Antique Floor Grate Register Cast Iron Complete with Original Louvers This piece is marked"Patented Jan. 23. 1848" Made"Apr. 27, 1848" This was found here in Maine. It is all original. Complete and very heavy. There is a minor crack in the frame on one side that could easily be repaired or used'as is' There is original paint missing and a small amount of rust that does not interfere with the function. It is clean and the louvers move freely with the thumb adjuster on the side. The grate measures 13 5/8" x 9 3/4" The louver insert measures 8 1/4" x 12 1/4" These 2 pieces together weigh nearly 10 pounds. Small Antique Cast Iron Heat Register Floor Grate Vent Working 4"x8" Signed Nice
Here is a very nice antique floor heat register with original parts and paint. I don't know how old it is. We bought it about 18 years ago at an antique store and it's been stored in a closet ever since. It's in great working order and can be used for the original purpose. It could also be used for display since the underside has great advertising marks on it. The pics show it's condition very well. There are a few small areas of missing paint on the top. On the screws, and the flip switch. There is also some surface discoloration-slight surface rust, mostly on the inner flip panel area. It's marked on the underside with: S.M. F. Co. S. MILWAUKEE WIS. on each bottom panel. It's also marked 4 x 8 in four places. It measures 4" x 8" on the bottom(the part that fits into the floor or wall) The top measures about ... more5 1/4" x 9 1/4" It's pretty clean, as I removed the dust and grime with a lightly oiled cloth. Antique Floor Grate or Cold Air Return Register Cast Iron 14" X 17"
Old cast iron cold air return or floor grate. Measures 14x17. It has been painted white on the front side that is coming off in spots. Back side has surface rust. This grate was in the basement of the house we bought. We bought the house from the estate of a gentleman whom was over 100 years old when he passed. So I don't know the exact age of the grate. I am offering up for auction a VTG OLD Antique Chinese Dragon floor grate Cast iron Heat Grid register. This came from a estate sale here in Pa. This has a Chinese dragon type motif at least it looks like it to me to be dragons with the teeth coming down. The edge has lines and corners are a waffled look. This measures approximately 9 1/2 by 11 3/4 inches. And 1 3/4 inches tall. There is a 7/8 of a inch lip on the underside from the edge to the part that sits into the floor. The part that sits into the floor is tapered and is approximately 7 1/2 by 9 3/4 inches and 1 3/4 inches tall. This is dirty needs cleaned is missing the inside fins and mechanical pieces. It has rusting and pithing(pitting and scaling) it was stored in a basement at ... morea estate sale of a old house. This has old paint on it. I have only the one. It is in well used condition. For your consideration is this rectangular cast iron heating grate. Age unknown, measuring approx. 9 3/4" x 11 5/8" and 2" deep overall. It is marked M M& F CO MILWAUKEE, WI 8 X10. It's rusty with chippy blue over white paint with 3 complete louvered vanes on the back. The vanes work fine- open& close with the lever. The screws attaching the cover are loosened and hard to turn.
