Penn Antique Restoration. Antique French Style Entry Door Set Knobs Plate Lock Key. Wonderful. Antique, entry door lockset made by"Russell& Erwin Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT around the turn of the previous century. The set consists of 2 cast brass knobs, 2 stamped brass escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 2 working keys, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws to connect the knobs. All brass/bronze parts are solid brass/bronze, not brass plated steel. The knobs and escutcheons have a stunning French style design featuring fleur de lis. Prim roses, leaves, cartouches, and various geometric shapes. All parts were found dirty and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then. We've clea ned and polished all parts to a uniform finish. There is a break in the upper right corner of ... morethe cover plate of the lock body. The break does not hinder the set's functionality and once the lock is installed in your door. It will be concealed. There are also some shallow dents and light scratches on the lock's faceplate. The rest of the parts are in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or deep scratches. The lock was opened. Inspected, and we sprayed machine oil on and around all parts to facilitate their movement.
