Neat old salvage piece. Solid brass or bronze door knocker/letters slot from the early 20th century. Surprisingly there is no makers mark however it is lettered and numbered on the back. S071" on one side and just to the right is"I9741" The letters door has been somewhat polished and the surrounding area has not. Just below the E you will notice a small divot which was done during the making. The spring on the door is broken but when held vertically the door stays closed. fairly heavy it weighs 1.1 lbs. Antique Vent Cover Fleur De Lis Heat A/C Duct Plaque Mail Slot Cover?
This is one of two vents that I have listed they are a pair and they are out of my Grand fathers estate. The vent itself is an antique the embellishments( fluer de lis) I'm not sure. The screen itself is very solid and seems to have been bonded with epoxy to the vent and the fluer de lis are also bonded to the screen as well. Could easily be brought back to original by popping out the screen There is what appears to be some gold leafing on parts of the vent. These were mounted to a pair of AC/ heat vents in his den and look really cool they measure 17 1/4 by 8 by 3/4. Good luck Posted with

Item description Antique Branford Lock Works cast bronze mail slot c.1880. This is one of the best"Oriental" pattern hardware items I've had to offer. Branford made a wide variety of hardware items with this highly successful pattern. The piece exhibits minimal wear. A nicely aged color and nearly all of the original background enameling. Typically these mail slots use a steel spring to keep the mail flap closed, but this one is brass and in like new condition. The piece is 7 1/8" long x 1 15/16" wide. The recessed portion is 5" x 1 5/8" Including the spring mount. Condition All of my pieces have been carefully cleaned with attention given to preserving original finishes where they remain intact. Many pieces fall victim to wire brushing and high speed polishing which only results in a rough pitted surface ... moreand erosion of the sharpness and detail of the pattern. Here we have a wonderful EARLY 20th century cast iron CUTLER Wall-Mounted LetterBox paired along with a beautiful bronze CUTLER mail chute slot. Both pieces are heavy. All original and in EXCELLENT Vintage condition. The LETTERBOX IS 27 LBS. and measures 24 inches HIGH X 16 inches WIDE X 1 to 2 inches DEEP( depending on whether the hinges are included in the measurement) The Bronze Mail Slot weighs 3 LBS + 10 Oz. Antique Cast Brass Door Mail Slot with Engravable Face Plate
The mounting bracket on this mail slot is 13 ¼ inches wide and 3 7/8 th inches tall. The mail slot is 11 ½ inches wide and 2 3/8 th inches tall. It has four 3/16 th holes that are not threaded for mounting. One of the pins for the hinge on the right side looks to have been replaced with a small nail. The flat surface in the middle of the door has never been engraved. So it ready for your name! It is made of cast brass and has a well-aged patina with paint on its edges. 12.5" Heavy Duty Mail Slot - Antique Brass
Up for auction is a 12.5" Heavy Duty Mail Slot- Antique Brass. This was an estate find. It was purchased in a large collection of old brass post office doors. I do not know age, it is marked 1219-1 on back(not sure if that dates it) Measures 12.5" wide x a little over 2.5" tall. Actual slot is 1" x 11" This is either brass or bronze I believe(magnet does not stick) Weighs almost 2lbs. Does have a little paint from previous owner on sides.
