OUTSTANDING PAIR ANTIQUE FAMILLE ROSE VERTE DYNASTY LAMPS VASE MIRROR IMAGE PAIR
EXCEPTIONAL MIRROR IMAGE PAIR of Chinese Famille Rose/ Verte Dynasty lamps with gorgeous. Complex raised decoration. The images mirror each other so this is a true pair and the lamps feature two different views. On one side is a striped awning, draped pavilion with tiled floor. It's a party with elegantly dressed and coifed Lords and Ladies conversing while servants offer refreshment. On the opposing side is a lovely longtailed songbird in a rose thicket surrounded by butterflies. Both scenes are topped by raised golden lizards with long tails. The handles are green opposing or"kissing kitties" The"walls" dividing the scenes feature 2 pairs of scaled google eyed coy fish and abundant flora decoration. The surface of the lamps has a wonderful slightly raised texture where the paints were applied. The photos do not do ... moreproper justice to these fabulous lamps! They are large. Measuring 16 1/2" to the top of the vase and 9" wide. The mounts are antique brass and the bases are footed chinese wood stands in dark brown. I have just replaced sockets in both lamps and they function beautifully. The shades shown are not included in this auction but if you want them, I will include them in a separate box for an additional $100.00 plus shipping. In my opinion, these lamps really should have large custom made tall drum shades. This pair was purchased from a wealthy estate in South Beach about 10 years ago and are VERY FINE. I do not know the exact age and I am not going to take them apart to see the markings on the bottom of the vases. Ebay limits the number of photos to 12. RARE Antique PAIR 1860s Oxblood CASED Art Glass Mantle Vase Gilded Gilt BRITISH This listing is for a RARE pair of antique 1860’s cased glass vases. These art glass vases have a stunning marbled Oxblood coloring that ranges from nearly black to the deepest blood red then into shades of ruby. Bright claret, and golden brown. Oxblood is cased over a white interior. There is possibly an outermost layer of clear glass, as the surface is very glossy, but I am not certain. The pictures can’t do the glass justice. In person these vases really have presence. To give you an idea of the quality. The swirling appearance of the glass is reminiscent of the Marmoriertes or“marbled” glass produced by Loetz, though these vases were crafted a good decade or two before Loetz introduced their Marmoriertes in the latter half of the 1880’s. The vases have a very ... moresimple shape: shoulder style with bulbous body that narrows at the foot and a long elegant neck. But instead of the anticipated flared or straight form. The neck has a rare inverted design; it is widest where it joins the shoulder of the vase and becomes steadily narrower in an angled taper towards the rim, creating a most distinctive silhouette. The necks of the vases are decorated with hand painted gilding in a repeating circular motif and the rims of the vases are gilded also. To create the design. The pattern was etched onto the surface of the glass and then the gilding was hand painted over this. These vases look like they were formed using a mold, which is probable considering many of larger glass companies of the 19th century used molds in their manufacturing process. Each vase stands approx. 9 ½” tall. They are 4 ½” at the widest point. They measure approx. 2 ½” in diameter at the foot and 1 3/8” across the mouth. They are unmarked(as far as I can tell) which the earlier pieces often were. Both are in excellent antique condition with NO chips. Nicks, cracks or flea bites. These are both folk art pieces dating from the early 1900s and have a design of pokerwork on each of them which has been branded with a hot poker into the wood. these are both in reasonable condition but the varnish has worn on one of these as you can see but these can be revarnished if required or left in the original condition. Pair of Antique Chinese reversible bronze/brass stands. The stands are in good used condition. They are believed to be stands for a Bonsai tree. A pot, or a vase. The stands are both reversible so that they could hold two different sizes of vases. These items are beautifully designed and engraved. The measurements of the stands are 3in tall. And 11in across. Beautiful Antique Carl Sorensen Art Deco Verdigris Patina Vases 1920s-30s Here is a lovely pair of bronze vases created in Eastern Pennsylvania by artist Carl Sorensen in the great Art Deco period of the 1920s- 1930s. Bronze with verdigris patina and lines of bronze showing in a circular pattern around the bottom and moving up to midway on the vases. Beautiful craftsmanship. Mr. Sorensen eventually sold his wares through Roycroft and Tiffany. Working for TIffany in the 1930s. Some of these vases were numbered. This pair is not. This spectacular pair of vases show age, dings, wear inside of them, because they are vintage items. They appear to have been used a lot in their lifetime. They show rubbing on the bottom of the feet, although the signature Carl Sorensen is clearly visible, along with the S and Bronze mark. This is a beautiful pair of small German Dresden Floral urns. They are gorgeous little displays at only 6 inches high by 3 1/2 inches wide each. One is in excellent condition with only a few tiny nicks to a few of the floral bocage however the other one has a reglued lid and handle and each cherub is missing a limb. Few small nicks as well. However as you can see. It displays well with the other one and they are a very sweet and delicate pair! This is a lovely pair of Meissen porcelain handled vases. They are white with handpainted colorful bouquets on either side. There was gold gilt as well however most of it is worn away. One vase has no chips or repairs however the other has one handle broken and one side of the bottom base has been repainted on the flat part. Only one side. Both are first quality with no scratch marks and measure 8 1/4 inches high by 5 1/4 inches wide. Beautiful for the collector! Collectors: here we have a PAIR of Antique Art Nouveau Royal Dux Amphora Turn-Teplitz Vase circa 1905 10 3/4 inches tall Excellent condition. No chips, no cracks, no problems. A few people have asked for pictures of the bottom and about any marks on the bottom, I ADDED 2 Pictures of the bottom and I will explain(as best I can) the marks on the bottom, Looking at the picture of the bottom. You see on the right side some writing, it is in ink, there is some design that looks like the capital letter D or a C with a line through it and it also has the numbers 103 and it has an addition number 3 under the 103. OK That's the ink part on the right. Now the impressed marks. In the Center there is what looks like 4 impressed letters. With either the first letter being M, or the last letter being W, I do not know, the marks are filled in with the ... moreglaze finish and I can't even tell which way is up. ALSO. On the left side there are ALSO impressed marks, it looks like the top of a 9 and a 7, I think it says 97, the 7 part is very clear and crisp. Hope the pictures and explanation helps. Up for auction is an antique pair of Chinese export silver engraved poem vases in good condition for the age. There is normal age and wear to the vases with some lights scratches and dings. Each vase has two dings in the body. The largest is 11mm across and the smallest is 4mm. The bases have light dings on the rims and light scratches as well. Both vases are signed however I don't know the maker nor do I know how to read Chinese. Each vase has an engraved poem, one has one row of characters and the other has two rows of characters, and again I don't know what they say. This auction is for a pair of Egermann Bohemian Cut-To-Clear vases. These two vases are in very good condition with NO chips or cracks to be noted. The ruby birds have minor scratches and so do the leaves. The gold paint around the rim and detail of the bird has been worn so it is missing in some spots. But overall remains insignificant. Both of the vases have sharp pontil's They measure 6' inches tall with a rim diameter of 2' inches and stand on a base in which has a diameter of 2 3/8' inches. The entire background of the motif is etched. These vases are really nice and have a beautiful ruby red glow. RARE PAIR of Antique Nippon Royal Nishiki Floral and Gilt Moriage Vase - Japan M
For your consideration are a PAIR OF quite rare and exquisite antique Nippon vases! Their measurements are approximately 12 1/2" tall by 7 3/4" wide- each. One of them is marked with the Globe with Royal on top and Nishiki in middle and Nippon and Hand Painted underneath. They both have the Trademark 36163 in blue. There are also Japanese characters. This is referred to as Mark 91 in the Nippon Encyclopedia(Seventh Series) by Joan Van Patten. These were produced primarily for the domestic Japanese market and do not appear that often in the United States. Rendering this auction EXTREMELY RARE. To add it it's rarity, is the fact that I have the original pair, which one is often broken or lost throughout the century. They are hand painted with moriage and raised gilt. The flowers are outlined with raised dimensional gilt. The flo ... morewers appear realistic. They are in very good condition for being 107 years old. Some gilt and moriage are lost but none of their beauty are affected. After much research. My sister in law obtained these from her grandmother's estate. These were purchased directly in Japan and was brought here to the United States in 1946. Following her grandmother's death, these were handed down to her father, then subsequently to her. With all the Japanese memorabilia my sister in law owns. These are of no sentimental value, thus the sale of these extremely rare vases! Antique Vtg WWI World War 1 Large Brass Shell Trench Art Vase Pair-Art Nouveau I was lucky enough to a pair of these large brass WWI trench art vases at a local estate sale. These beautiful shell casing vases were hand crafted by the same artist. As the style of the art is so similar. They appear to be French. From the style& subject matter& were made from Remington 75mm brass shell casings for the French 75(also known as the Saint Chamois Tank) a large French artillery field gun used in WWI. Vase#1 This vase has a wonderful& bold art nouveau Cross of Lorraine in a fleur de lis design on the front. On the opposite side it is dated in large numbers 1914-1919. The design& numbers are raised& the background behind the raised graphics have a chiseled surface. The lower section is indented to about the halfway point. The shell ... morecasing is marked on the bottom"75 DE C 2465 17P. This trench art vase is in very good condition. The surface displays beautifully. There are some typical small dents along the rim. The top edge of the vase has an even border of copper showing. Which looks like an intentional element of the art, as it is so uniform in size. The vase measures an impressive 13.5" tall by 3.25" at the base. Vase#2 This one has a raised oak leaf& acorn design. Against a cross hatched background. The top edge is folded down to form a rim& the indented base section is slightly higher than on the first vase& more indented(forming more of a pedestal) with a scalloped top. The shell casing is marked Remington UMC 75 DE C 240L 15 C. With what looks like the numbers X T stamped into it. The trench art vase is also in very good condition. There is an area on the back of wear to the brass surface. They do bear resemblance to Sawankhalok Kiln ware due to the glaze/ribbing but I am pretty sure these are from the Changsha Kilns because of the spreading foot and tight swirl to base but I will let collectors ... moremake up their minds about this. Probably dating to the Song Dynasty and the decline of the kiln. If you require further images to examine at high resolution please message me with your email address. Overall condition is good to one. The other has a couple of rim chips.
