4 antique inlaid hardware drawer pull cabinet door knob furniture part salvage
Up for auction is this unique antique set of 4 inlaid knobs/pulls. They are beautiful. But very hard to get a good picture of. They have a heavy coat of clear finish, most likely a shellac. The main wood is either walnut or mahogany. The inlaid design is of a star like nautical themed. I suspect that they may have been top coated at one point because the edges on some are slightly wore off and no raw wood is showing. The pulls are large at approx. 2 1/4" dia by 1" high. They have raised panels with what looks to be the original shellac/varnish on them, the finish is crackled as that finish tends to do as it ages. They are made to close in sequence and overlap in the center. The original solid brass hardware is included: knobs hinges and catch(there is only one catch) There are some nicks. This is a charming child's doll dresser or cabinet. It stands 17 1/2" tall and is 10" wide at the widest point. The top has a glass door with a fancy pressed metal clasp. There is one shelf on the inside. The bottom section has two drawers with fancy pressed metal pulls. I believe this to be from the 30's. It has hand painted flowers on the drawers. It has normal signs of wear but is structurally sound.
