Antique English MINTON Majolica Pottery Victorian Vase Birds in Landscape
This is antique Victorian era vase by Minton in a Majolica style and glaze. It measures 8 1/2" tall and is glazed in colors of black. Brown, blue and yellow. The handpainted scene is same on both sides, 2 yellowish birds(sparrows? in flight in an autumn meadow landscape. The bottom has several markings, incised MINTON D 27, an N? in a circle, 3339? a symbol which has been scratched out, painted on E. The vase has a couple bits of damage, there is a 1/2" flake chip on rim of base which has been glued back into place. There is small bit of the glaze missing which can be repaired or painted in. Inside the neck there is a horizontal stress line which barely shows through and possibly dates from original manufacture. Still after 125+ years the vase still looks very nice. Antique Victorian Hand-Painted Nippon Vase Circa 1890-1900 Up for auction is a wonderful piece. A Victorian-era hand-painted Nippon vase. This wonderful piece stands about 12" in) tall(on stand, about 11"in) off) and 3.5"in) wide(on stand, 2.5" in off) Overall, the condition is great, but there are a few obvious damaged areas. The swan design has chipped off in some areas(refer to photos) and there seems to be tiny cracking throughout some of them, as well(refer to photos) this something a professional can easily repair. Besides that, the condition is wonderful; the main color is a unique bluish-white-gray color and the vase, as a whole, is not chipped, cracked, or broken in any way(except what was mentioned above) but could use a cleaning. This is a hand blown piece with a polished pontail mark. When exposed to a blacklight the white opaline glass glows a very soft pale green color and the baby blue crest glows a purple/ lavender color. The amber feet do not glow. The only problem I can find with this vase is where the amber glass flows upward in a leaf like pattern. There is some chipping to the leafy applied glass. This sand glaze process is done by spreading granulated pottery clay over the piece in it's wet state. When the clay hardens in the kiln it produces this unique'sand pebble' look. These pieces are extremely hard to find with out some damage to the delicate applied motifs and because of their age. As typical, this piece has minor damage to the leaves and petals that I did not even see until I started taking the close up photos. They are not easily noticed when the piece is being displayed. There are 2 small chips to the top rim and 1 small slither chip to the top rim. Due to the crackle glass these chips/nicks do not notice at all on display but are present so need mentioning. Vintage possibly Victorian Cased Glass Vase with Oriental Motif of Birds. Butterfly Branches, Pink Cherry Blossoms, Chrysanthemums, Bamboo, Iris. Very beautiful ivory base with a clear glass casing. The exterior primary decoration is a transfer. The decoration has an oriental motif. It includes a multi-colored scene with pink cherry blossoms. Branches, bamboo, leaves, chrysanthemums, iris, a butterfly and two birds. The underlying porcelain is ivory glass and on close inspection the clear glass mold marks are visible on the sides. A two mold process. The base is polished and smooth. There is gold banding around the perimeter on the top at the flared lip and about ½ inch above the base. There is no makers mark or signature visible to this seller. This cased glass vase is in excellent condition with no chips. Nicks, cracks, scratches, ... morestaining or restoration. This beautiful blown glass vase measures 7-1/4" tall and features a spectacular iridescent flower with vibrant red detail. The iridescent base does have a broken leg. A portion of the break is included. The vase still does stand very firm and straight. Otherwise in very good condition with only one very small. 2mm chip on the backside of one of the petals. All hand blown in the Zanfirico Glasswork. Measuring around: 8.0 inches(21.2 cm) tall x 3.3 inches(8.6 cm) wide. Measured by the shoulders from left to right. The Vase has two rough Pontils by the Handle. The Handle itsself is rounded. The Bottom and Top rim are polished flat. All feels good and looks very interesting with his yellow white netted Zanfirico alternating and unusal form and the contrast dark green handle& garland. Antique Victorian Cranberry & Vaseline Glass Epergne Vase 1890
Beautiful antique epergne dating to the 1890's. Gorgeous combination of cranberry and vaseline glass. The flutes have a stem design with extended pointed detailing and opalescent rims. The base has a fluted opalescent rim. The cranberry baskets have an intricate ribbing design and can swivel in their base. All hand blown glass. The epergne measures 14" high and 9" in diameter across the base. Selling in"as is" condition. The epergne includes three flutes. Two baskets and centrepiece all in very good condition. As is" The centre flute is missing and the third cranberry basket has its stem broken off. I will include it in case it can be repaired, otherwise the brass hardware can be removed and used to replace the basket. It is a blue Bohemian satin glass vase that measures 11" tall by 4 1/4" wide by just over 4 1/4" across the base. it has wear to all sides on the hand painting designs. And there is a small pin hole on the bottom front right corner as scene in the pictures. This is a beautiful vase that is worth restoring, some one who is a good artist with a brush could touch up the art and gold work, as for the pin hole it could have a drop of hot glass added or perhaps some super glue. this vase is sold as is. Antique Victorian Oriental enamelled bristol glass vase This is a very unusual beautiful quality piece of Victorian glass. Although much of this decorated glassware is called"Bristol" glass. It is very difficult to actually attribute where it was produced as this style of glassware was made in many different countries including Czechoslovakia, America, France etc. From the style. I would guess that it dates from around the 1880s. Has a very strong oriental influence to the design. The shape is ovoid on four gilded& enamelled feet. More like a flask rather than a vase. I would describe the glass colour as taupe, it is over painted with good quality raised enamels. The vase is in very good condition with no major damage. Cracks or chips. It does have one small surface flake chip, but this is very minor. The enamel work is also ... morein very good condition with very little wear, as is usual with these pieces the gilding on the feet and around the rim is worn. I was lucky enough to be able to purchase a few pieces and pass them on to you. These folks collected only the most unusual and highest quality pieces and this vase is no exception. The vase is in a six segment melon profile. Formed in mold with six melon segments, by casing a pale ruby glass in crystal, then blown in mold, after which was satinized and then decorated with white enamel flowers, berries, and foliage(which I think was gilded) The cylindrical collar decorated in a cross hatch geometric pattern in orange enamel which must have been gold gilded when new. Rim is ground flat. Pontil polished out before being immersed in acid bath to create satin finish. Item is numbered on the base'9481' and'49' Item has two small flea bites, one on the top rim and one on the very bottom base. The one on the top is barely noticeable and is the smallest of the two. Up for auction is a Beautiful Antique Ruffled Glass EPERGNE Victorian Flower Vase that measures approx. 13 1/4" tall including the stem/peg while peg measures approx. 1 1/2" deep x 1 1/4" in diameter. It is marked on the base with the numbers 23. The vase has a frosted backround that starts out blue near the base and transitions to white as it moves upwards. It has beautiful enamel painting and gold guilding while most of the gold has worn off of the ruffled rim. There are some minor chips as well as a nice chunk missing(shown in photo) but because of the ruffling they do not jump out at you. Victorian Art Glass Ruffled Rim Vase w/Applied Decoration!
A wonderful old Victorian cased glass vase. This interesting vase has a mauve interior and white exterior with some type of applied decoration on the front. The decorations almost look like beading. The ruffled rim looks to have had some type of accent paint around the edges which is now mostly worn away. This vase stands about 5 ½” tall at the highest point. Condition: This vase has no chips. Flakes, cracks, hairlines or repairs. As stated above the only issue is some wear to the decoration. It looks wonderful on display! Insurance is included in the shipping cost and I gladly combine shipping on multiple wins!
