Antique Fastenerless Mortise Locks NO Key s* 4 Patent Dates from 1873 to 1885 Offered is a rarely found original Gory patented mortise locks. Quantity of 2. No Keys. This lock are unique in that they were patented to by using no screws or nails to attach to cabinets. Etc. There are 4 patent dates stamped on the back side as: April 22'73(1873) Aug 22'82(1882) July 17'83(1883) and Nov 24'85(1885) There is some minor metal staining found but mechanisms work well with the turning of the barrel key. Large lock measures 4" long by 2 3/8" wide and 1/2" deep. Tested with a key and it works well. Smaller lock measures 2 1/4" long by 2 1/16" wide by 1/2" deep. Not tested. This was the lock that was under patent infringement lawsuits in the 1890s by Duer vs Corbin. SARGENT Brass Face Mortise Lock antique vintage old hardware Russwin key lock
You are buying ONE(1) antique Sargent Brass Face Mortise Lock with a newer Russwin key and key lock cylinder. Spring action on the catch is very good. I could not see if the dead bolt moved. Key turns but the lock works do not move. note the minor surface rust on the lock interior. some of the japanned finish has flaked off due to the rust. I did not marry the Sargent and Russwin pieces. I rec'd the piece as shown in the pics. I subsequently unscrewed the bolt that held on one Russwin key lock cylinder and removed the lock cylinder so that I could fit the lock into a small flat rate box. The inside looks good.but you will have to judge that for yourself.

Antique/Vintage RHCO Mortise Lock with Brass and Porcelain knobs and reading lock. This lock set was on my door when I bought my house but when I replaced the door I had to go with a modern lock. I can not find the key to the reading lock. This set will look really good when cleaned. The plates could use a new coat of antique gold paint. The brass ring under the porcelain knob I do not believe was original but am selling it with the set. As you can see from my photos the brass does have some light scratches and light dents. It does need 1 set screw and a screw for the plate. The lock moves freely when turning the knob The porcelain does have cosmetic wear. The ornate oval brass knob is in mint condition. This closet door set was salvaged from a 19th century house in the Northeast. It features a copper stripe finish on a steel base. There is a doorknob with a thumb turn handle. Two rosettes, a small mortise lock and the original screws for mounting. They have some minor surface wear but given their age they are in great condition. I do have 3 more of these sets listed plus I have the matching offset hinges listed. This is a half-mortise desk and cabinet lock. The dimensions are: 2 1/4 x 1 5/8 x 5/8. The bolt is 1/2 inch long. The pin is 3/4 inch from the edge of the body. Russwin Mortise lock has a face plate of 1 ¼” wide x 8' tall. 3 7/8' deep. Comes with Three tested and functional keys and 4 brass screws. I tested the keys and the push buttons of the lock multiple times to insure fit and function. This is a 1909 working antique lock, not a newer made in China version. It has pat. Dates on it of Jan. 3. 1907. Aug. 31. 1909, and Oct. 26. 1909 The beautiful door knob goes on the inside and turns to open the door whether it is looked or unlocked. No key is needed for the inside. The brass ring goes on the outside of the door to pull it shut(the ring does pivot to hang down) The door unlocks with the key. Using the push buttons on the face you can have the door open only ... moreby turning the key or by turning the ring. One push button locks the turning of the ring and the other push button would unlock it. The key cylinder is adjustable to fit the thickness of the door. This is steel and solid brass and is a very heavy lock. The keys say Russwin. Made in the USA. I showed a picture of how the door knob goes thru the door. The shaft unscrews near the middle of it. The part that the ring goes on looks like it has to be cut to length once the thickness of the door is determined. Antique Sargent& Co. Mortise Lock w/ Folding Key- Easy Spring lock. This lock has Patented 1886 and has never been installed in a door it has all the parts It is a reversible surface mount lock. It comes with its original surface mount strike plate, original etrustian plate, 2 original folding keys both marked#2. This is a very rare find and would be great on a Victorian era restoration project. The keys being an overall length of 6 inches unfolded with a usable length of 4 inches could be used on an extremely thick door. such as that found on a castle. As a welder I also could see this being adapted to a very heavy ornamental steel gate or entrance way. It is marked on one side"SARGENT& Co EASY SPRING" and on the other side"PATENTED FEB 24 1885 JAN 26 1886"the strike plate is marked"3911" both keys are ... moremarked"SARGENT 2" This lock can be used on a right or left hand door the catch is easily reversed the dead bolt is large and very strong the lock is about 4 inches high and 6 inches wide and about 1 inch thick the strike plate is 4 inches by 1 in ch by 1 inch the key plate is about 1 1/4 X 2 inches. there is very light surface rust on the dead bolt but it would be very east to remove the lock works very smoothly. A new high quality lock today would cost double my starting price and no where are strong as this lock weighs almost 4 pounds. 3 Antique Norwalk Door Mortise Lock Set Lockset with Flat Brass Faceplates
Three antique Norwalk motise lock sets salvaged from an old Maine coast inn. Were in the doors to guest rooms. All are marked"Norwalk" in different styles. Two have longer brass front plates that measure 5.5" by 1 7/8" and lock bodies that measure 3.75X 3 1/8. The other one has a front plate that is 4.25X.75" and the lock body is 3X4" All have remnants of old white paint. One has a room number. 109, scratched into the side. All the triangular latch bolts work freely and all the dead bolt bars are painted in and not moving. These old lock sets appear to be made of cast iron with brass front pieces. There are no keys, screws or knobs.

These are large measuring 10 1/2 inches long x 2 3/4 inches across. Distance from center of door knob collar to center of skeleton key barrel is 3 1/4 inches. Finish is in fair condition with some scuffs and minor surface rust on the original plated surface. Ornate floral patterning on both ends. Lock moves very smoothly with a turn of the key. I had restored it several yrs ago. The lock mechanism was lubricated also. The door knobs are also made from iron but they are hollow.
