Absolutely beautiful and antique. tiny. cut glass bud or rose vase. Stands about 3" high, diameter at top is 2" Glass is thick, and the little vase has weight. There are no nicks or chips or cracks, no damage except for one tiny pinpoint of a scratch to the red band that circles the center of the vase. Cast iron or guilded metal and marble, alabaster or slag glass table lamp with mid century modern drum shade in good to very good working condition. The brass, gold tone or guilded finish is worn off in some areas and there is a small chip or knick in the marble base shown in the pictures. Also along the upper side of the urn body I noticed a difference in coloration while taking the pictures, it does not look like a crack but I am just not sure. Both the lamp and shade have a very subtle light green tint. This heavy marble lamp is approximately 20" tall from the base to the top of the finial and 10.5" from the 4.5" square base to the top of the urn. This is a beautiful antique gold gilded brass Eagles footed art glass pedestal compote or urn or vase. Including the Eagles. It measures 9 1/4 inches tall(23.5 cm) Without the Eagles, it measures 8 3/4 inches tall(22.2 cm) The glass section measures 4 1/2 inches tall(11.4 cm) The bottom brass part also measures 4 1/2 inches tall(11.4 cm) The top opening is 3 1/4 inches wide(8.3 cm) Measuring from one corner of a foot to another corner of a foot it's 3 5/8 inches wide(9.3 cm) The glass is frosted and has great-looking tiny ovals all over. I don't know how this effect was created. The handles are highly detailed Eagle heads. The base has beautiful detail also. Including the 4 feet. I don't think it's bronze because it's not heavy enough. So it must be brass. But the intricate detail is wonderful. The rim around the top of ... morethe frosted glass has a very slight bend in it(please see photo) There is a slight chip when you take it apart where the brass meets the glass. But it's inside and doesn't show when you screw the little piece of brass back that connects the base with the glass(please see photo) There is also a small chip where the top of the glass meets the brass. But it's on the inside. However. You can see it if you look at it from a certain angle(please see photo) It has a great old rich patina to it. Surprisingly. It's not marked with a company name. The glass urn features a geometric design cut around the base and body. And floral and fern design around the top border. The sterling lid is made and marked by International Silver Co. The sterling silver lid features a mirror-like finish and a tall finial. The glass on this piece has a few mold lines visible from the interior. It has no chips. No cracks, and no problems of any kind. The silver lid has several pin-head sized dings or shallow dents. And it has also had a monogram removed. A great piece to store cookies. Antique Vaseline Glass Grape Etch Samovar Decanter Urn in Silverplate
Here is a rare and beautiful antique samovar decanter made in the 1920's. I have seen this piece attributed to both Cambridge Glass and Paden City Glass. It is a large Vaseline glass urn with an etching of grapes. Leaves and vines on the front. The samovar sits in a handled silverplate holder. It stands 14" high with the top off. There is decorative metal banding around the top and bottom. The handles are secured with metal banding and screws. The spigot works. The glass is yellow-green Vaseline and glows brightly under a black light. See photo 12. The silverplate has wear. The bottom is signed Century Silverplate in a circle. The top is heavy metal, but I do not think it is silverplate. Condition is excellent for the glass. There are no chips, cracks or stains. This is a great piece that is not often seen. A person had an identical one and this is what he wrote on his" There was a magazine article stuck inside dated July 1994. The article talks about this type of item. This chalice music box is also a covered candy dish. Probably dating from 1915-1925. The metal is probably spelter or other white metal. And the article also stated it probably originated in Czechoslovakia or in one of the countries of Western Europe" PNCW Pewter Cobalt Glass Urn Chalice Cup Compote This is very rare and detailed ornate compote/urn from the 1920's signed PNCW. Made is USA. The cobalt blue glass cup insert is is held by a antiqued gold looking metal. The metal work has a ornate ... morefruit and leaf theme. P.N.C.W. PNCW stands for Progress Novelty Casting Works who were famous for their plating after which they lacquered the castings to prevent tarnishing. THEY ALSO DID THE CASTING FOR MUSIC BOXES. It is approximately 8 1/2 inches tall. We are not certain that the metal is all pewter. Possible smelter. It looks like the heavily decorated exterior might be separate sheaths of metal, attached in panels by the thin bands that are shown in the photo of the lid. Some of the surface shows vestiges of a yellowy color which makes us wonder if the decorated surface is brass. The underside of the lid is quite smooth and silvery gray. The finial is hollow. We did not attempt to clean or polish the metal. It looks like the finial was added after as there appears something that makes it look added after the casting. The cobalt blue glass insert is in perfect condition. We am clueless as to how this decorative item was meant to be used. The bottom is marked P.N.C.W. Made in U.S.A. ANTIQUE CORNUCOPIA & URN HISTORICAL FLASK LANCASTER GLASS WORKS NY 1800'S BOTTLE
Being offered is this antique Cornucopia and Urn Historical Flask embossed"Lancaster Glass Works N.Y. It was made in the 1800's. The color is a nice shade of aqua. It still has the old glass stopper in it. The flask measures approximately 7 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches wide. The glass on the bottom of the bottle arches up inside and there is a big rough. Sharp, open pontil on the bottom. There are lots of bubbles here and there including a long narrow bubble in the neck. There are also a couple of tiny specks of foreign matter embedded in the glass. There is a white one on one side edge and also a tiny black speck on the opposite side edge. These were from when it was made, and are inside the glass, you can't feel them. The condition is good.There is one shallow flea bite on the bottom. Very tiny. The bottom shows some typical ... moredullness/ wear as you would expect to see in a piece that is over a century and a half old. Someone used this flask. There is a small amount of dirt/ residue inside probably from whiskey. It will probably clean out with windex. It does not appear to look'sick' I did not remove the stopper because I didn't know if I could get it out without ruining the cork on it. It is nice that it is still there. This vase has unusual 19th century styling in the wide ruffled necks and the paneled blown out bottom. On the sides are bubbles or teardrops in the glass. The ruffled top shows off the cased glass white that is inside. The outside has a lovely iridescent finish or Satin. This vase is very striking and in great condition. Or the Coventry maker, although that is what most I've seen on the net listed as, this came from an estate sale so I don't have any info on it. DESCRIPTION: This is an antique glass bud vase from around the 1800's that measures 6 1/4" tall. The highly reflective surface played havoc with the camera. The bottom shows the true color of the silver over the entire piece. It was hand painted with white leaves and design with colored flowers. There are no chips. Cracks or stains, but there is surface paint and decoration loss. Mercury glass(or silvered glass) is glass that was blown double walled, then silvered between the layers with a liquid silvering solution, and sealed. Although mercury was originally used to provide the reflective coating for mirrors, elemental mercury was never used to create tableware. Silvered glass was free-blown, then silvered with a solution containing silver nitrate and grape sugar(glucose) in solution, heated, then closed. Sealing methods include ... moremetal discs covered with a glass round(England) or a cork inserted into the unpolished pontil scar(American) Mercury" silvered glass was produced originally from around 1840 until at least 1930 in Bohemia(now the Czech Republic) Germany and also manufactured in England from 1849-55.
