Antique Glass Bottle-Seam Ends at Lip- Maybe Late 1800's
I don't know much about glass. But I have been told, that if the seem in the glass ends at the lip of the bottle and does not go through the lip, it could have been made before 1900. The seem on this bottle ends at the lip and the lip looks like it was put on by it's self, so I believe it was made before 1900. If I'm wrong someone is welcome to tell me different. This listing is for a highly embossed Bourbon DeLuxe rare whiskey bottle marked on the bottom R.D. 9135 April 1931. The Bourbon DeLuxe Whiskey was distilled and bottled in bond by United Distillers. Ltd. Vancouver, Canada. The bottle is beautifully embossed with barley stalks and is in very good clean and clear condition, I see no haze, and no chips or cracks. The aluminum cap shows dings and patina but is readable, For Connoisseurs" cap made in the U.S.A. The shot glass cap is missing. The bottle measures 8-1/2" high.

The bottle is a light green glass. Demijohns were used to age. Transport, or store alcohol and other liquids. The Demijohn is made of green colored blown glass and encased in basket-weave, hand-woven wicker The Demijohn is in Very Good Condition with the wicker casing aged to a lovely patina. A few small breaks on the wicker- see photos) but handle is secure as well as bottom which many times separates from the body. Demijohn measures 14-1/2 inches high x 6 1/4 inches wide not including the handle. This is a superb and original coloured glass bottle with the silver top of which: During our research we have been informed it cer tainly dates from the georgian period of the 19th century. London hallmark to the stopper with a date of c1831. Wonderful overall shape with the handle. In a burgundy. Pontil underneath. Solid silver top with cork insert. Has an overall height of about 8inches. Overall dia of about 5in ches. Base dia of about 2.5inches. Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition is: excellent and is without any blemish. Would have had a silver rim to the top of the bottle at one time. All as per pictures. Besides being a very collectable and original burgundy coloured bottle with the solid silver rim and stopper from the 19th century.
