This was a really Nice Estate find of a Antique Collector. The Norwalk Marked Lock has wear throughout. Rust, paint over the years etc: One side is Marked NORWALK L CO and the other side has the Patent Date which is July 21 1863. With that said it is old and Civil War ERA. The set had an additional knob and some other pieces which are rusty and I cannot confirm if they belong. The knobs have wear one being more than others with obvious chips in the knobs front surface and some on other back surface. With all said this was to Special to not purchase and offer to collectors and some restoration work it would be fabulous. I personally think it is amazing as is"Civil War Era" how neat. Antique Cast Brass Cabinet Door Lock~Patent Date June 29 1897~Marked "R" "271"
It’s hard to believe this beautiful antique cabinet door lock is over 100 years old! The back plate is stamped with the Patent date of June 29. 1897. I gave it a good cleaning and the jewel I found underneath is just wonderful. The brass shines as if it was cast just yesterday and the hinge works as it should, lifting enough to move the latch bar on the side. I do not have the key, however, it should not be difficult to have one made. It measures 4” tall, 2 1/8” wide and has a ¾” bar off of the side. Detailed condition can be seen in the pictures. 19th Century Metal Bound STAGE COACH TRUNK Refinished JENNY LIND Style Lock
Beautiful Refinished 19th Century Stage Coach Trunk Solid Wood. Was covered on the outside w/ paper, but most of paper was gone paper was cleaned off. And trunk was sanded, and finished leather straps were added to the trunk. Original ones were gone I chose these straps. As the design on them was much like that of the original paper: The handle on the left side(when facing the front) is the original handle. Amazingly still very sturdy, the other is a replacement, matches very well The loop at the top above the lock is a replacement. Matches the handles The lock could presumably be made to work again. But doesn't at this time, I don't have the key either The lock is beautiful. It is a Jenny Lind style lock, very intricate and beautifully designed The inside is totally lined with leather. Two Sets of Antique Door Knobs w Back Plates-Mortise Lock Porcelain-Wrought Iron
No Reserve and ready to sell this old box of assorted antique doorknobs and hardware that I found tucked away on top of a rafter inside of a garage that is being torn down. The bidding is for all contents inside the box which includes two sets of doorknobs. Two back plates and one copper finish cover plate that has swirls and three small flowers. The first set of knobs are black porcelain and the other set seems to be a mismatch of sorts, one knob has a scallops and a leaf motif in dark wrought iron finish which is also m agnetic. The other knob is antique brass with ribbed sides and smooth top resembling a sun or sunflower. The back plates have been cleaned; they were completely covered in thick enamel paint that had chipped off. Both have skeleton key holes. But no keys were found inside the box. The locking latch box is working and the ... morelatch that keeps the door closed does move back and forth when you turn the knobs. The dead bolt goes out and stays out until the inside mechanism raises to release without sticking. Tested without a key so no guarantees that it will work each time. Item Photos, Hello and welcome to the auction and thank you for viewing.I believe that this is for a Chinese lock for a camphor wood chest or similar large chest.I think that it is made from brass and it measures about 7.1m. by almost 2cm. by 2.9cm. in height.To the front is a Chinese character and there are various illustrations to the sides and the bottom including a fish and a bird.It is fairly chunky and weighs about 110 grams unpacked.One end is designed to take a key with the keyhole in the shape of a Chinese character.This item I believe would have come back with our family from Hong Kong when we returned home in I estimate the early 1960's after my dad was stationed in Hong Kong.I would think that it was purchased in Hong Kong but my parents had spent time in Singapore in earlier years.Two camphor wood chests also came back with ... moreus.It could have been secondhand at the time. The condition is good.There are some scattered marks.I have not tried to clean or polish it.I don't know if the mechanism is working as there is no key. This Bronze Escutcheon is ornately detailed and has recessed keyhole. The keyhole plate is replaceable in order to accomodate differing keys& locking mechanisims. I dont have the catch for this latch. This latch has a nice looking old patina. I am not sure of the age of this latch. This latch is in very good condition. GLASS DOOR KNOBS ART DECO FACE PLATES AND LOCK SET NICE SHAPE
Glass knobs measure 2 inches across. One has 1/8 inch chip on edge, nothing that takes away from the handle, I found it by feel. They both have a light yellowish tint, similar but not as dark as a canary diamond, that was very hard to photograph. I don't think it's because of age, but I am no expert. The plates measure 1 1/2 inches wide and 6 inches long. The lock set 3 1/8 x 3 1/2 inches, not including the edge cover, which measures 5 1/2 inches x 3/4 inches. Vintage Bone Horn Handle Pocket Knife Antique Collectible Early Lock Back
This has to be one of the earliest lock backs I've ever come across. Solid 6 pin construction. Early horn handle with great patination. Seems to be all original. kind of reminds me of early Marbles. No marking on blade or handle. Some slight rust or corrosion.a few small nicks on handle. Slight play in blade. But does lock back. Measures 5 1/2" closed and a full 9 3/4" open. Nice early piece!
