Antique Glass Door Knob and Penn Mortise Lock Set With Key Lot C
You are bidding on an Antique Glass Door Knob and Penn Mortise Lock Set. The glass door knobs are in very nice condition with gentle wear but do need cleaning. The face plates are brass color over tin and measure. 1 ½ inches wide where knob spindle sets in and 1 inch wide where key area is x 5 ¼ inches long. The lock body measures 3 ¾ inches long x 3 ¼ inches wide x 5/8 inches deep/thick. The face plate of the lock measures 5 3/8 inches long x 7/8 inches wide. The casing plate measures 3 ½ inches long x 7/8 inches wide at the narrowest and 1 3/8 at the widest. This come with a functional skeleton key that has been tested and works as should. This is a nice used working antique lock. This Lock set is out of an old barn estate. I describe items the best of my ability but I am not an expert by any means. Rare Victorian Yale Hardware Entry Door Mortise Cylinder Lock Latch in excellent condition circa approx.1890. This latch has a special material on the latch bolt. I believe the function of the band is to deaden the sound of the latch hitting the strikeplate. Bronze face with cast iron housing. Latch bolt is reversible. In excellent working condition. Face plate measures 1" x 8" Mortise box measures 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" and 11/16" thick. Distance between center of cylinder opening and center of spindle opening is 3 1/2" Latch hub is for a split spindle. This latch is for a keyed cylinder lock. Antique vintage hardware large double pocket door mortise lock key metal box set Very. Very old- these appear to be in good condition for probable age and use. The metal has some scratches, wear to finish, bits of rust. The ornate front plate needs cleaning. It appears to work- when the key is turned, the rectangular piece comes out and fits into the corresponding hole on the other side. Also has what appear to be buttons- but they do not move. More basic information is below and I have listed lots of pictures. The front plates on these-one curves in and one curves out and they fit securely into one another. The face plate metal is possibly bronze and has a very pretty. Very intricate design. I did not find a maker's mark. The front plates measure 1 1/8 by 7 1/2. The smaller one-measuring only the box part is 2 1/4 by 5 1/2 and 1/2" ... morethick. The larger piece is 3 3/8 by 5 1/2 and 1/2" thick. The key is just under 2" tall. The set weighs just under 2 1/2 pounds I purchased this piece 10 years ago from a man who said he had found it at an Estate sale in upstate New York back in the 70's. Antique Victorian Eastlake lock vintage thumb latch mortise door hardware 1870
I have a nice old ornate thumb latch mortise lock for your consideration. Ornate floral geometric patterning consistent with its 145 year old age. Nice large chunky brass slide bolt. Lock face measures 4 9/16 x 1 1/8 x 1/8 inch thick. Depth of mortise cut from face plate to end of box(including 1/8 thick face plate) is 2 5/8. deep. Height for cut is 2 13/16 x 11/16 inches. Mortise will be slightly larger than box. Upon inspection looks all intact although there is some minor wear to the internal mechanism for disengagement of latch slide. 1/16- 1/8 inch) Works although it is slightly short of full recess. It looks that it could be repeened carefully for 100% functionality. Will work as is though. Nice old hard to find lock for your authentic vintage renovation or repair. Beautiful set of cast-bronze door knobs. Working mortise lock and key, escutcheon and collar in the German Renaissance"Mantua" pattern manufactured by the Reading Hardware Co. In 1905, very good condition. Door knobs have an ornate four-fold leaf design and measure 2 1/4" in diameter by 2" deep; lockset measures 4 1/4" high by 3 3/8" deep by 9/16" wide-keyhole is 2 1/2" from case front to middle of keyhole; lockset faceplate measures 6 1/4" high by 1" wide; escutcheon measures 8 1/2" high by 2 1/4" wide by 1" deep; collar measures 2" in diameter. Antique Vtg. Victorian Eastlake Door Knob Backplate & Mortise Lock Brass/Bronze?
A nice Victorian Eastlake Door Knob Backplate with matching mortise lock. Constucted of heavy brass and iron/steel. Fashioned in a quality of workmanship that is not easily found today. All is clean with much detail. Lock plate is slightly bent most likely could be repaired with a little heat from a torch and some tweaking with a pair of large pliers. No key for the lock. Dimensions are for the backplate.5 5/16" long x 1 7/16" wide x 3/32" thick the hole for the door knob spindle to pass through is 13/32" Mortise lock.3 1/8" wide( that's from the outer edge of brass plate to outer edge of lock. The brass plate on lock is 5 1/2" long x 7/8" wide x 5/32" thick. The black lock mechanism itself is 3 9/16" long x 2 15/16" x 1/2" thick. I did in fact insert a old door knob spindle to test ... morethe latch and it works fine. Sorry I DO NOT have the key for the lock. Beautiful pair of cast bronze door knobs. Escutcheons and mortise lock- no key but one can be made. Manufactured by the Reading Hardware Co. in 1905 in the German Renaissance"Mantua"pattern.
