Antique Corbin Brass/copper door lock set/plates/knobs/lock/no key July 17,1900
This is a old door lock set that we removed from our antique door. It looks like brass or copper not sure which one or both. It surely needs to be restored as needs some cleaning. The date on the back of the plates say July 17.1900. The plates are two different sizes one is 7" and the other 10" It says Corbin on the lock. It looks like a matched set because of the dates on each of the plates and the color. It looks like black with the copper and brass. On the lock at the top it has a S34. That's about all I know. 8 Vintage Antique perspex knobs or door handles
The diameter of the handle is 40mm. At the longest ovoid shape. There are a few spots of paint on some of them from where the decorator obviously didn't cover them when repainting the room they were in. I bought a large amount from a London Antique dealer, but I still have 32 left, so am selling them in lots of 8, so if you want more or less please let me know. I would estimate they are 1950's. ANTIQUE / VINTAGE c.1912 7 SETS PASSAGE DOOR KNOBS, SHAFTS and BACKPLATES
Here we have a very nice lot of seven complete sets of antique c.1912. Door knobs, shaft and back plates including one with a privacy thumb turn mechanism. I believe these are called"Copper and Smoke" design. They are steel with copper plating. The back plates are rectangle, approx. 2" by 6 1/2" with the copper and smoke finish through out. One of the back plates is slightly smaller and one does not have the copper finish, I think these were in closets. One of the plates has the privacy thumb turn mechanism installed in the key hole, this came out of the bathroom. The inner portion of the knobs is cast steel while the outer part is pressed. The knobs are approx. 2 1/4" in diameter and 1 1/8" deep. The face of the knobs match the design on the back plates. The shaft is approx. 4" long and 7/32" square ... morewith threaded adjustment holes on each end. All parts are original, including the set screws. It is an attractive set. Now. You may be thinking, how does he know these are c.1912? If you notice the last pic of the group. This is our house and it is documented to have been built in 1912. This hardware has come from our house. Due to the restorations we are doing to upgrade the home, unfortunately we are not able to re-use some of the original hardware. We are hoping that it will find its way to another heritage home and again be useful for another 100 years. As for condition. This set has been used on a daily basis for many years and are just as they have come off the doors. They have come from the upper floor bedrooms and bathroom of our house. The set has no dents, bends, or repairs. They are unpainted, clean and smooth with no surface rust tarnish or corrosion. The copper and smoke finish is in very good condition, however some do show a little more ware than others, especially on some of the knobs but this is to be expected on a set that has been used daily. Large Lot of 8 Antique Glass Doorknobs Door Knobs NR A nice antique lot. Two have brass collars and the rest steel. One has a bit of paint and the rest just need cleaning. I couldn't unscrew the three knobs from the shaft. So I didn't try to force them. All I could find was 2 pretty small nicks on the glass- One on one knob and one on another. Glass centers are fine but for one. A couple dark spots that I could see when inspecting. They all look like the same pattern but for the collars. All are 2 inches across. ANTIQUE Vintage Brass Door knobs New York City Public Schools
For sale are two NYC public schools door knobs. With original brass stem and brass screws. They are ornate brass door knobs made during the turn of the century. They measure approx. 2 5/8" by 1 3/4" The door knobs connected with the stem measure approximately 61/2" in length. They are in good antique condition with the original patina. They could be polished but display nicely as they are. There are minor imperfections on them such as a few scratches and discoloration. Please ask questions.do not hesitate to ask. The diameter of the handle is 38mm. I would estimate they are Victorian. They are in good condition except one of the handles has a small chip on one of the cut glass corners, but when in position, this will not show.
