Tall 14" Early Victorian 1830 Handled Vase Hand Painted Cobalt Ornate Gold Gild
Up for your consideration is this stunning Tall Early Victorian Vase. This vase was acquired by my great great grandmother of French origin around 1830. It has stayed in the same family for over 170 years. I was told by an appraiser that this piece is unmarked because it was not meant for export. I have a letter that documents who owned this vase and how it was acquired. This vase was acquired by saving coffee coupons as a promotion to sell coffee at a time when coffee was sold and delivered as many of us remember milk being delivered door to door. What is unclear. Because my great great grandmother lived in Cologne Germany, was if this was acquired in Germany or in the United States. The letter, dated July 19, 1987, verifying its origin will be included with this vase. It is an exquisite hand painted vase with beautiful pink roses. The cobalt ... moreblue and the generous use of gold gild, all typical of that early Victorian period. The handles give this piece an rich ornate appearance. It is in absolute perfect condition with no chips. Cracks or evidence of repair. The gold gilding shows very little wear, most probably because it has been displayed only and not handled for so many years. The evidence of age can be seen on the bottom of this piece in photo# 11. Beautiful Burmese Vase w/ Applied Cherries Victorian Style
Beautiful Burmese glass vase with applied cherries and leaves. Reproduction possibly 1970s Italian- notice the color is not as warm as true Mt. Washington/Webb Burmese, paler yellow and deeper bluish pink. The crimped rim and the cherries are a much better color match than appear in the photos. Nicely proportioned, the vase is 9" h with the top being 6" x 4 1/2" and belly also 6" No chips or cracks, but on there is a dark line in the crimping on the front lip(manufacture flaw, see photo 8) Back lip is clean. This is an amazing Victorian vase or candle holder. The piece is designed amazingly with vines entangled with leafs and flowers sprouting from the ends. There is four holders that set into the piece that I am guessing would hold either flowers. Or candles. The center holder is larger, and defiantly was meant to hold flowers, as the hold has a edge for keeping the flowers tighter together. This exceptional late 1800s bud vase features a highly detailed electroplated cast metal base with naturalistic thistle leaves and blossoms supporting a mouth blown and wheel cut bud vase. The ensemble measures 7 3/8” tall overall with the bud vase measuring 6 ½” x 2 ½” overall and the heavy base 4” x 2 3/8” I can find no marks and the silver plate is quite good. You will note minor dents to the base as well as two professional solder repairs re-attaching the thistle leaves. The very tip(1/8” of the bud vase has been chipped off and polished. The glass displays well in the stand. But just a bit off kilter. Victorian French Vase - Porcelain
This is a very pretty mid Victorian French porcelain piece of fireplace garniture. They usually are found in pairs and were used as spill holders at each end of the fireplace mantle. These small"vases" were used to hold long paper tapers that lit the fire(thus the fan shape to the top which is common and held a good number of tapers in a decorative way) but the footed shape and the fanciful acanthus leaf handles. Drapery and black ground of the medallion of flowers and blue coloration are all very French in style. These often do not have a maker mark and the country of origin was not required on porcelain and china until 1891 with the McKinley Tariff act required the mark of all exports. France started around 1867 and looking at the style this would be just before this period that they were beginning to mark their ware. The inside is a beautiful snow white satin. The outside has the two tone look of blue to pale blue from top to bottom. The cased glass edge is white and has a wonderful double ruffle that makes the rounded edges in a box form ruffle. This piece is in excellant condtion. We have not yet found a signiture but believe it may be attributed to Thomas Webb. The piece is in mint condition with only normal wear for a 19th century piece. Victorian Cased Glass Twisted Tree Trunk with Thorn's Vase possibly Webb
We are offering this lovely late 1800’s clear and yellow cased glass tree trunk vase. The twisted tube like glass stems delicately crafted by overlaying clear glass and encasing yellow and white streak glass. The vase is in a style of comparable items from Stevens and Williams or Webb. But I am not certain. There is some damage to the thorn type glass tips. And there is a few areas of the clear glass missing from the top of the vase. The tree trunk feet have been partially broken off or damaged. However it stands up straight just fine on its own. The epergne glass vase stands in a metal ring encircled and held by three cherubs while bottom glass sits on a hollow pedestal within the center of the base. Ornate swag detail encircles the base rim. The base is some type of metal of either spelter. Pot metal or a mixture with thin brass. It has quite of a weight. The gold gilt has age-related wear with a bit of shiny gold peaking thru on some surface. The Cherubs are off-white with gold hair. The cherubs and metal base have no breaks or repairs. I know this is Vintage. But I am not sure exactly around what time frame its from. If you have any info on these please send me a message. Looks old to me. Beautiful hand painted porcelain or ceramic Vase or Urn style vase with Handles. Measures 14.75 inches tall. Measurements are across the front for width,not in diameter around. Top flute area opening is 5 inches wide. Main bulge area is around 8 inches Wide.Bottom standing base measures 5.75 inches. There are some flaws with this but it still is mostly in tact and is very beautiful so I thought I would still try to sell it, someone may want it. There are cracks in the painted areas, I am guessing maybe from wheather issues, casusing it to crack in to high or cold temperatures. VINTAGE ANTIQUE LUSTER LAMP- VASE PAINTED This Vase/Lamp comes from the Pitts family estate. The lamp was in use in the family home sometime from the 50's to the 80's and we are unsure of where it originally came from. For it's age it is in excellent condition and light paint wear. We did not find any seams on this piece there are only a few very small bubbles and inside there is at least 1 very small at the surface inside. I can't feel any chips- there are no cracks or damage. The edges feel to be cut and have some sharpness. approx 12 1/2" t& 6 1/4" d top 6"d bottom. The crystals hang approx 5" overall(all 3 pcs) there are 10 total crystals- 3 per hanging. This is what we believe to be a two part moulded. Late Victorian/Edwardian hyacinth vase, dating from approximately 1900. The vase is in good condition. This means. Of course, that it shows some wear and tear to the base and elsewhere commensurate with use. The vase is of baluster shape and is amber in colour. The vase rim has been sheared off asymmetrically at manufacture leaving it with a couple of bumps in the glass to give it character. The rim measures 6 cm(2.4 inches) in diameter. The bowl flares out into a baluster shape with a stepped base which measures 8.5 cm(3.4 inches) in diameter. The vase is 14.5 cm(5.8 inches) in height. There are a number of bubbles towards the foot of the vase. None of which appear to have burst. There is a single chip off the outside edge of the bowl rim. There are no other chips. Victorian Bristol Glass Vase - Hand Painted and Decorated/Gilded Beautiful
This beautiful Bristol hand painted vase is in excellent condition. It is 13 1/2" tall. The base is 4" wide. With the neck narrowing at 3 3/4" It has an hour glass effect. Vibrant purple hyacinth flowers with wispy green and gold reeds surround a beautiful white lily. Soft cream coffee colored background makes this piece very pleasant to the eye.
