The old finish is very well preserved with warm antique patina and lots of stains and shrinkage separations from age for character. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster. The back of this primitive American made furniture is rough sawn. With the red interior and the early square nails this is likely a Pennsylvania Dutch Piece. It is all hand fitted. Is 13 x 6 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches in size, and it has a heavy varnish or finish except on the bottom. Condition is used for quite a few years. You can see that the board on one end has a piece missing on top. That there are several cracks, particularly on one side and to a lesser degree on the bottom. This nice. Large, antique wooden cutlery tray is probably made of pine and is made with flat nails. That noted, and the wear on it, it's probably from the 1800's. Measuring around the top edge, it's 17" x 11" The handle/ divider has a repaired(I can see glue residue) crack running its length. There is also a chip out of the wood at one end of the divider, exposing a nail. It has scratches, dings, scuffs, and other wear befitting its age. Check out my! This is an awesome old butler's tray in really nice original condition. It is a three-sided serving tray made of solid mahogany. The outer maroon vinyl is held on with tack-head nails. And all original hardware is present throughout. This tray measures 24.5" wide, 18" deep, and 5" high. This is the perfect size to use on your ottoman to hold candles, remotes, or even actual food! Offering a genuine hand made antique in this victorian era mahogany hooded doll cradle. The cradle is well made with many visible wrought iron black square nails or tacks. Wood has attained nice dark mahogany patina, great woodgrain throughout, golden hues. All very solid and tight, one rocker tip missing as shown, small chip from top rear corner. Overall a beautiful little hooded cradle in very good condition for 125 yr. old child toy. Measures about 17 in. long.

REDUCED$$$ I SHIP QUICK! Beautiful old Jenny Lind stage coach trunk that is lined with paper. May have been a child's toy box at one point. This has old metal straps and I believe there are SOME square nails as shown in the 5th photo. Nice patina that has been cleaned up with some lemon oil to show the wood grains. Handles are wood! The latch does not work so when you open it you will need to push lightly where the lock plate is and it will open just fine. You can see where there are some new screws to secure the lock when it could not be opened without a key. There are a few others areas that a new screw or two have been added where they are missing to secure the straps or hinges. There is a split in the top but it is solid and only adds to the vintage look of this old piece. It is a nicely made. Solid little trunk. Used Old Antique Round Nail Head Nails Lot of 50
This auction is for 50 antique nails which were found in my house which was built in 1850 and had various additions added over the years. I tried to save these in case someone else would have a need for them. They could be used in vintage furniture restoration. Crafts, numerous projects for the antique effect. They are approximately 1.25" long and have a round head and a round body. These nails are what is referred to as"wire nails. By 1886. 10 percent of the nails produced in the United States were made of soft steel wire. Within six years, more steel-wire nails were being produced than iron-cut nails. By 1913, 90 percent were wire nails. I am not able to say for sure what year these particular nails were made. All these nails are used. Rusty and some are bent, but not many. Mostly surface rust which can be cleaned up and straightened ... moreand reusable. Not all nails are exactly alike or even exactly the same size. This listing is for a display pack of old fashioned cut nails from Tremont Nail Co. A fascinating bit of architectural history. Would make an interesting display for historical architecture enthusiast. Packaging has some yellowing due to age. But is intact with no tears and still holds nails securely. Nails have surface rust, which I did not attempt to clean as some might see that as a design feature. I do think it would clean off easily though, if you wanted it gone. See photos for details.

19th C ANTIQUE MINIATURE CHEST DOCUMENT BOX FOLKSY PAINT DECORATED SQUARE NAILS
Up for your consideration is a folksy early paint decorated miniature blanket chest or document box. The paint is old within 20 years of chest being made. It's thin layer that has adhered to the chest very well and is very strong. There is some paint droplets on top, that are not original as shown in photo#2. It is constructed from solid black walnut with square nails. Its very heavy weighing about 12 lbs. It measures 17 1/4" Long By 10 1/4 deep( top) 10 1/2" deep(bottom) and stands 11 1/2" tall. It has age related stress wear by hinges. See photos, but it has no hairlines that run the entire lenght of top bottom or sides. I purchase this chest 18 years ago from an avid collectors estate sale in Lewes Delaware. I do not know origin of chest(probably DE) I do remember. Lot. 1940's. Antique vintage hand-made wooden doll furniture couch. The nails appear to be very old style. Very primitive construction. It is marked with pencil on the bottom. This was an estate sale find so I have no idea of the actual age of the piece. The patina on the wood has rich color. It came with some doll furniture I am listing. Antique Primative 18th Cen. 6 Board Blanket Chest Green c.1790 Rose Head nails
PICK-UP ONLY! A rare. Old, authentic six(6) board blanket chest found in South Carolina. Based on the construction and the rose-head nails, the chest(blanket box) has been dated at around 1790. The boards are made of pine and in surprisingly good condition. There are a few signs of wear. Such as some of the trim is missing from the bottom and top, the locking mechanism is missing and one of the strap hinges is not attached. Also, the till is missing. The hinges are hand made(forged) individually by a blacksmith. The original nails are also individually made by a blacksmith, there are some other nails that have been added later, some for the purpose of attaching some sort of lining, possibly, most of the original nails are in place, I took a photo of 2 of the rose head nails that were in the bottom of the box, one of them appears to be for ... morethe loose strap hinge. There are at least two modern screws that I found. One was put in one of the hinges and another was put on the bottom board to help secure it. The chest is very sturdy and strong. not rickety at all. You can sit, or even stand on it(not that I would) I am asking a fair amount for this very old work of art and important piece of Americana, but I will entertain all reasonable offers. As for shipping and delivery; I am not prepared to ship this large box. With a width of over 42 inches(height and depth are both around 17 1/2" I do not want to try shipping this. I am listing it as; for PICK-UP ONLY. I will try to work with you as best I can. And might be able to meet you half way, if its within a couple hundred miles of Fayetteville, NC I'm not sure if the hideous green paint is original or not.

All nails are assuredly straight and in excellent condition for novelties of vintage. these nails all are coming out of a barn and house[built in 1860] being torn down by me at one board and nail at a time. It is a myth told of Maine that this is the old barn where the legendary Paul Bunyan years ago would house his team of oxen. how true this is,is beyond me, but i have discovered several items of oxen relation in this barn through it dismantling.
