. It measures 22 inches high by 11 inches wide by 6 inches deep. It has an enamel face which is in a very clean condition with no major chips or cracks. There is some minor wear to the inside portion of the holes where the key went. The hammer to the bell has been resoldered at some ... morepoint. There are some holes on the back of the candelabras which may suggest they had armatures to each, or not. Just disclosing all I can find. The underside of the clock is marked with"DostaI 351" and on the back of the clock mechanism I see a 3 and a 5. Each candelabra is marked"C.D. 351" confirming this is a matched set. It's currently working, a beautiful bell strike on the hour and half hour. But I haven't been able to get any clocks to ship and work at the destination, so consider it in need of a"tuning" when you receive it. This is an extremely heavy set and will cost quite a bit to ship. My shipping estimate won't cover it all since it will need to be shipped in separate boxes. This is a lot of 13 classic oval key hole covers of various sizes. Some of these were removed from old interior doors. And some were never used. The 8 shown on top are not magnetic. Most of them are brass, but the black ones on the left and the chrome one on the right may be stainless steel. The 5 shown on the bottom are steel. The key hole covers vary in width from 15/16" to 1- 1/4" and in height from 1- 11/16" to 2" Two or three of the brass ones are a little pushed in around the key hole. Some have scratches. Matching Set of 4 Brass Wall Sconces w/ Etched Glass Shades Greek Key Design
Four restored. Matching, early 20th century brass interior wall sconces. Backplates are decorated with stepped rings around the perimeter. Simple tubular brass arms terminate with an keyless antique sockets. Sockets have been rewired with UL approved 18/2 wire and new cardboard insulators. Each socket utilizes antique UNO style marked 2 1/4" shade holders marked USA around the perimeter. Etched glass shades feature a clear greek key design around the perimeter. One shade does have two small chips on the bottom opening, see image 8. One of the four shades also has a purple tint to it. It is subtle, but worth mentioning. It is the shade on the far left in images 1, 5, 6, and 7. Two of the sconces to have some splits in the perimeter of the canopy. They are on the part of the fixture that is common with the wall. Vintage YALE padlock with original key. Works perfectly. On this type of padlock you have to push the key in firmly to lift the shackle and then rotate the key to turn the shackle in a open position. Body of lock is made of steel and shackle appears to be brass or bronze. Original key is made of steel. Spare key appears to be aluminum. Original key and shackle are both embossed with Yale& Towne Mfg. Co. Very solid heavy feel for this lock. Dimensions are 2 1/2 inches high by 2 inches wide. | CHELSEA BOSTON ALL BRASS MARITIME CLOCK with KEY, You are looking at a beautiful example of a Chelsea Boston Maritime Clock. The owner purchased this clock from Marshall Fields of Chicago many years ago but said he never used it. When I received the clock from him it still had the Red Tag on the back with the key taped to it with some very old Scotch tape. The last picture shows the tag and key witch is no longer taped to the clock. Due to its age and lack of use we had the clock cleaned. Adjusted and fresh oil applied. Now it runs and chimes just as it should and will for many years to come. Overall diameter is 5.5 inches, Interior dial is 4 5/8 inches thread to thread, Has screw off Bezel. Clock is in outstanding condition. No dings, dents or scratches and no tarnishing of the surface. The glass is also in pristine condition. Original ... moredial is in new condition. Clock has kept perfect time since coming home from the watch makers shop. All I can say is it Runs great. Movement and Bells work just fine. I believe this vintage padlock is brass but I do not know for sure. It has'Lawrence Warehouse Company' engraved on both sides. The padlock measures 1 3/4" x 3" The attached chain measures 9 3/4" long. Unfortunately. The padlock is locked and I do not have the key. I must say that this piece has great patina.
