R&E Victorian Antique Ornate Exterior Lock Set Mortise Latch Bronze 1893
Quality Russell& Erwin R&E Antique Exterior Lock Set mortise latch in excellent condition circa 1893. Solid cast bronze. Ornate latch is signed on the dead bolt with Russell& Erwin Mfg. Co. and patent date of 1893 on circle around locking screw. Mortise latch face measures 1 1/8" x 7" Mortise box measures 3 5/8" deep. 5" tall and 5/8" thick. Latch is in excellent working condition. Distance from center of spindle opening to top round keyhole opening is 1 3/4" Distance between round keyhole openings is 1 5/8" No damage and works great. This is an old cabinet lock with 2 keys. This antique key and lock set was probably originally from a box. Furniture drawer, or cabinet. It is marked Excelsior and USA and Stamford Conn. The keys open and lock the lock without problems. The keys and most of the lock are steel. The barrel portion of the lock is brass. The face plate is 1 3/4 inches by 3/8 inch. The plate on the inside of the box is 1 3/4 inches by 1 15/32.The distance from the front of the faceplate to the center of the lock barrel is 3/4 inch(backset) There is some surface rust on the part of the lock that would be hidden inside the cabinet.

Mortise lock has a face plate of 7/8' wide. 5 1/4' tall, 3 1/8' deep. The backset for the knob spindle is about 2 3/8' Comes with one tested and functional skeleton key. I test the key multiple times on both sides of the lock to insure fit and function as well as the knob spindle. The strike bolt can be reversed for doors that swing the other way. A great piece of antique hardware for historic home restoration This is an antique to much older vintage heavy steel door lock. I am not an expert in antique hardware. But I will try to my best ability to describe this piece. It is embossed on the front with Chicago. It was found with the plate that is pictured. I am not certain that it goes with the lock. But I am assuming. If not, it is a bonus. This lock is extremely heavy. I am assuming it is steel. But again, I am not certain. I think it may be called a Mortise type lock. But again, I am not certain. Size of lock: approx. 4 7/8ths by 3 5/8ths and approx. 3/4ths inches thick. The additional metal lock plate that I am enclosing measures approx. 4 ½ inches long– the width in majority of the piece is approx. 1 1/8 th– the widest section is approx. 2 inches. Vintage Antique Cast Iron Corbin Mortise Door Lock With Glass Knobs hardware
These items came from a very old house and would be great for collecting or restorations. The front plate looks brass but a magnet does stick to it. The front plate measures 6 3/4” long by 7/8” wide. It is very clean inside and all the parts appear to be there. The box measures 3 1/4” wide by 5” tall. The distance from the middle of knob hole to the middle of the key hole is 2 3/8” The latch works and I think the bolt would work too but I DO NOT have a key that fits. The glass knobs measure 2 1/8” wide by 1 ½” tall and have no problems. I have cleaned these up as best I can as they were covered with paint and rust. So some paint and rust spots may remain. This Magnificent Rare Cast Bronze Pull Handle is a BIG one. Measures 22 1/2" long x 3 3/4" wide, has thumb latch and mortise cylinder lock, with key, same cylinder inside& out. Smaller pull inside pull plate measures 20 1/2" x 3 1/4" Mortise lock( brass end measures 8" x 1 1/4" body is 4" deep and 5 1/2" tall) has two thumb levers for inside plate and outside plates, can be for RH or LH doors. Although only marked on the back with the numbers 59480, it looks like it was made in the early 1900's By Sargent from the ornate castings, It came out of an Ohio Mansion. 264 It will be insured with sign receipt required.
