Antique 19 C. Georgian Armorial Crest Cut Glass Port Wine Taper Decanter & Label
This listing is for a Nineteenth Century antique tapered club form port wine decanter with fine diamond and flute cutting. It has a faceted flattened lozenge form stopper. And intricately engraved Royal Crown armorial crest over an"N" monogram. The engraving is beautiful with tiny evenly spaced cross hatches. It retains its hand made silver bottle ticket and belcher chain- which is unmarked. I'm unsure as to whether it is sterling, but it still has the scribe marks used to lay out the punch work. The decanter is unsigned, but markings are visible on the side of the polished stopper plug. it appears to read" 328 AGn T Paw" I am uncertyain about the"G" and"w" The glass is quite clear, and of good quality. The base of the decanter is cut in the same fine diamonds as found on the body of the piece. ... moreThe decanter measures 11.4" to the top of the stopper, and 9.1" to the top of the rim. Made of fine quality crystal glass, of Neo-Classical ovoid form, with a tall slender neck, terminating with a tri-foil lip, with its original faceted ovoid stopper, on a circular support. The body is etched with two concentric bands of Greek-key and foliage. The neck is cut with a tapering facets, and the underside is cut with a radiating star. This decanter measures 258 mm in height and 83 mm in width. It weighs 333 grams. It has been well taken care of but is now part of an estate settlement to be sold. The rare and unusual nature of the decanter with a porcelain base and pewter top makes it unique. This is a stunning 6 piece decanter set. The whole set is made of amber glass that has been hand blown and then cut with a hummingbird and fl oral pattern of roses. The b ottom of the large piece has been polished where the pontil mark was a nd the stopper was as well. The decanter has an applied amber glass handle. This set comes with FIVE matching wine glasses cut with the same pattern. The height of the decanter measures 15.5 inches tall and the height of the wine stems measures 5.75 inches tall. This entire grouping is in wonderful condition and does not have any chips or cracks- I don't think it really looks to have been used much if at all. A wonderful estate find. Antique Glass Pitcher Wine Decanter Deep Blue-Green Open Pontil - Pre-1900
For your consideration, A Very Rare Deep Blue-Green Antique Pitcher/ Wine Decanter. This pitcher has been hand-blown in a swirl twist pattern. There are many air bubbles and impurities trapped all throughout the glass. There are also glass swirls in a darker color. The pitcher features an open pontil white in color. This is a large pitcher; it measures 11.5” in height and about 7” in diameter. I am not sure about exact age. But it’s most likely pre-1900. Please do your own research before bidding. BONUS PIECE! A nice small green glass tumbler made in the same style and era. But in a different glass color. Note that there is a very small crack on the rim as can be seen on the last picture. This mouth blown and hand etched antique wine decanter with goblets is a true work of art! The goblets. Decanter and stopper are all mouth blown; the decanter and 3 goblets have pontils, and the stopper, as well as the lip of the decanter are hand ground. Where do you find workmanship like this anymore? The goblets and decanter are also hand etched in a beautiful symmetrical floral pattern. I strongly suspect this once had 4 goblets, and that it's Bohemian, but I'm not positive. Whatever it is, it's gorgeous! Unsure of maker; probably Bohemian. And from the turn of the 20th century. THIS DECANTER HAS A FEW ISSUES, IT NEEDS SOME CLEANING AND THE SCROLL WORK AROUND THE NECK IS SEPERATED FROM THE MAIN PART OF THE DECANTER THIS PROBABLY CAN BE FIXED BUT I'M NOT A PEWTER EXPERT. IT HARD TO TELL IF ANY OF THE DESIGN IS MISSING, IT IS SO DETAILED! THE STOPPER CAME WITH IT, I'M NOT SURE IT IS THE CORRECT STOPPER.
