It is a beautiful example of an early American pattern glass design with the added color and intricate design in pressed glass which in several light sources looks like cut glass. The lovely pierced stand features a bird and flowers on each side and has a large scrolled floral band at the bottom. We do not have the cup for it. It's 17" tall at the top of the handle. This pitcher had previous damage such as dents on each side of both knobs and light denting on the front. Someone loved it so much that they had it partially repaired and re-plated! You can still see the indentation on each side and a partially removed dedication on the front dated 1889. There is no makers mark but most likely American Made(Simpson Hall Miller or Meriden comes to mind) with this mark"Warranted Quadruple Plate" A tiny piece on the side used as a stopper was broken off but we still have it. Up for auction is a Scarce. McCoy Pottery Company of Roseville, Ohio(1910 to 1990) American Art Pottery, Traditional Victorian Era Style Pitcher-Jug with a Gloss Thistle(Very Light Violet) Glaze in"Factory Mint" Like New Condition, Circa Mid-1970s to 1980s. I want to begin by stating this beautiful pitcher is the real McCoy. I guarantee it was made by the McCoy Pottery Company in their later years when they were owned by the Lancaster Colony Corporation(LCC) from 1974 until 1985 and finally until the pottery closed in 1990 when the Designer Accents Company owned them as the McCoy Ceramics Company. I'm not a McCoy expert. But when I first came into this area where I live now I found a good amount of pottery marked exactly like this pitcher and it didn't have a name to tell me who made it. I found enough of this top quality, ... moreAmerican made art pottery that I made it a point to research it and find its maker. I've found plenty of vases marked this way, a couple of cookie jars and other items like this pitcher. Luckily many of the vases were documented as being from the"McCoy Roseville Floraline Fineforms" line which LCC started and Designer Accents continued making for several years until they closed the pottery. Now when I see the characteristics of this style of mark I know without a doubt it's a McCoy product. This jug has no chips. Cracks, glaze crazing, scratches, scuffs, stains or repairs of any kind. I'm grading it as"Factory Mint" because the pitcher is like new, but it does have factory flaws which have been there since the piece was removed from the McCoy Pottery's kiln. These flaws are mostly a few scattered pin size glaze pops, a little uneveness in the glaze around the handle and on the very top edge there's a place where the glaze is a little thin. Vintage Reverse Swirl Pitcher. For auction is a Victorian glass pitcher with a reverse swirl design in an aqua blue and white pattern which may be either Northwood or Hobbs. The pitcher has raised ribs which swirl down in a counter clockwise direction and the blue and white pattern spiraling in a clockwise direction. The pitcher appears to be hand blown and the ground pontil mark is visible on the bottom. It has a nicely detail handle. The colors in the glass start darker at the top and gradually become lighter as they move to the bottom of the pitcher. The inside of the pitcher is white. It is in very good condition with no chips. Cracks or breaks. There is a small rough spot on the spout that appears to be a manufacturing flaw when the spout was made. It stands 7 ¾” tall and about 7 ¾” to the edge of the handle. This very fine Porcelain Teacup. Saucer, and Cream Pitcher is an individual size in the Victorian tradition of tea service. The delicate and detailed hand-painting on each piece depicts a man and a woman walking together in front of an estate castle in all their finery. The saucer is a delicate leaf shape. There is a distinct patina. Or sheen, to these pieces that I have never seen before- it creates a shiny pearl finish. There is a substantial amount of 22 karat gold embellishment on all three pieces. The handles on both the teacup and the pitcher and gilded w/solid gold. The artist also incorporated fine gold into the rim and pedestal base of the cup, encircles each painting, and the entire saucer is etched with gold designs and the hand-painting in the center. BEAUTIFUL! GORGEOUS! This Victorian Set is Gorgeous. I am not certain the age or maker of this set. However, other similar sets claim 1870-1905. This set is in almost perfect condition. The pitcher is excellent. There are no chips or cracks. The pitcher is a tankard style. It has a beautiful ruffled rim. It has gold gild that has a moderate amount of wear. However. The hand painted enamel design is almost perfect. It stands appx. 11" tall. It is appx. 7" wide at the largest point. The tumblers are in great condition. There is some slight wear to the gilding. There is one tumbler that has literally a tiny crack on the rim(picture) Also. There is a tiny flea bite on the rim of the same tumbler. There is one tumbler that has some of the gold gild that ran on the edge(picture) The tumblers are not smooth on the inside, but have a design ... morethat has lines. Antique Victorian Opalescent Ice Blue Striped BLOWN GLASS SYRUP PITCHER
Up for auction, Gorgeous Victorian Era Blown Glass Antique Syrup Pitcher. Beautiful Opalescent and Ice Blue Striped Glass. ORIGINAL spout and hinged lid. Measures approx. 7-1/2" tall by 5-1/2" wide inc. handle. There appears to be a hairline crack that runs from the rim to the base on a diagonal line. We put water in the pitcher and set it outside on a paper towel. After three hours there was not a drop of water on the towel. There was a little sweating to the outside glass but no apparent leaking. It could have been manufactured like this or it could be a mold/seam line.I am unsure but it doesn't leak. This imperfection is not apparent when displayed from the other side and in no way. Does it take away from its' beauty. Please see all photos. SOLD AS IS. Remarkable~Victorian~Green Gold Enameled Pitcher/Tumbler Set~Ca. 1905
This is hands down the nicest enameled pitcher and tumbler set I have ever seen. It is complete with 6 tumblers and there is NO DAMAGE and only minor wear. Each of the six tumblers feature a smooth exterior and an 8 paneled interior. There is varying wear to the gold on the rims(usually it is totally worn away) The remaining gold on the sides of the tumblers shows very minor wear. The enameling is exquisite and in very good condition with the exception of where enamel was laid over the 1/2" wide band. The pitcher is equally as nice. If not better. Much of the guilt on the rim is still intact and the five gold bands are beautiful! There is the same appropriate age related wear to the enameling over the gold. One side has a tree with birds and the other side has a Hunter with a gun and Dog. It is marked on the bottom with what looks like LJ or a W I am not sure. It is in Poor used condition. It has a big chip and a piece missing with a piece that was glued on. Sorry I don't have the missing piece. It has a lot of crazing and the side with the tree has damage on the bottom of the trunk.
