This white vitreous china or ceramic hot water lavatory/ sink/ bathtub faucet handle set consists of the ceramic cross handle. The ceramic bell-shaped escutcheon, and the stem. Unfortunately. We only have the hot water faucet handle. It is marked“Republic” on the metal collar around the base of the cross handle and“Republic Cleveland O. M B C 1097” on the inside of the escutcheon. The cross handle measures about 3 ½” across. The escutcheon measures about 3 ¼” across at the base and about 1 ¾” high. It is in good vintage condition overall. The small metal ring just above the escutcheon has some tool marks and some hard water deposits. There’s a faint rust colored stain on the lower edge of the escutcheon and on the end of one of the cross handle extensions. These stains can be seen in the last two photos. This is an original P.F. Corbin door plate in the"Ceylon" pattern with similar or matching door knob Condition is excellent. No rust. No cracks or chips. Design is sharp and crisp. Perfect mounting holes. The bronze plating is in excellent shape without much wear. This is a thick heavy plate. Not a thin stamped one. It is ready to install and enjoy. This plate measures 5 1/2" tall by 1 5/8" wide. It is 2 1/4" from the center of the round part of the keyhole to the center of the doorknob well. The key hole is 11/16" tall. large antique art nouveau escutcheon woman fish shells back plate brass finding
This is a fantastic ornate back plate with so many possibilities! Measuring about five inches across this escutcheon of sorts features a woman with an elaborately decorated feathered hat. Surrounded by shells and serpents or fish of some sort. The back of this plate is just as spectacular, revealing great details of shells etc. I am not certain of the metal of this piece as it has a bronze or copper color on the front, but more of a brass look to the back. The curl of the fish or serpents' tails make four aligned holes, presumable for installation. I do not know the original purpose or presentation of this piece. On the back as shown in the last photo are also four prongs, which are sharp and bent down for safety, which probably added in the adhering of this to furniture of some sort once upon a time.
