The hinges were coated with a black enamel paint, however, much of the paint wore off over the years leaving them with a nice, distressed finish. Antique leaded window / door brass ring & hinges oak wood frame 17 x 17 1800's?
Window/door was given to us 30 years ago by a relative that had razed a house in Kentucky(we believe) We packed it away thinking we were going to use it in our log home but that never happened. The frame is oak(we think) It is put together with finger joints or notches. The see through window looks like glass but we do not know that for sure and are attached with what we believe is lead. The window has 2 hinges on one end and a brass ring for pulling open. We believe the house was built in the late 1800's and was torn down before 1980 and know for sure that this was from that property. But do not know if it was built with the house. It looks very old and in good condition for it's age. If we remember correctly, it was in the dormer of the house. It is dirty and could be stained. The hinge on the rights pin is half way out and needs to be pounded back in. I put some water on the right hinge to bring out the details. The hinges would have been door hinges for a very old cabinet. They measure 2 1/2in tall x 3 1/2in wide, opened flat. These aren't trunk hinges, and would have gone on a door. Antique Swinging Door or Cafe Hinges, copper metal door handles locks
You are bidding on a lot of antique metal and copper swinging door hinges. Door hinges, metal door knobs, latches and locking mechanisms. My favorite of the lot is the 2 copper hinges that measure 4.5" high x 3.25" wide. Also included are 2 swinging door hinges that do work but need to be cleaned up a bit. They meausure 3.75" high and 3" wide and they do work! There are 4 metal door knobs(2 measure 2.25" in diameter and 2 measure 2" in diameter. The larger door lock mechanism of the 2 is marked RHCo and the other is not marked except for a 2 printed in 1 corner. Again the corrosion is only on the surface and the 2 sets of hinges can easily be cleaned up. There are also 2 latches and 1 bar that the knobs screw on to. These solid bass pins remove rather easily but you still should follow a few precautions. You also should not use a hammer to strike the pin top directly but rather use a piece of wood positioned on the top of the pin before hitting it. This is for a lot of 7 barn door hinges and a barn door latch. Very rustic and very vintage. Came right off the barn, The hinges I have pictures of is 7, but 2 of them are not moving, the other 5 are just fine. I'm sure just need to have some paint and rust removed out of the hinge part, otherwise in great condition. Great architectural salvage pieces. My good friend has done it again! He saves pieces from homes slated for demolition and brings them to me.these are special. Straight off of a door from a home in Ol' New Orleans.early 19th c. Very possibly earlier, hand forged, large and heavy, iron door hinges. Rustic and coated with chippy, original and early paint. Original white underneath, a coat of hunter green, with a top coat of a different green.with the later coat being decades old. As a testament to age, these pieces are perfectly imperfect, very prim. The attachment plates are a bit different in size(one has a tiny 1/4" age related crack in it) The iron posts are pegged and soldered into the main plates. Pair Antique Hand Forged Iron Strap Hinges for Barn Door w/ Hardware c. 1880's
Pair of Antique Hand Forged Iron Strap Hinges For a Barn Door or Old Door with Primitive Hardware. Offering a pair of beautiful hand forged antique iron strap door hinges with hardware. Circa 1880’s. It appears the straps were forged as a pair because the viewable design(as it would display on a door) has the same pattern. I.e. both having two holes that are set roughly the same distance apart. Plus. The white spots are on both and the heart finials are shaped basically the same with one ticking off to the top and one to the bottom. The top hinge is 15” long and is rolled back and flatten. It has a 5/8” hole. The 15 ¾” bottom strap’s roll back is shorter and more finely forged into the main body of the strap. Perhaps because the craftsman did not have the length of material needed to make the same shaped roll back as the shorter strap. ... moreIt has a ½” hole. As for the hardware. The straight 5” drivable piece fits well under the 15” top strap. In other words. It lines up perfectly so a pin can be inserted though both pieces. All that is missing. To make the whole set complete, is the pin. The hinge pin for the bottom is 5 ½” long by 2 ½” at the widest part. The size is such that it will fit both straps if someone wanted to switch the smaller strap to the bottom for some reason. They have a beautiful aged and untouched patina with good form and design. Both have breathtaking. Well formed hearts/spears ends. They are in excellent“as found” condition. I think the white on the straps is from aged. Dried out bird poop but I’m not positive. I’ll leave the clean up to the buyer as it’s my policy to sell antiques in their original or as found condition. lot antique offset ball finial door hinges Vintage Craftsman bugalow hardware
I have a nice lot of old 1/2 inch offset ball finial hinges for your consideration. These are heavy stamped steel probably because of the heavy solid wood doors they use to use in the 20's and 30's in old bungalows. These have a flush mount for jamb side and a mortise cut application for the door mount side. See pics carefully. These are 3 1/2 inches. Nice large ball tips on the pins and on the opposite end of hinge that unscrew from plate with threading and a standard slot cut. Pins remove and pivot nicely and have a small friction seat bearing on each. Will need a good cleaning of old paint for your new finish. Original brass plate is pretty much shot. This type of hinge can be used on either side of the door and are not handed. The hinges measures 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" restored and in excellent condition. Clean and fancy casting. The pattern is also on the back of the hinge and shows when the door is closed. The hinges have their original finish and have some tarnished some to a darker bronze color.
