Here is about a pound of genuine. Antique cut square nails. I found these in an old former blacksmith shop more than sixty years ago and the shop had been closed for many years, so they are definitely antique not modern reproductions. These are a finishing nail size which is great for repairing antique furniture, or home restoration. They are about 2" long. I have been using these nails in our antiques business and they are a perfect size for many purposes.

Antique Hand Forged IRON STRAP HINGE ~ 39" Long! With Nails ~Great For Coat Rack
This is large antique hand forged iron strap door hinge.it is 39" long and 2" in width at its widest. It still has the original old hand forged spike nails in it. Which all have curled ends from where they were curved back down at the ends to be secure into the door this hinge once graced. It is in its original state with appropriately enough surface rust. A couple of the nails are loose and will move around but the rest are frozen in place with all the hooked ends going up in the same direction except for one(which I am sure could be loosened and moved)so I picture this as an awesome hook rack to mount on a wall.for a practical purpose such as coats or hats.or herbs.OR decorative to hang candles, dried flowers.or some old primitve items. Antique Primitive Painted 19th C Bookcase Southern Heart Pine Square Nails
A great primitive bookcase with lots of character. It is made out of Southern heart pine with gorgeous patina and pattern on the backside. Has original. Old black paint over even earlier barn red paint. Early pieces of furniture like this were usually multifunctional and compact so they didn't take up too much room. This bookcase has a slim profile, and little cubby holes for storage and 4 shelves. At one time it had a drop down shelf, making it useful as a desk; sadly that part is gone leaving holes where it was attached and the break in the wood where the square nails are visible. The nails and the colors of paint used, black and barn red paint are early colors, leads me to think this bookcase leans towards very early 1800’s, could be earlier or later, I’m not an expert just did a little research about primitives. Antique Blanket Chest (wooden hinge) hand crafted, hand forged nails? 6 plank
I am not an expert in antique furniture and I will try to describe the little blanket chest to the best of my ability. The measurements are 31" X 16" X 17" The exterior of the piece show wear with nicks around the base. The top was originally a solid plank but has been repaired in the past to keep the plank from cracking more. What is so unique about this piece is the wooden hinge system it has. Clearly this piece was handcrafted. On the inside you can see the panel has been tooled maybe by hand? The pins and nails used(with the exception of the newer repairs) appear to be hand forged. The bottom is removable in two pieces not sure if the two pieces were originally joined together at one time. The piece has been oiled and no other attempts have been made to restore this. I do not know the date of this item nor do I know the ... moretype of wood used in making this chest. If anyone knows more about this piece I would love to find out more information. Antique Victorian Glass Star Sulphide Picture Hangers Tiebacks 2 with Nails
Four Victorian picture hangers or curtain tiebacks. The two smaller pieces have their nails and measure approximately 2 1/2" in length. The round tops with green stars are approx. 3/4" in diameter and look to be in very good condition. The two larger pieces show more wear and do not have their nails. Please see photos for details of their condition. The tops with the white and black stars measure just over 1 1/4" in diameter. I am describing these to the best of my ability. I really am not an expert by any means in this area. So I have tried to look at similar items and describe accordingly. I pulled these nails out of a very. Very old stool. I peeled off layer upon layer of upholstery fabric and the final. Original layer was secured by these nails. I honestly feel bad because I think I inadvertently destroyed a piece of American history by going to town on this stool. If I had to guess. These nails are at least 100 years old. Maybe even older, but I can't say for certain. There are 3 different types of nails- see detailed pics- and range in size from 3/8" 3/4" Some are bent. Some aren't, all are rusty. EARLY ANTIQUE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE WALL SHELF CABINET CUPBOARD OOAK BUTTER CREAM RED PAINT SQUARE NAILS* Up for auction is wonderful one-of-a-kind wall shelf. It's definitely not American and is likely from England or points East. It has some nice detailing. Adorable knobs and a pleasant color. It's a soft yellow/ butter/ cream color and has red trim. The paint is probably original and is worn, chipped and nicked here and there. It's old, it's Primitive and the paint is all patina-ed aged just the way we like it. It likely would have hung on the wall. But it even looks cute sitting on the floor. There are 3 little drawers in the middle. The two on the outsides measure 4.25" W x 5" D x 3" H. The middle is a little larger and measures 7.75" W x 5" D x 3" H. The drawers are dovetailed/ mortised as ... moreyou can see in the pictures. Then there is a shelf above the drawers and it's 7.75" H and two shelves below the drawers. The middle shelf is 9.75" H and the bottom shelf is 9.5" H. The whole cabinet measures 32.25" W x 34" H x 7" D and weighs 25 lbs. Check out the nice detailing on the side panels. There's a nice scrolled cut out that's oval in shape with some cuts out of it. There are two turned balusters. One left and one right. The drawers have some nice wooden drawer pulls as you can see in the pictures. These look to be original. On the back of the cabinet it's never been painted. Except for a little spill over from the front. There look to be some square nails(see picture of the back) but most of them are round nails with some slotted screws here and there. The left and right panels were cracked at one point and the right one has some damage at the top. Shown in the pictures. This is probably from trying to pick up the cabinet by the sides as these are just wings hanging out there and should not be used to lift it. I think it is in the style of Early American Hitchcock type chairs, but I don’t know much about furniture so I’m just guessing. There are no nails or screws in it, it all just fits together. It measures about 11-1/8” tall, 6-1/4” wide, and 6” deep. There is a lot of surface wear to the painted decoration and the surface of the wood. Very. Very charming.
