Location: Greece These are very Collectable French Art Nouveau glass vases. The maker is Legras. One of the glassmakers of St. Denis and Patin, near Paris France. The ... moredate is circa 1910 The vases are 11" high with an elongated. Slender, baluster body, spreading to domed circular base 4" wide, narrowing at the neck 2 ¾" The signature is in green. 1 inch below the mouth and reads as"Leg. It is the signature that Legras used on the production that wasn't cameo or acid etched. Mont Joy-Legras& Cie, Verreries et Cristalleries) Legras produced quite a range of different and original art glass. However a significant part of their production followed the styles of Galle, Daum, Moser, Rene Lalique, Schneider etc. Sometime in the late 1920 Legras’s production of art glass effectively ceased. The glass is in at least two layers. A clear inner layer, and the outer layer with the yellow powdered colored glass added with a hand painted green cascading vine and tendrils design. There are no chips or cracks. There is some wear to the body commensurate with age and use and they would benefit from a professional clean. Not knowing how to best clean this type of glass. Thanks for viewing! French faience vase from Rouen. France. I believe it to be late-19th c. This has a VERY fine hairline crack in the glaze on the inside. This crack does not show on the outside. It's too fine a crack to take a picture of. And there is a small chip in the yellow glaze on the top edge. About 1/8th of an inch long. In my opinion, neither of these slight defects mar the beauty of this vase. I do combined shipping. An impressionist-style barbotine pottery vase by Edouard Gilles of Paris. France, ca. late 1870s to early 1880s. The heavy, footed vase is decorated with large roses in shades of pink and yellow with green and teal leaves and stems in shades of brown applied to a mottled dark ground shading from black to light grey. Great hand painted Old Paris porcelain lidded urn dating to the first half of the 19th century. Very large measuring about 16 1/2" tall and about 9 1/2" at its widest. No chips or visible damage although there is a crack in the finial's twisted fish(which probably were reglued upon close inspection) It was re bolted not too long ago which is a positive in my eyes also. There is some light to moderate wear on the some gilt. But overall this is in excellent displayable shape. Very heavy. Unsigned, which is customary. Fantastic to display. He was already an experienced glassmaker. And successfully produced glass in many types and styles. His new business venture became profitable enough for the family to take over the established Pantin glassworks in 1897. Somewhere around 1900, possibly at the great Paris Exhibition, Legras discovered Emile Galle, and Legras decided to seriously concentrate on producing art nouveau style glass, both cameos like Galle and a wide range of other techniques. In 1909, Auguste retired and the company was taken over by his son Charles, who started to focus on the early scent bottlesbeing designed by Rene Lalique, getting a contract to produce some early onesbefore Rene Lalique was fully geared up to produce them. Antique Art Nouveau vase. Carved cameo glass. Enamel, gilding. Made by Legras in France circa 1890-1910. Measures a little over 12 1/4 inches tall. Vase with double round base and bowl. With extremely long, tapering neck. The bowl at the top much like a goblet in shape. The glass is mottled- colours ranging from yellow to blue with the predominant shade being green. The outer layers of glass are carved white apple blossoms with yellow and orange inner details, both carved and coloured. Fine stems(brown) and foliage(green) in the Japanese taste. The apple blossom theme is also Japanese inspired as is the extreme elegance of the vase. The area including the rim and stretching down a fair way. Assymmetrically, is richly gilded the gilding also being carved and patterned. Behind the gilding, we see a lot more of the blue tones of the glass. This gorgeous vase was made by Lalique of France. It features a bulbous. Lobed base with a long, slender neck in frosted and cut glass. It is a tall piece measuring a little over 13 1/2" tall and is about 5 1/2" wide across the bottom. It is in great condition with no chips or cracks. It has some minor shelf wear on the bottom and some residue inside that will likely clean out. It is signed with the Lalique script signature on the bottom. 19C SIGNED FRENCH LIMOGES MINIATURE ENAMEL ON COPPER VASE OF A DANDY 3rd of 3 I have been very fortunate to have been able to purchase a single owner estate of very beautiful and choice.Mostly French Empire period to Napoleon III porcelains, circa 1800 to 1870. It is painted all the way around in bright enamels. The main decoration is of a young bewigged dandy standing in a country setting. These"magnifiers" were an affectation of there day and had little to do with seeing better and had everything to do about style and status. Sort of the same as owning a Louis Vuitton wallet. Old Paris Porcelain. Lovely 19th century French porcelain spill vase with hand painted floral decoration. This vase is marked only with a raised number 46. The vase stands 7 ½” 19 cm) tall and has a top width of 5 1/8” 13 cm) This piece is in very good condition. With no chips, cracks, or repairs. The gilt decoration is worn on some areas, but most of the gold still remains. There are several tiny dark specks on the inner top back edge. These tiny dots did not come off when I cleaned the vase. They are not too noticeable because they are so small. The inside is quite clean, with only a small bit of debris from prior use caught in the nooks and crannies of the inner mold imperfections. They made many wall plaques and vases with applied fruits. Blossoms and flowers. You won't see these too often unless they are at an auction house. Look on the internet and you will see these selling for thousands! This piece is in almost perfect condition. There are some very minor chips that are old so it does not stand out. A piece this old and intricate it would be impossible to not have some small nicks on the flowers or relief. The base color of the vase is brown and beige. It has the effect of brush strokes. The Flowers are colors of pink and peach the leaves are green. The colors are all variations, like in nature. I am selling off my collection ... moreof French Barbotine/ Majolica. I am trying ebay before I take them to a dealer which takes a large cut. So these are great prices. I have tried my best to look for any damage and try to accurately describe what I see. These are all Antiques pieces I collected from France. So they are old and not without some aged appearance. Any minor chips are old and restores before I bought it. On the lip of the vase there is a white mark, I believe it to be paint on top, I have not tried to scrap it off. It does not appear to me as a nick. The bottom does have a nick. The impressed Longchamp is very hard to read and I needed a magnifying glass to read. It is by the nick. I have another piece of Longchamp I am selling so I know what the sign should look like since the plate I have is more visible to see the markers mark) The mark says Longchamp in a semi circle at the bottom of the semi circle looks like de fer. Lovely French Faience Art Nouveau Deco Dalpayrat? Oxblood Lamp Ceramic Vase This vase is an antique lamp stamped“Made in France” It is a turn of the century art nouveau style. This lamp has the famous Oxblood red glaze that is a common among pieces by Dalpayrat and Pierrefonds. Known as sang de boeuf or flambé glaze by the French. It uses copper to produce the intense red color. It became fashionable in the late 19 th century in Europe as artists wished to emulate the beautiful porcelain of century’s old Chinese masterpieces. Oxblood glazes are produced when copper is reduced of its oxygen during the firing and re-oxidised in the cooling. Oxbloods can be translucent or opaque and vary from rich deep reds. There is also a little roughness around the base where the brass meets the ceramic. All of this is shown in the photo set. Antique 19th Century Gien French Majolica Faience Vase Florentine Griffins Rare
This is a truly stunning little vase. From the Gien Factory in France and I believe that this is an early mark. I believe at least 19th Century. It has the most ornate Florentine style design. Including two Griffins on the base. Heavy enamel type hand painted decoration. The detail throughout is outstanding. The dark ground colour really makes the designs"pop" Paint is still all bright and vivid. Sadly at one point in its life. It must have been dropped, as it looks as if the neck has been broken and repaired. One can see a glue line and a small chip around the middle. See all of my pictures for details of the condition. I feel sure that this could be restored to a much higher standard and given the quality of the item, could certainly be worthwhile. This listing is for a very beautiful and large. Circa 1830’s, French Old Paris porcelain hand painted vase. The vase measures 16 ½ inches or 42 cm high. And is 6 ½ inches or 16.5 cm at its widest. The vase has a low round foot with a flared and fluted rim. The body of the vase is all hand painted. At the center is a man playing sweet music to his lovely lady. ... moreThey sit in an outside setting under a tree. As she reclines against a berm and rests her arm on her companion sheep. The landscape around them continues around the vase for a pleasant rolling landscape with blue mountains and a babbling brook in the distance. The vase is in excellent condition.
