She actually worked for the Boston& Sandwich Glass Co from 1880-1884. But"Mary Gregory" pieces didn't start becoming popular until the 1920's. Anyway, this is a light blue translucent/semi-opaque frosted glass vase, with the classic painting in white, of a young child at play. There is gold accenting on the top rim, just under the painting and around the base. It has a smooth pontil. It measures 4 3/4" tall, 3 1/2" top diameter and 2 1/2" base diameter. I found this at an estate sale. The condition is wonderful. There are no chips, cracks or repairs on it. The vase is hand blown and rendered in a fantastic turquoise blue. This jar stands 7.5" tall and is about 3.5" at its widest. The painting is wonderfully whimsical; this looks like Eros getting into trouble as usual. His finger is to his lips: Shhhhh. One of the features I particularly liked about this piece is that it is embellished all the way around the bottom and the top with beads of enamel paint. Did you notice the bottom? First. Mary Gregory vase - cranberry glass - antique Victorian 19th c- Boy Butterfly
This is a beauty! An antique cranberry glass Mary Gregory vase. Which hails I believe from the 19th century, Victorian era. This vase features a boy reaching for a butterfly. This has a unique form. With a lovely top that is cut in an attractive beveled design. There are two little swirly clear glass accents, one on each side of vase. This measures 9" high. Base is 3-1/2" wide, width is 5-1/4" at widest point. There are some bubbles in the glass. And wear marks to the base. There is a small smudge of white to the above left of boy's head on outside of vase. It almost looks like it could be the painter's fingerprint. Otherwise. Very, very fine condition! A genuine antique'Mary Gregory' blue ruffled vase hand painted with enamels. It has been hand blown and has all the ripples. Striations and tiny bubbles associated with antique glass of this age. Country of origin I believe is probably Bohemia and dating to late 19th/early 20th century, so the Victorian/Edwardian period here in England. The base has a rough snapped off pontil mark. SIZE- Pictures are MAGNIFIED to show detail, so please judge size by measurements It measures approximately 7 3/4 inches(19.6 cm) in height x 3 3/4 inches(9.5cms) in diameter at the widest part. CONDITION IS VERY GOOD antique condition with no chips. Cracks, repairs etc. There are some small surface scratches to the main body of the vase on the back and it is possible that the rim was gilded at some time, as I can just spot tiny traces of it, but this has ... moreworn away on the whole. Beautiful vintage Bohemian Glass cranberry small footed vase with white enamel scene decoration of a boy with bird and trees. This is one of vintage art glass inspired in the old Mary Gregory American style made in Czechoslovakia. Vase is in very good overall condition with a tiny flea bite chip at the edge of base and another one at edge of top edge. This little imperfections could be a manufacturing flaw. They are not easy to spot and I tried to show one of them on last picture. The dimensions are: 6 1/8 inches tall, 3 1/4 at the top and 2 5/8 inches at the base. Item SOLD AS IS! Large Blue Coinspot Mary Gregory Vase
This offering is for a large glass vase with a coin spot design in a gorgeous shade of blue. It is decorated with an exquisite Mary Gregory style painting. On the front is a standing woman with long hair and flowing robes. Surrounded by trees to her left and right. On the back is a single plant. Perhaps this was the mark of the artist. Thin gold paint was applied around the neck and base. Height is about 12-1/8"The mouth is ground and 3"wide. Smooth base. Exact age& country of origin is unknown. I believe it to be a genuine antique of the Victorian era. With original period paint. Probably American. Condition in my opinion is outstanding. I deal mostly in antique bottles and know glass. It is decorated with the hand painted enamel image of a garden fairy standing on a flowering branch reaching out for some butterflies. The reverse is painted in a matching manner.
