The other 3 were used for paperweights. This type would have pictures of World Fairs or Victorian Die Cuts. The largest one measures 4 1/2" long X 3" wide X 3/4" thick and all 4 sides have a nice design. The next size measures 4" long X 2 1/2" wide X 1" thick. This one has some scratching on the top. The smallest one is a 3" X 3" square X 1"thick. All are in very good condition no chips. Cracks or repairs there is some minor wear from age and use. Maddux, Born Dec. 2nd 1805, Died Oct 13th 1854" and"Aseneath Maddux, Born Apr. 12th 1810, Died Mar 2nd 1901" I found internet pictures of their markers in the Mckinley/Oak Chapel Cemetery in Grant county, Indiana(see photos) Each paperweight is about 3 1/4" tall. 3 1/2" across and weigh a bit more than 2+ lbs each. Overall condition of each is very nice with no noticeable chips or scratches. The Thomas weight does have what looks like an internal fracture visible only thru the base. The Aseneath weight has one slight"bruise" sparkler on the top(above"Died" in the photo) Glass is clear with a base ... morecolor of cranberry in the shape of a flower with a confetti backed white pillow above on which the inscriptions are written. There is a looping confetti rope around the sides. Bases are ground. Pair of antique 1893 Chicago World's Fair glass paperweights. One with the word's' World's Fair 1893' etched on the front while on the bottom in relief an image of one of Columbus's ships and the dates' 1492- 1892' there are a few minor chips to the bottom edge and virtually no wear. The second paperweight with a relief portrait of Columbus in profile with the words' World's Columbian Exposition 1492- 1892' along the edge of the paperweight. The lot comprising: 1 large colorless glass finial with red and white pulled feather design along the interior, the glass mounted to a shaped cylindrical metal base decorated with an Art Nouveau/Aesthetic style gold over gesso pattern of overlapping flowers and vines, the underside lined with felt; together with 2 similar colorless glass finials, the interiors blown with colorful undulating flower forms with captive bubbles, with tapering bases(one polished) both unmarked. Dimensions: Finial A(on Stand) 6.5" high x 4" diameter. Finial B: 4" high x 3.75" diameter. Finial C: 4.1" high x ... more3.75" diameter. Total Weight: 10 lbs. 10oz. Condition: Finial A: There are considerable number of scratches/abrasions to the surface of the glass. With a couple of bruises(dents) along the top measuring 0.1" and 0.375" across. Antique Miniature Pocket Watch Shaped Glass Stag Paperweights Salesman Sample?
Hello here is a unique find! These are two Glass paperweights that look like pocket watches. They do not open and each measure approximately 2 inches in diameter and a half of an inch thick. I see absolutely no manufacturers marks on them. The clear one does have gold accents. But the gold is starting to are off as seen in the photographs. The second dark one is very deep purple in color, and has a stag on the front. Both of the pieces are in good condition for their age and show minimal signs of wear. Again. Antique Souvenir Glass Paperweights Portland Maine? & Bell Bouy Off Hypocriti's?
I don't know anything about these. They where given to me when my friend closed her antique store. The 4" x 2 1/2" rectangle paperweight. Has a note secured to the back of it, that reads where Gertie& I served food to tables. Cushing Is, Portland Maine? Picture is not very clear. Looks like a large 3 or 4 story building. Round paperweight is 2 1/2" in diameter. Bell Bouy off Hypocriti's. Faded picture of a Bell Bouy with a lady on it. Looks like it may have some water damage. Sold as is. PayPal only. This copy is in Excellent condition and is a hardbound book. The book measures 8 by 11 inches. There are 169 lots in the sale all of which are illustrated in full color.
