Antique Gilded Brass Reliquary Monstrance- Our Lady of Lujan- Stigmata Nails(Please see see more fine estate pieces in my eBay store. An estate find. An antique gilded brass Reliquary Monstrance having a central circular receptacle with a clear glass window front with a circular silver medallion depicting the figure of Our Lady of Lujan(Nuestra Senor de Lujan) the Patroness of Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. This piece dates from 1890's to the early 1900's. The medallion may be the relic and is"loose" or been placed in the housing of the receptacle and is not attached. The receptacle has a hand fabricated cylindrical brass cap which can be removed by twisting it off. The reliquary receptacle is framed by a cast cruciform frame with four applied copper"nails" which pierce the frame at the directional points corresponding ... morewith the cruciform wounds of Jesus. The exterior of the frame is a filigree floral design with a cross finial at the top and at the bottom is attached to the central rod of the stand. The cast base is attached to the central rod and flares out in a six floral petal form. This artifact came from a Toronto family estate of avid collectors of Catholic religious objects which at one time were used in Catholic church communities, including Latin America. This antique reliquary was acquired in Latin America and has a patina on the surface which indicates that it was extensively handled, most likely in religious ceremonies. There are no hallmarks to indicate the maker of this item or the medallion in the housing. This item would make wonderful addition to any collection. Antique wood washboard all wood with carved wood ribs nails used are rusty
It is a very large washboard-25" by 15 3/4" It is hand made. And has a slight cast of white to it from all the soap used way back. It really is a treasure and fewer and fewer of these hand made old pieces are seen today.

The knob on cabinet door does not look original otherwise a beautiful piece Drawer is nicely worn on bottom slides with patina wear from use with burl wood accents. Dark oxidation on back wood, which we think is poplar, front dovetail with rear peg construction drawer, all of these are solid indicators of age and authenticity Some blocks were added on bottom underside corners to install caster wheels which will be included with purchase Lock needs key and we do not know if it functions. ANTIQUE 1780's BLANKET CHEST COFFER INTRICATE CARVINGS This is an absolutely beautiful blanket chest coffer. It is a phenomenal piece of history. It dates to about 1780's. It features intricate carving on the front. Chamfer back paneled, HANDFORGED heart shaped handles, hand wrought rosette nails and square nails, dovetailed joints, wood peg jointed which is all typical for the period. The top has some cracks. It has some newer flat head screws in the top(still older screws) It appears to have been cut down and looks a little uneven when I look at it. Overall this piece is still super solid for the age! Antique, Unique, Victorian Porcelain and Brass or Tin Thumb Tacks/Nails
This item is a group of ten. Decorative antique thumb tacks or thumb nails or brads(size of small brad but head of a nail) made of porcelain and either brass or tin. It looks like thin brass. But when I look on the bottom it is white metal so I think it might be tin) sitting in Styrofoam to protect them. The thumbnails have a very nice patina and the porcelain is fairly clean and white(see photos. The nails run the gamut of conditions from straight to a bit curvy but all can be used as thumb tacks. The head of the nail/thumbtack is in the middle of the porcelain and then the decorative metal is added. As can be expected. There are flaws and some rust areas. Each is about ½” wide. Some of the nails are a bit rusty so care must be taken if you plan to use them to hang something on a wall. I can combine shipping.

These nails were in the keg for all these years and most only have thin layer of rust and some have little rust. They could be used today if you have a restoration project you need nails for. Here is what I have. The keg was full with a mix of nails so I sorted them and kept ONLY the square nails. The total weight is 29.5 pounds and each pound has approximately 85 nails for a total of 2.465+ Nails. So the Keg would look full I put in a false bottom 7" from the top and filled that 7" with the square nails. Hopefully you will not find any stray round nails but I could have missed a few. In all my selling antiques. I have never seen an unbelievable shoe/boot/cleat like this. It has the original square nails, is quite heavy for its size, and it is said that children would place these in front of the fireplace or Christmas tree so that they could be filled with candy. Notice the small place for candy. The shoe is not totally hollow. The maker left the front, as I have tried to show, nail up so that the front could look torn and worn torn, showing the nail keeping it open. The attention to detail is amazing. It is in pristine condition for a shoe that is probably about 100+ years old. Being it was embedded in the wood telephone pole and not exposed to the weather and elements and was protected. These nails were driven into the end of cross ties detailing year installed. All 1930's and 40's. All are approximately 2 1/2 inches long head is 1/2 inch wide. I am not an expert and strive to describe my listings as accurately as possible. Imperfections are noted. But occasionally I may miss something that is important to you.
