Old Metal Heater Floor Grate Register Vent Grill Vintage Antique
Up for auction is this Old Metal Heater Register. Register measures approximately 15 1/2" x 13 3/4" on the outside frame or exterior and 13 3/4" x 12" on the inside frame. Register has a diamond etching type design. Register has service rust that can be cleaned and painted. Lever works well and opens and closes the vent with ease. A flat tip screw is positioned at each corner making the inside accessible for cleaning and painting if desired. I believe I have another matching grate that I will be listing soon. Antique Victorian Cast Iron Floor Grate Heat Register. 10"x14" This cast iron register is in very nice condition. It had been stripped. Primed, and spray painted antique gold. It was made in Cleveland by New. Idea. Floor Face, Patent Pending. There are also I.R.M. CO stamped on the under side. There are no cracks or missing parts that I am aware. There is a rough area on 1 of the honeycombs. There is a small area of rust on the under side. The spring is stretched but I do not see the purpose of it when the 2 sided latch opens and closes the 2 metal louvers. Please view these flaws in my photos. Life has a way of taking over such that when my goal was hit my inventory just sat in storage. Well. I have to admit not only did it sit but over the years I have added to it. Due to my fiancé in all likelihood having to move overseas due to work in 2015 and me tagging along I HAVE TO liquidate my inventory. And yes, I have that much that I need to start now. So, I will be listing an item auction style and if within a certain time frame it is not sold it is going to a consignment auction house. So, if you like it, get it while the getting is good. My prices will be rock bottom due to the amount of items which need to be sold. I really am trying to liquidate my inventory but I have to admit my true passion is architectural salvage ... morework. This floor vent was was was salvaged from a 19th century farmhouse in upstate New York. It has an adjustable vent which works by the lever at the side. It is a bit rusty but is still fully functioning. This piece does have surface rust and needs to be primed and repainted. It is 14" by 12" The shipping and handling can be calculated. Antique Victorian CAST IRON FLAT Floor/Ceiling Heat Register GRATE Vent-16x11
This came out of an 1870s. 2 story house& it was being used with another grate with louvers in the room above. That other louver grate is being sold separately. The patterns of the 2 don't match exactly but from 1 room to another, it isn't noticeable. This offering is for the flat one. Which was mounted over an opening on the ceiling in a downstairs room while the louvered one, was in an opening on the floor in the bedroom directly above& they were lined up to make a unit. Before central heating became the standard. These were in all old homes, usually located next to a chimney flue to let the heat from a free standing stove rise to the upstairs. The outside dimensions are 16 inches long x 11 inches wide. On the back. There is a little ridge where it would sit into an opening, shown in 2nd to last photo. That ridge is slightly ... moreless than an inch from the edge on all 4 sides, forming an inner dimension of 14 x 9 inches. It weighs 5.5 pounds before packing. Large 29"x23"Antique Cast Iron Floor Grate Register Victorian Steam Punk Ornate
This is a large original cast iron floor grate. I would say from the Victorian era. This ornate grate weighs approximately 35#s. There are no cracks or breaks to the grate. And it seems to have the majority of it's original black paint. There is minimal surface rust showing throughout the piece. The outside measurements of the grate are 28-3/4" long, 22-3/4" wide and a whopping 5/8" thick! The inside lip measures 26-1/4" long, 20-1/4" wide. Definitely a statement piece for your home, or would make a beautiful, one of a kind table top. I will ship this free anywhere in the Lower 48 United States.

Has dirt and debris stuck to the surface and in some of the holes. Needs to be sandblasted and refinished. This air register is adorned with a pleasing geometric design and also mounting holes on each corner of the grate for easy installation. antique floor model National cash register oak restored early 1900s
This is an early 1900s National floor model cash register in oak. It has been completely refinished and completely gone through mechanically and works very well. This was bought from the original owner of a hardware store in Boone. Iowa several years ago. We are the second owners. I polished it way back then but it has darkened down very nicely. The cash drawer label has a last patent date of 1908. The numbers on it are: 545850. And 99L-6F. The feet were DEALER TRIMMED(just a little) and then DEALER FITTED WITH BRASS SKIDS to lower the height of the machine at the original buyer's request. Too tall for many clerks. No chips, cracks or breaks. The top side measures 23 3/4" x 16 1/4" the underside to fit in it's spot is 21 1/4" x 14" It has etched in the underside in scrolled numbering 14 x 22. Antique NATIONAL CASH REGISTER Floor Model with 6 Drawers ELECTRIC & MANUAL NR!!
First some history on this great antique cash register! My grandfather opened a small department store in Fredericktown. PA, a small mining town in Southwestern PA, about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh! This cash register is from that store and it was purchased in the mid-1920's! I sold it to a friend when the store closed after 73 years in business, at the end of 1985, and it functioned to the very end! National Cash register had an office in Ohio, and this machine was maintained and serviced, I believe the last time was in 1984! My friend is downsizing and now wants to sell it! As the photos show it has been in storage for a number of years! But it is still in EXCELLENT working condition! I do not know how old this is so I’ll let you be the judge. The outside face is 9 3/16” in diameter and the inside lip diameter is approximately 7 15/16” and 3/16” deep. The overall thickness is approximately 3/8” It doesn’t appear to be marked. It does have two 3/16”countersunk mounting holes. There is surface rust throughout but appears to have no cracks or chips. It weighs approximately 2 pounds. Overall it is in excellent solid condition. I’ll leave the cleaning and restoration to the professionals. If you like the rust look then you will love this. Cast Iron floor grate from 1880s farmhouse. Date of manufacture not known. This piece is very flat. Having been examined on cement floor with only about 1/16" clearance side to side. No known cracks in grate. Normal rust throughout. Can be made into wonderful table or other artsy project. Measures approximately 28" diameter and just over 1" thick. It is made of solid cast iron and comes to you with the original cast iron surround. Please be sure to see the other antique items we have listed. FEATURES: This lovely floor heat vent grille features a swirling vine and leaf design in the center. Surrounding this design is a triple-cross design with the center cross being upside down. The surround has two borders. In-between the borders is a delicate checkerboard pattern. This is a three-piece unit where the louvered part of the grate can be removed from the face-plate. There are four slotted screws that hold the two pieces together. However, only 2 of the screws are included. By removing the face plate from the louvers, it allows for easier ... morecleaning as well as sand blasting, if you want. In it's day, this was a gorgeous accent to any floor. The louvers work fine, however the entire unit does have quite a bit of surface rust. INCLUDED: The actual floor grate and surround pictured NOT-INCLUDED: No box. Packaging or paperwork. Two of the slotted mounting screws that hold the grate face-plate to the louvers is not included. However, it does come with two original screws. BRAND: Unbranded SIZE: The louvered register measures about 9-5/8" x 11-5/8" x 2" deep(with louvers closed) When the louvers are open. They add about 1" to the depth, making it about 3" deep. The surround/frame is about 13-3/8" x 15-5/16" x 3/8" thick. The opening in the floor needs to be at least 12-1/8" x 10-1/8" for the surround frame to lay flat on the floor. This is for the floor grate that you see here. Heavy steel or metal floor grate. Not sure if cast iron or not. I don't believe it to be. But the top part could be. Painted but the paint is peeling/chipping off. Surface rust. Solid. I'm guessing it to be well over 100 years old, but that is a guess. I am not sure. The knob that opens and closes it is stuck, will need to be freed up. Drops into a 12" x 7" opening. The top grate is 13.75" x 8.75" Nice look and a restoration project.
