ANTIQUE BRISTOL VASE OPAQUE GLASS HAND PAINTED UNUSUAL RARE LATE 1800'S ENGLAND
This wonderful vintage collectable was recently rescued from an Estate Sale. DESCRIPTION#517: Looking for a new forever home is this rescued lovely VICTORIAN BRISTOL GLASS VASE. The vase is hand painted with a floral motif and dotted and gold lines for elegant detail. The vase has a opaque very light pale greenish/yellowish cast to it. The hand painted designs are shades of pink. Some browns and yellow, a hint of periwinkle blue. Large leaves on front are a rusty reddish brown. Gold lines on bottom pedestal base with cobalt blue dots at the end of each line. Some gold and cobalt blue designs along the side of the vase also but some of this has rubbed off due to age. On each side there are remnants of this gold and cobalt detail. Back of vase has a smaller floral motif in periwinkle blue and rusty red brown. Very, very unusual opening in this ... morevase. It is funnel shapped, larger at mouth and narrowing down the neck of the vase, it then extends into an oval shape, and again narrows again before final flare at the round pedestal base. Very slight 1/8" jagged edge on rim of vase opening, one surface hair line scratch that does not go thru to the outer rim. It does extend a little to the inner rim. One little pepper dot in the glaze on the rim of the opening. Other than the surface gold gilt paint loss, it is in good shape, no other cracks or chips. This vase has a"glow in the dark" look to the glass, very slightly greenish/yellow. The owner's son did say it was from the late 1900's and his parents cherished it, they always referred to it as the Bristol glass vase. Bristol glass is from the victorian era and was made in England during the late 1800's. This is a beautiful example of Bristol Glass and anyone would be proud to add it to their collection. Floral vase generously decorated with gold. Vase is chocolate opaque glass that has a satin finish on the exterior and glossy interior surface. Not cased. As you can see in the photos, in bright light you can see the outline of my fingers on the outside. It is blown, I believe, the base shaped with a form while the glass was still malleable. The pontil would have been cut off at the top. The top edge is cut, about three eighths of an inch wide, and polished smooth. Height is eight and three quarter inches, circumference around shoulder is nineteen and one quarter inches and base diameter ... moreis just over three and one half inches. The indention in the center of the base has a diameter of about two and five eighths inches, leaving a"foot" about one half inches wide. The colors are burgundy, white, green and gold. There is alot of hand painted detailing, plus the gilding. The artist was very accomplished with blending colors, appropriate size of design, there is even a leaf in shadow. At the top outer edge of the vase there is a wide brown band outlined with gold lines. The gold does show wear here but not on other gold decoration. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, obvious scratches and no residue on the interior. There is no marks or artist signature and I do not know where or when it was made. I do know that it is a quality piece painted and decorated by a skilled artist. The colors are beautiful with lovely blending. Please email any questions before bidding. Powder Blue Bristol Glass vase with STUNNING Coralene flowers
In this auction. You will be bidding upon a wonderful piece of late 19th Century Bristol glass. This is a medium sized vase, in a delicate robin's egg or powder blue colored, opaque glass. The front side is decorated with a painted enamel and coralene floral decoration. Each of those specks on the multicolored areas is actually a tiny glass bead. Can you imagine the time and patience required to have placed those specks so that the correct color pattern was formed! Usually these vases are found with all of the Coralene decoration worn off through the ages. The vase measures 8 1/8" tall and 2 1/8" wide across the top rim. The piece is unmarked with any maker's name, but does have its original price tage of 3- This wonderful vase is in mint/near spotless condition. There may be a tiny area of pink beading missing on one lily ... morepetal. There is also an elongated surface bubble/dimple on the rear neck. beccat1974 store This is a very old. Glass vase. The former owner said it is Bristol glass. It is hand decorated with Daisies and Bluebell flowers. There is an insect painted near the Daisies that appears to be a Bumble Bee. The gold gilt is faded in spots, but the enamel painting is still in very good condition. There are variations in glass, ash flecks, enamel smudges etc.there is what appears to be a larger ash inclusion that creates a small bump on the side of vase. 2 Antique BRISTOL GREEN Glass enamelled PITCHERS Vase
This auction is for a Matched pair of Antique BRISTOL GREEN enamelled floral pitchers or vases measuring approximately 8 1/4 inches in height. The pitchers display beautifully; however. One of the pitchers has 2 very small chips located under the fluted rim which are hard to see but we have shown in the pictures provided; the other pitcher has a small chip and crack located at the point where the top of the handle of the pitcher meets the body of the pitcher- I believe these types of cracks at the top of the handles on old glassware were fairly common and happened at the time of making. The pitchers are designed with 12 slight panels and they have sharp pontiles on the bottom. The enamelling is in very good condition; however. There is heavy wear to the original gilt decoration. Sterling Silver Overlay Bristol Blue Vase. Very Elegant. 11" Tall. No Hallmark
This auction is for a brilliant royal blue glass pedestal vase with sterling silver overlay. So beautiful! It measures 11 1/2" tall. There are four panels. One depicting a village type scene with a lake, dragon fly, cattails.I think! It is very ornate and hard to tell in some places, just use your imagination. The other three panels are fancy curly ques, lattice and large areas of silver separating each panel. The top is ringed with silver as is the clear glass bottom. It is probably antique/vintage as my mom had this for a long time. There are some scratches on the bottom, but I can't tell if it is a hallmark or not. Here is a wonderful art glass vase from the Victorian era. It is a semi opaque clam broth glass vase with a pontil on bottom. It stands about 5" high and has a bulbous base with a small neck and a ring collar. I am a little unsure as to the origin. It is definitely old. And the shape reminds me of Bristol Vases from England, but the lovely hand painted peaches and stems and leaves all around the piece look more like an American style of decoration, so I'm thinking maybe Smith Bros. If anyone out there can definitely id the piece, I would appreciate the information. It is a slightly yellowish and greenish semi opaque clam broth with many tiny white inclusions in the glass that give it a somewhat speckled appearance in places. It is in excellent condition. L.E. Smith BRISTOL #1301 Crystal 10.75" Tall Urn Vase
Here we have a very large footed Urn Vase in what looks like the Bristol pattern#1301 by L. E. Smith. It measures 10.75" tall by 6.25" across the top and weighs 4.25 pounds unpacked. There is a slight yellow tint to the otherwise clear glass and there are minor manufacturing flaws such as a tiny embedded bubble at the lip. A few straw hairs about 1" or less and a slight wobble and tilt from a not perfectly flat foot. There is also a flat chip on one corner of the foot but it does not affect the contour or appearance. The Bristol pattern ended production in 1970 and I believe this was one of the earliest pieces made but I do not know when production began. Very nice! Vintage Bristol Glass Ruffled Vase Aqua Sea Foam Green Flower Leaves
A Vintage Bristol Glass Vase. Measures just over 11" in height and 4" in diameter at the base. CONDITION: In nice shape. No chips. There's a manufacturing flaw around the ruffled rim(photo 8)it looks like a scar with some discoloration. A lot of the gold paint is missing from the ruffles and there's a good deal of flaking to the painted flowers. The inside bottom of the vase has some grime that I wasn't able to reach to clean. I purchase all of my items at auctions so cannot be sure of their history or whether they've come from smoke-free or pet-free homes. I do my best to list any damage or use. But I'm not an expert. Bristol Opaque Blue Glass Gold Trim Hand Decorated Vase
At a local estate sale we found this hand blown vintage blue opaque hand textured decorated floral with a butterfly and gold trim blue bristol glass vase. The vase stand appr. 9 1/4" tall. The vase has a hand decorated floral design on the front with painted leaves. The floral part of the design and the butterfly wings are textured and the design looks like it was painted and then something was sprinkled on top of the paint before it dried and feels textured. The top of the vase is crimped with gold trim surrounding on the edges. Gold trim is at three different areas on the base aboved the painted designand three lines at the bottom below the design. The gold trim has wear on the crimped and on the two lines that surround the bottom below the design. Some of the textured area has flaked off but you can still see the painted areas. On ... morethe bottom of each vase is a signature of F with a dot next to it.
