The coloring is more light blue at the top and gradually changes to light yellow at the bottom. I believe the harware to the base and rim is brass. There is expected wear to the metal with a few light dents but nothing distracting. I has been wiped down with soft cloth and water but you may want to do further cleaning and shining. As I look at the brass feet and hardware I think of a Czech/Bohemian art glass common in the late 1800's. However. As I have had it on display, I have had comments that the paintings are similar to Mt Washington. By the way, the enamel paintings are very intact and still with lots of color. There is only very light surface wear in the form of rubs or light brushing marks. I really don't know if some of this just part of the painted design or not. There are no scratches or damage to the glass. It is 5 7/8 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches across at the widest part. This beautiful Portieux Vallerysthal Mint Green French Opaline Vase measures about 8.75" tall. And is about 4.5" in diameter. The bottom has what appears to be a W mark on it as pictured. Opaline glass was made originally in Bohemia. France and England. This set used green glass which had uranium salts in the formulation resulting in its fluorescing very strongly yellow-green under UV(or black) light. The pitcher stands 9 1/2" to the top of the handle while the bowl has a 14" diameter. Both have ground and polished pontils. The 5th and 6th pictures show how the bottom and top of the handle are attached. That style was common until about 1875. Condition is excellent, the only wear being very light scratches to the interior bottom from the pitcher being placed in it and minor shelf wear to the bottoms of both pieces. This very beautiful pair of Victorian Lusters are in blue Opeline enamelled glass and have the original crystals.These wonderful antique Lusters still have their original dragon fly and lotus flower enameled design with some of the gold remaining. They measure 11 1/2 inches tall and 5 inches across both the top and the base. The glass bodies of the lusters are in gretat condition with no damage of any kind. However much of the gold enamel is gone along with some of the colored enamel decoration.They each have 8 original crystals. Most of these have minor chips.Two have more damage but are still intact. They are mirror like and very beautiful- note the crystals have been unhooked and packed separatly for shipping to avoid furthur damage. Late VICTORIAN Opaline Glass Basket Vase Applied Decoration CHERRIES & LEAVES
On offer is a late Victorian/ Edwardian period basket/ vase with applied decoration. C.1900 or thereabouts. The body of the piece is a creamy-coloured off-white; as you can see from the final photo, it fluoresces green under UV light and therefore has uranium content. The rim, handle and stalks of the decoration are amber with the cherries in cranberry/ red while the leaves are a combination of the two colours. These pieces with amber trailing on a creamy coloured body are often attributed to the Stourbridge glassmaker Stevens and Williams but a number of other companies in that region also produced items with applied decoration perhaps most notably Boulton and Mills. In any case. The decoration is very well done; the cherries hang very naturalistically on their stalks. The base has a neatly polished out pontil mark in the centre indicating ... morea good quality piece. Condition—absolutely excellent. No chips of cracks. Beautiful Antique VICTORIAN Etruscan Gilt Brass & Steel Opaline Glass Bracelet
This is a very unusual and beautiful costume bracelet from Victorian times! Metal is a gold"gilt" over base metal(probably brass) An intricate"Etruscan" beaded design outlines the cut steel or gunmetal pieces and the opaline glass parts as well. Opaline glass was manufactured in France in the 1800's. This particular glass has a purplish-pinkish hue that is semi transparent. Bracelet's inner circumference is 7 inches and adjusts down to about 6 inches. Width at widest point is 1 3/8 inches. Bracelet hinges simply with a button and three hole settings. Victorian white opaline glass single stem EPERGNE base with uranium glass edging
On offer to tempt you today I have a Victorian era white opaline glass epergne base. Possibly of French origin The frilled edge has an applied line of uranium green glass that glows under black light. The stem and foot are hollow to accommodate a single flute and you can feel where the edges have been ground much as you would find in a decanter neck. In very good condition for it's age. No chips or cracks. There are one or two light surface scratches from use and a wear pattern to the base commensurate with age along with the odd air bubble due to the manufacturing process. I found both lamps in a local antique shop that receives estate donations. I have two lamps exactly the same. Both lamps have been rewired and work great. You are bidding on one lamp but the other can be bought too) It's in another listing. The base of the lamps could be pewter ... moreor rhodium not spelter as I thought I checked other spelter lamps and this is a very heavy metal or solid white brass more likely pewter. Measurements: Height close to 37in to finial Blue Glass Lamp is 11in from burner to Bottom Stand 22 The lamp measures 18in around the bottom base blue section the top section measures 15.5 around the glass itself is 11.5 the 18 in around it's the blue section around the VO motif section. The bottom is 7inX7in has no breakage etc. Both lamps are working I have posted them lighted on some of the pics. Also the pole or rod can be adjusted to make it shorter or 36in with the center screw in the middle of the double sockets. You are bidding on two exact lamps Thank you for checking out my items.
