Antique OAK? HALL TREE w/IRON HOOKS Mid Century Mission Wood Coat Hat Rack Antique/Vintage Oak? Wood Hall Tree/Coat Rack Handcrafted; stands approx. 72" tall. Features four iron double hooks-the kind that will hold a hat above and a coat below; these hooks were originally painted a gold-brass color but have aged to a distressed finish. The style is somewhat Mission/Arts& Crafts-very simple in design; it looks like oak wood. But I am no expert so I can't say for sure-please refer to photos to judge. Condition is pretty much as it appears in photos. It is old; as its handcrafted it is somewhat primitive and is unfinished on undersides that don't show. Which is typical with antiques; it shows normal vintage wear(some dings here and there and a few hairlines-one was behind a hook-see pics) but nothing too bad. The bowl sits on a matching base and can be remove from the base for easy storage. It includes 10 matching punch cups with the original bowl clips to hold them in place. I did find some small nicks. Chips on some of the rims on the cups but nothing major and it does not take away from the beauty of the set and they are still all usable. The punch bowl and the base appear to be in wonderful condition, I could not find any type of damage on them. The height of the bowl while sitting on the base is 11 3/4" tall. The one on the top has 2 pivoting steel hooks on the handle. Rather than the usual 3 hooks. The desired hook is moved down into position and the sheath pushed over it to hold it in place. It's all in nice condition and the sheath has more of the gilded decoration than has usually survived on these pieces. The tiny hooks are intact and are about the same size as American steel hook sizes 10& 11. It measures 4 1/4" long closed and 5 3/8" long with the hook extended. The vintage cast brackets came out of an old shed where horse harnesses were draped over the rounded cut-outs on the top portion as they would mount. Also. There was other tack hung on the old cast hangers. Absolutely no cracks, breaks, or repairs on the brackets. All solid cast iron. All have three flanged cast iron lips for the wall mount security. If you wold look closely, you can see that the extended arm that carries the load is arched like a bridge for added strength. They x 1/4" x 1/2" oval arched support that connects from the wall mount to the scalloped top supports. They are very well constructed. The 2 others with the spikes just have age wear. There are 11 loose button nails fronts. The white have age wear, scuffs and 1 has a mold flaw& bent. The 2 fancy ones are cracked. This is an antique pair of white metal(silver I think though no marks) hooks/ holders of some sort. If anyone knows what they are feel free to let me know. They are pretty ornate with exotic birds and flowers to the main part. To the top there is a small hoop with a cirlce on it and tot he base they have a curved arm as though they are used to hold something. Perhaps a curtain tie or similar? Whatever they hold would have to be pretty light as they are light and fragile. I have a Chinese silver belt that has buckle ends that match this so perhaps they are all meant to be together.
